First visit to this Osaka. Very unassuming exterior, but light, lovely within. I saw Pokel on the menu, (trying to relive Hawaii), but the waitress told me it was an appetizer with no rice. Although Osaka was packed when we arrived the service was prompt and exceptional. We ordered the crab salad, chicken and steak hibachi, and a variety of sushi rolls. The food came out and looked great, very nice presentation. Of course, what matters is the taste and it was nothing short of excellent all the way around!! We ended up with our eyes bigger than our stomachs but it was worth it to try everything. The restaurant is fairly new and gorgeous on the inside with a wonderful relaxing look and feel. This place is gorgeous; they did a fantastic job on interior design. You might have a bit of a language barrier with a server, but to me, that usually signals the food is about to be fire. We had the Beef Carpaccio to start and it was delicious. My friend thought it was a bit too spicy, but he is a wuss. I had chicken hibachi and a California Roll, both incredibly tasty. My friend told the server to pick a roll and let the chef pick a roll for him. We don't know what came out, one raw and one cooked, but both were scrumptious. I'm looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow! Service was top notch; I think my buddy had five soda refills in an hour. Lol. Not many people yet know about this new location. Osaka is in the new shopping center off of Leestown road (same side as the new Starbucks and Anderson apartments/townhomes). When we walked in we were greeted and expeditiously seated. We were greeted by our server as soon as we sat down. We came during lunch hours and there was a 15% discount. We ordered the lunch hibachi tofu, with the 3 roll special (vegetable tempura, salmon roll and cucumber/carrot roll). We also ordered vegetable spring rolls. The star of the show were the children's chopsticks as my son LOVED them. My favorite of our meal was the vegetable tempura roll and my son liked the salmon roll. The food was extremely affordable as I was expecting to pay a food amount for the amount of food we ordered. I loved that they had a kids menu as well. We came in on a Sunday night at 8:45. The restaurant closes at 10:00. It was obvious from the start that they were annoyed to have another table come in. The servers were visibly upset that another table had come in shortly after. We were one of 4 tables in the establishment at this time. We were greeted by someone who got us drinks then waited quite awhile before our server arrived. We order appetizers and entrees and then did not see our server again until the food came out. All our food (salads appetizers and entrees came out at one time. Sauces were missing from our sushi roll and I received the wrong order all together but by the time we realized this our server was already gone. We did not see our server agin for quite some time. There were several staff members congregating near the kitchen and eventually we managed to get our servers attention to fix the issues but by this time the hot food was already cold. At about 9:45 two members of the staff began to mop the floors. There were 4 tables still in the restaurant and they mopped around us. The cleaning solution was rather strong and not ideal for when your eating. Someone literally mopped the floor right next to our booth barely missing my foot. We at this point got our food to go. I understand it being close to closing and wanting to go home but there's a fine line between getting a jump on closing duties and being outright inhospitable. I have heard wonderful things about this place and dined at the other location many times. We have also gotten food from here to go frequently and enjoyed it. We were excited to dine in this time and celebrating some good news! We eat out often and both work in the hospitality industry but this was by far one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. While our server was nice he simply took our order and that was about it I could overlook this if everything else hadn't been so bad. I doubt we will be back. read more

We were excited for this location to open and ordered carry out online last night (10/28) for the first time. We would've eaten inside on another occasion but there is no hibachi seating. We had two orders of the hibachi chicken and an order of the tempura chicken with vegetables and fried rice for all three dishes. The flavor of the rice was just okay and the chicken was dry and almost hard little nuggets. We received our soups which were the best part of the meal sadly, but they didn't give us the salads the meals come with. Terrible too since I gave a tip and didn't even get all the food I paid for. We had a good experience the a few weeks ago in person, however, delivery despite being very close left us very disappointed. We had no salad dressing, and more importantly, we had to toss the rest of our food just now because the rice tasted like fish. Not the sauce, not the chicken, just the rice. I'm not sure how that managed to happen. Their in person service may be much better tonight, and hopefully wasn't a fluke a few weeks back, but we just wasted $70 something on food we couldn't stomach.
