This place BLEW MY EXPECTATIONS AWAY. Entering this little hole in the wall, I never would have expected to receive food with the quality and quantity that I did. I ordered fried rice with steak and shrimp and, let me tell you, it was fantastic and surprisingly reasonably priced. First of all, one serving of food was enough to feed me for 3 meals straight! An entire to go box was filled with delicious and flavorful fried rice, steak, shrimp, zucchini, onions, and broccoli. The rice wasn't dry and the servings of meat were generous and juicy. As if all of this wasn't enough, they serve you Siracha and Yum Yum Sauce on the side to really take your dish to the next level. Do not let the outside of this place fool you. Express is right! The only other Japanese food I had was at a hibachi grill. So far, at both places, I have been given a lot of food. I was able to eat at the restaurant and be full, and also eat lunch the next day and be full. The prices were very reasonable and the food was very good. I came with a group of 20 and staff handled our orders well. I like the fact that they automatically put the food in a togo container whether you are staying or not. It made my visit really convenient. The bath accommodations at the restaurant were clean as well. This is an important aspect to a dining establishment. This Hibachi and Teriyaki place is fabulous. I looked up this place on yelp and was little afraid to recommend this place to my team of 20 people at the beginning. But when the food was served I was very pleased with my decision. The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable but not anywhere near Saparo's or other Japanese restaurant I have been to. However, the quantity and the quality of the Fried chicken rice I had with yum yum sauce beats everything. I enjoyed the leftover the next day as well. Sakura Express is great. It's small, and very welcoming. Their food was great! I came in with a group of 21 and they had our orders out in a timely manner. They have their own take on "white sauce," and I loved it! The person who took our order was nice and patient, considering we had a group of 21, and the cooks did not look angry or upset rather looked happy! The ambient of the restaurant was nice and tight. My oh my I love this place! Right when we walked in I could just smell the food that my taste buds were about to devour! I ordered the veggie fried rice and it was absolutely delicious! Not only was it really great but there was also enough to feed two or three people, I had to take over half of it home to eat later. Also they provided decent customer service, they had messed up an order or two out of our group of twenty and instead of seeming frustrated or having an attitude they just fixed it! Having Sakura express to end my day yesterday was awesome :) . It took us a few minutes to find but once my colleagues and I got there it was worth it . The prices were very reasonable , and the portion size was Great . Service was quick and efficient which was a plus and the staff were very welcoming of the twenty of us . Fantastic Japanese food. Fast and friendly service with delicious food that you can see them cooking fresh. The restaurant was slightly difficult to find and the indoor decor left much to be desired. Additionally, the inner environmentalist in me did not appreciate the amount of Styrofoam used in the restaurant. Wow! I never heard of a Japanese food chain in Kentucky. Yelp Reviews pushed me and my group of 20 other colleagues to go to the place for dinner, and it was a great decision. For a fast-food restaurant this place has a very novel and very nice atmosphere. The food was certainly fast, and very good in addition to having great portions. The food is a bit greasy, so be prepared before going. Definitely check out this secret stop if you need some recharge food. read more

I stopped here after rock climbing. I was really hungry with 5 hrs of climbing and this was the best place to eat full and eat great food. This place has amazing rice with chicken and shrimp which i ordered. They have a lot on the menu. Certainly a place to try new food in a new town. read more
