I thought I've learned my lesson by now in "listening to my gut" and sticking with "the initial choice." After a long hard physical work day, I suggested to my boss/friend the buffet place we'd normally go to. He felt adventurous, and I followed him reluctantly. For us, the business's location is convenient, and we were very hungry. Prior to going there, I accessed their website on my cell phone. The main page states "Great food at a great price! Lunch $8.99." Keep that price in mind.... Upon entering, we see a male at the front desk. After a couple of moments passed, he acknowledged us and advised us right away lunch is over, it's dinner time, and dinner is $10.99. I turned to my friend while in a very confused state and looked at the time right after. It was 1:45 P.M. Unless they go by the time in Japan (would've been 1:45 A.M.), it should've still been lunch time when we got there. With my face still showing great confusion, I turned to my friend and asked if he still wanted to dine here. Knowing how hungry we both were, he decided to dine there despite us being deceived. And so I followed his lead. Like our usual buffet place, they were all about the business of getting us seated immediately. Eventually, sometime during our stay, I grabbed the attention of our waitress as she passed by our table to confirm whether lunch was over or not and if the current price for the buffet was $10.99 as quoted by the man at the front desk. She said it's $14.99 now! I was more confused and outraged than before, as you can easily imagine. I asked why. She said it's because of their "special" Valentine's Day dinner promotion. My friend was in the bathroom while this transpired. Once he returned from there, I told him what our waitress told me. Not to my surprise, he was confused and outraged as well. I jokingly said "For every minute we sit here, the price increases!" We left as soon as we had our fill of food which was decent, and hot tea. The interior tries its best to mimic Japanese architecture and bring some Japanese culture to the Stuart area. The interior's decently decorated and is maintained well. The staff ensured the dining area and bathrooms were clean at all times. While Sakura Japanese Buffet is good at the building's upkeep and keeping it consistently clean, as well as ensuring the buffet items were replenished at all times, lack of communication among staff and deceiving customers by charging them for dinner when it's still lunch are enough for at least my friend and I to never return again. That's shady business on their part. If the man at the front desk were to have told us buffet was $14.99, then we would've saved ourselves the trouble and walked out right there and then to go to our usual buffet spot! There's this cliche, and it goes something like this, "You live and you learn," and we certainly have. There's a first for everything, but there's also a last. I give this place a merciful 2/5 Yelp stars. read more

OMG i had to come back and say this. After reading my review pls go read some other 2 or 3 star reviews. Seems like that woman I talked about I my review is a known problem. WOW! HERES MY REVIEW: Second time going there. I liked the food, but the female owner is really annoying. First visit she kept coming to our table telling us we are nice people and how much she likes us. Listen, this is how I think! I'm wondering what's wrong with this woman. Let's just humor her and eat. She kept walking by smiling and watching us and coming over to say she liked us. We didn't do anything one way or the other, other than sit down and eat our food and talked quietly. How does this woman have so much affection for us? After 4, 5,6 times and her loud talking I began to think she's either a nut case, a fake or just disingenuous. I liked the food, so we went back again today. She made sure to sit us in the same seat. I didn't think too much about it at first but now I'm convinced we were being watched on a camera. It's too much to explain it all, this review would be too long. So anyway on the second visit her behavior was just the same as the first. I just laughed it off and smiled when she kept coming around and around. I kinda didn't take it personal becuase she seemed to harass a few other customers too. But... The last straw was we were eating and she brings the check and put it on the table turns and walked away. I didn't ask for the check. I know other asain spots I go too will bring the check when they see you get desert, I'm ok with that,, but we were still eating and what happened to the annoying overly friendly fake attitude. This was enough for me, I stopped eating, but as soon as I pushed my plate to the edge of the table she came around the corner and picked up the plate like she knew it was there. She didn't walk by and notice,, she came stright to my table. That didn't feel good at all. Now I getting suspicious. But worse. she just reached out and put her hand in my hair. I pulled back and said don't do that but the look on her face was like I'd used a four letter word. Im not at all cool with this woman putting her hands on me or in my hair. Now I've really had enough and we got up to leave. I picked up the check and like a flash she shot out of that adjoining room and beat us to the cashier where someone was already there. She took over and She cashed us out and I even still left a tip. But as we walked her little son ( he's 9yrs we learned from the first visit) yelled Black Monkey at us. I looked back and he ducked and the same lady laughed. Instead of making a scene we just left. Sad because I liked the place. Trust me I'm boiling mad. Don't fall for the fake affection. Food Wes terrible Everything was over cooked, and everything tasted exactly the same way. Service was pretty bad. Nobody spoke to us or looked at us even though we talk to them until it was time for the check and then we got smiles. This is no way to run customer service in your restaurant. The children were more service oriented than the adults there there was one man that stood there and stared at us while we were eating, and as soon as we put our forks down, he swept up our plates . We weren't even finished eating. My friend that was with me and helping me due to I'm handicapped, had to push his food to the back of the table so they wouldn't take his plate while he was up helping me terrible terrible. Terrible The ambience was fine. It appeared to be clean. There is ample parking and that's the nicest thing I can say about this restaurant. They advertised one price online and they charged a lot more than that when we were there There is a sign that states take what you want, rat what you takeor we will box it and charge you more for it we didn't waste any food we didn't have any food boxed. However, they charged us more than the price online. They either need to fix their online advertisement or put their prices back to what it says online really super disappointed with this restaurant. read more

Great spot. Can't believe they have this good of food at this buffet! the sushi wasn't bad. not at all. and if you wanted to spend your entire night eating off the sushi bar, you could do it super economically. But I preferred the other stuff, like I ate two plates of peel and eat shrimp, which were amazing. Then I got a big bowl of ice cream--yum. And the Chinese selection of food wasn't bad either. $38 for 5 pieces of sushi. We gave this place an honest try. Shortly after we arrived to no greeting we were shuffled to a table by I'm assuming the owners kid. I was the first to go grab food from the buffet and there was barely any sushi to choose from. Each sushi plate didn't have their own utensils so if somebody has a shrimp allergy they'd have to be extremely careful to not cross contaminate. I got back to the table to swap positions with my wife and she took our baby to the bathroom for a quick change. She told me what could only be described as a horror show of a baby changing table looked like. The bathrooms were disgusting. If the bathrooms are disgusting you can only imagine what the food prep area must look like. Walking back from the bathroom myself a another young child threw up everywhere on his side of the restaurant and nobody cleaned it up. That was our final straw. We paid the bill and left. The child who showed us to our table was also the one who cashed us out, I don't get it. The disgust on my wife's face should've said it all. My partner took me here many times, the lady she very annoying she always say "your so beautiful, your so kind, your eyes are pretty, your my favorite customer" every time you turn around, it's like you can't have no privacy. When we went last time I didn't tip and she said "no tip?" And I said yes no tip. She didn't do anything the kids did a lot of things (sitting guest, refilling drinks, picking up place etc). The other time we just arrived there and we just got our drinks and we got up to get our first plate and she asked us "are we leaving" I told her we just got there and that day we had no refills, no customer service. I have been driving by this restaurant for the pass five years and didn't realize until I had to go for blood work. A few days I mention to my husband about the Japanese Buffet in Stuart. Which was 10 mins from our house. We enter the restaurant and first thing we notice was the displayed of the Sushi bar. Clean and proper iced. The buffet tables clean with small portion of food, in which I like. We sat down. We were greeted by this 5'0 Japanese lady. Friend, sweet and funny. (you can't miss her, she wears her pink oriental shirt and always smiles). The only think I didn't like was the ice cream display. They should clean more. Handles were dirty. Bathrooms very clean dust free. In which I always check for. The is not bad for Martin County. We have been going for four months. Every time we go we are greeted with open arms and lots of hugs from our Japanese waitress. read more

I am not a fan of buffets but Sakura was a pleasant surprise as the variety of food was great - the sushi was fresh and the price was reasonable. Very impressive for a sushi buffet! And for under $10 at lunch it's a steal. The sushi was good, and there were easily 20+ rolls to choose from, plus several different sashimi options. Also a cold bar with peel-and-eat shrimp, mussels, seafood salads, fruit, etc. There's also a hot entree area with tempura, miso soup, and several different kinds of Chinese dishes (e.g.: Mongolian beef, ginger chicken...). Plus, there's also a cook-to-order hibachi area! Finally, there's a desert area with some pastries and ice cream. Will the sushi here blow you away? No. Have I had better? Sure. But I've also had worse -- WAY worse. Keep in mind -- this isn't some super-expensive swanky sushi restaurant. For your money it's fantastic. Plus, the staff is very nice and attentive, the restaurant is clean, and there's certainly plenty of food to keep your taste buds happy. I'll certainly be back the next time I feel like pigging out! The Chinese dishes were mediocre and lacked the vibrancy you would get with a dish fresh from the wok. Someone post said it best don't be afraid of the cost. It is super cheap compared to the quality. The salmon sashimi was like eating butter. It was by far the best pieces of salmon I have ever eaten. Then the crab legs were an additional $15! Signs up all over not to leave food on your plate! Today my family and I tried this restaurant and wanted to share our experience with anyone who has not tried this Japanese Buffet. Upon entering the restaurant were greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who showed us to our table then a server came over immediately and took our drink order, there were six of us and not everyone had arrived. The server got our drinks and came over and chatted with us and making us feel very welcome with her smile and great sense of humor. The rest of the family arrived and the server kept it up with smiles and her great friendly welcome. We all enjoyed the food and everyone found something they could eat on this beautifully presented buffet. We will be back and the value was incredible for the quality of the food. A wonderful surprise for a buffet. A nice selection of Suishi freshly prepared. The Suishi was good and plenty of it. The prepared foods were good tasting with a nice variety. The wait staff was helpful and pleasant. My wife likes avocado roll and we asked if they could make it for us . They were so accommodating asked us to wait 5 minutes and then brought it to our table thanking us for our patients. I was impressed. I will go back. The sushi rice for all the sushi was made with white vinegar which is way to strong so all the sushi tasted pickled. The pickled ginger was also spoiled by the addition of white vinegar and was inedible ( had to spit it out). This is Sakura's best asset compared to other buffets.
