This was my first dining experience at Osaka and it was wonderful. I ordered the chirashi bowl and a side of edamame. Everything was delicious. I'll be back. I was a little confused upon finding the place because I saw the sign, but I did not know that it was in the hotel so you will have to go through the lobby of the Holiday Inn to get there. There is lots of dining and seating spaces. And the menu is very large and has a lot of choices. There is something for everyone, even if you don't like sushi. read more

Osaka Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

I went here today around 6:30pm and it was packed! They had enough servers but still there were lags... we placed an order around 6:45pm and didn't get it until 7:30pm! Though the drinks were being brought out in good time.. I had the dinosaur roll.. 4/5 The other raw rolls were good too.. 3.5/5 But the red snapper was a colossal disappointment!! It looked horrible and tasted bad too! Looks-wise, I don't know what they had topped it with, but it looked like congealed gelatin. No veggies whatsoever.. and the ginger flavor was over the top!!! I'll give it a 1/5 read more

10/10, highly recommended. While traveling from NC, my husband and I chose this restaurant based on reviews, not knowing it was located in the Holiday Inn- don't let that fool you. This was the absolute best hibachi I have ever had. The portion size was perfect and not too much like some places. I got the hibachi shrimp- the shrimp were cooked perfectly and seasoned with quality ingredients. It wasn't overly salty like some hibachi restaurants. The veggies were very fresh and cooked and seasoned to perfection. My husband got the sesame chicken, which I tasted- and it was top notch. White meat chicken and not doused with sugar. The service was excellent- friendly and attentive. My husband and I agreed that this was one of the best meals we have had in a while. If we are ever in KY again, we will be back!! read more

Was doing errands in Hamburg and decided to checkout the new Osaka, located in the Holiday Inn. Nice, quiet lunch, even though most of the tables filled up. Had the Chirashi lunch special. Came with the usual salad or miso soup. Opted for the salad. Decent lunch sized portion. With the salad, it was quite enough for me. 41 read more

March 15, 2025 My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for dinner while exploring new dining options. We were surprised to find it located inside the Holiday Inn, but once inside, the ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a great dining experience. We were greeted and seated promptly. For our meal, we ordered the salmon skin roll, spicy roll combo, and Fox roll, all of which came with soup and salad. The food was delicious, and we even had leftovers to take home. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we would definitely return! read more

Best sushi I've had in a long time! Wicked roll is awesome. Also liked the Cowboy roll, sexy model roll and Kentucky roll!

My husband and I rolled up to this spot and thought it was incorrect. I mean, a sushi restaurant inside of a Holiday Inn? Honestly without the flags and outdoor signage, I probably would've missed out. There was ample parking in the area, and when we got to the restaurant at about 6pm it was starting to fill up. People seemed to be either hanging out at the bar, sitting down for dinner, and were dressed up or casually dressed. It was pretty busy. We were greeted promptly and seated close to the bar. Sarah and her husband (sushi chef) were very accommodating and helpful in suggesting items to eat or try out. We ended up with 4 sushi rolls (including the Sexy series of rolls), Hamachi kama, Unagi bowl, and 2 other appetizers. We also got two orders of hot sake to pair with dinner. All I can say is that each of the dishes were created with care and pretty flavorful with delicious sauces and little bits of jalapeno added to each dish. The presentation was phenomenal and the dishes looked like works of art/instagram worthy. The service was just as good with our waiter easily within reach whenever we needed anything else. The owners were very attentive as well. They brought out our dishes almost immediately and also recommended what we should have for dinner. All in all it was a great experience. Prompt seating, courteous staff, and it seemed like the restaurant got busy and filled up when we were eating at the venue. It actually got busy enough to where they had to turn a few people away during the dinner rush. It was just a little disorienting since the venue is located inside of a Holiday Inn. It was nice to see that they were busy in the restaurant and that people were getting orders to go or getting take out during the time we were eating. I'm excited to try out this spot again when we return to the area. It was a nice surprise to find this hidden gem. read more

Exceptional sushi, and I'm a Californian. Service is amazing, especially Sarah who hooked me up with the best drinks and menu recommendations, even as she was training new employees! Being in the lobby of a hotel, I didn't expect much, but it blew me out of the water. This is a must-try. read more

Waited for 2 hours for a to go order. There was no communication on timeframe. I waited in the lobby with nearly 30 people. When I went to cancel and ask for a refund they snuck over and gave my order to the chefs. The lobby had vomit in it the entire time that no one cleaned so all of us got to stand next to puke while we waited for 2 hours for our food. Absolutely absurd. Not ever coming back read more

AMAZING SUSHI. Have been multiple times and never disappointed. We LOVE the spring rolls, sesame chicken, and fried rice as well.

Food was wonderful. Highly recommend green dragon roll it is a perfect combination with the spiciness from the tuna and the sweetness from the mango. Service was good. Not too loud and tables were spaced out nicely, would be good for a casual date night. read more

My sons and I loved Osaka Sushi in Lexington, KY. We've had great sushi in California, and the sushi chefs at Osaka really delivered! Plus, our server, Sara, was very attentive and had a cheerful personality. We had three meals at Osaka before we moved on to our destination in Knoxville, TN. Oh, and after a long drive from Indiana, the relaxing jazz music was perfect. Thank you for the nourishing meals on our roadtrip from Arizona! read more

OK obviously I am a certified "Sushi Nut", and if you check out the menu, there are 14 pages of different & unique Japanese items to enjoy. As a result of my 40 year sales career I have enjoyed sushi well before it was fashionable to enjoy raw fish. I've eaten sushi in most major metropolitan markets and a lot of not so upscale locations. I started eating at Osaka 12 years ago at their Dylan Place location ( I live 3 blocks away ). During that time I have never walked away disappointed (look at their 420+ 4.8 reviews)! This new location is in a Holiday Inn in Hamburg and you will be pleasantly surprised by the vibe and blown away by the quality of their menu offerings & the attention to detail. Great menu, cool surroundings, full bar, great service, reasonable prices and the most delicious offerings. You will come back again & again, I promise . read more

THE GREATEST!! My daughter was preparing to go to the hospital to deliver my two grandsons and took a poll on Facebook to determine where the best sushi was in Lexington. Her plan was to have sushi after the babies were delivered. As her parents, my wife and I went to pick up the order. The restaurant is located inside the Holiday Inn. It is a very clean and well decorated setting. I was greeted by Sarah and she promptly took my to go order. Being an expecting grand parent, I had to brag about my two twin boys on the way as well as my sushi hungry daughter. Sarah was very professional and kind. The Sushi platter prepared for my daughter was beautiful and she said it was by far, the best she had ever eaten. I look forward to going back to Osaka and taking my grandsons. read more

So far, this is the best sushi I've had in town! This place is really nice and clean. It's a little bit hard to find because it's inside of the Holiday Inn. The eating environment and the service is really good. I seated in the sushi lounge bar for the lunch to watch how my sushi is made. It was really nice experience. The price is really fair and the quality of the food is excellent. So I brought some lunch back for my dad, and he also loves his sushi! I would definitely go back to this place with my family! read more

Being in a Holiday Inn we thought was kinda different, but it's really cool! It's worth the visit just to see the decor and experience the ambiance. Don't sleep on this spot, the food and service were amazing! Beautiful Sushi bar and dining room. We start with a lemon drop martini and sashimi plate app, great variety and generous slices. Enjoyed the shrimp & steak hibachi dinner (no grill) fried rice miso soup with salad excellent! The menu is as big as a bible. The staff from hostess to waiter were spot on with superior service. Wonderful restaurant, highly recommend! read more

I loved the original location on Boston Road, but haven't been in many years. When my wife suggested we try their new location in Hamburg, I said "sure." It was not a good experience. It's in the lobby of the Holiday Inn, occupying the space that was their bar and breakfast seating area. Half walls topped with frosted glass panes on top. You never felt like you were in a restaurant and the hotel lobby was always visible. Additionally, the kitchen is in a separate space behind the "restaurant " space, so food was put on a cart and wheeled down a hall and then into the partitioned restaurant space. We ordered the Rock and Roll Shrimp appetizer while we looked at the sushi menu. We expected small crispy fried shrimp in a "bang-bang" style sauce. What we got was large frozen breaded shrimp in a modified sweet & sour sauce. The shrimp had the sort of doughy texture close to the inside like frozen fried foods get when they don't cook high or long enough. Not appealing. We were concerned so we opted to order two sushi rolls instead of a greater amount. The Yellowtail and Avocado roll was straight down the middle average - the roll was ungainly as it had been cut very large and it kept tying to fall apart. The second roll involved shrimp tempura with bunch of stuff added around and on top. It simply didn't taste great. Nothing about it was really good. Finally, they use a prerecorded oontzy Happy Birthday song to play LOUDLY from the bar when the staff acknowledged a birthday (which they did three times while we dined. All in all, food quality and ambiance were just terrible compared to other options. Would not go back. read more

Red flag #1 should have been there was not a single person there at 5:30 PM. Gotta say I had high hopes , since blue sushi is such a long drive , unfortunately Osaka didn't measure up , in any way. Nigiri was not cold or cool, room temp warm at best, we ordered 4 different rolls , couldn't eat more than 1 piece of each , all were gross in their own way. Served us a warm bottle of saki in a can of ice , won't be back read more

This gem of a restaurant was exceptional. We decided to give it a try on a Tuesday night. We ordered a Crab Rangoon roll as an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS (no picture because we ate it too fast). We ordered teriyaki chicken/shrimp and hibachi chicken. The salad and soup were top notch. The dinner entrees were scrumptious. The service was great and the owner actually asked us about our experience. I would highly recommend it. It is hands down the best Japanese option in Lexington! read more

This is the restaurant that's in Holiday Inn Express, fyi. No judgement but fyi. The service was great! Greeted warmly, seated promptly, yada yada. The food, every last bite, tasted like nothing. Bland. Individual bland ingredients. It took so much soy sauce to get it to taste like anything. Great service, terrible food. I don't like leaving poor reviews but here we are. read more
