I was first referred to Sako's via a good friend who knows a lot more about cars than I do. So, I knew I could trust Sako from the start. The first time I took a care there, at the old location, Sako gave me an assessment of what to do and what he said I didn't need to do yet, which I appreciated. He broke it down clearly and didn't try to take advantage of getting as much work as possible like many shops would. It left such a great impression I knew I'd be back the next time I needed a local shop. Fast forward to just a week ago and I had issues with two of our cars - the old VW Passat and a temp car, a Hyundai Veracruz, my in-laws gave my son until his project car is done. Neither one of these cars do we want to put much more $$ into them. I told Sako we need them safe and working and what's needed. He totally took care of them. For the Veracruz, a Starter replacement and brakes. For the VW, the control arms, fixed the AC/Heater system, fixed an oil leak, welded the cracked header pipe, and more. He finished the VW within a couple of days and same for the Veracruz - even during the busy holiday rush. Sako shoots straight and he's very honest. He'll break down your options and won't try to sell you into extras or worse like some shops. Grateful to have a local shop I can fully trust. Def visit Sako the next time you have an auto repair need. Note his new location - 735 W Rte 66 UNIT B, Glendora, CA 91740 read more

Honest mechanic. Hard to find these days. Fast convenient service. Sako won't give you the run around. Got my hybrid battery replaced, no issues! Thanks again! read more

Horrible service. Two friends recommended them as they had used Sako when they were younger. I brought my Jeep in and said I wasn't in a hurry to get it back. TWO MONTHS later I got it back. Some things were fixed but some didn't get fixed. The bill was very vague. After two months of using it occasionally I noticed the balance cover gasket was leaking. I called to setup a time to have it repaired under the 12 month/12,000 Mike warranty and was told to bring it in. After many phone calls and badgering (over one month elapsed) on the status I am here picking up the Jeep with nothing done to it except to steam clean the engine to find the leak. It's ridiculous and unprofessional. The parking lot is always full and you'll hear things like "leave me your number because I lost it and how long will you be gone?" This is a poorly managed place and I will not be back except to deliver the bill from another shop to do the warranty work. If Sako doesn't pay that then we can meet in Small Claims Court. read more

ATTENTION ALL SINGLE WOMEN WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS!! If that's you OR you just appreciate an honest mechanic, Sakos Automotive is your place! My parents are in a completely different state so my dad can't bargain and haggle on my behalf like he used to (bummer). Thank the Lord I introduced to Sako! He takes up and takes care of me like he would his own daughter. He is ALWAYS kind and goes above and beyond for me. He allows me to drop my car off in the morning, go to work, and has it completed by the end of the day (as long as it's not major work). He is 100% honest and prices are set competitively and reasonably! What a great mechanic!! Love this guy and highly recommend him!! Also! He shares a lot with a smog testing center who I have also used-- he is great too! Talk about a one stop shop! Don't just take my word for it! Experience the difference- you won't go back to anyone else! read more

i tried Sakos a few years ago because my brakes sounded horrible.. i explained the problem to him and had him check it out and do an oil change. When i got back later that day, he charged me for the oil change and told me that the particular brake pads i had on were indeed making noise, but they were fine and had 60% of their pads left. AT THAT POINT I KNEW I HAD FOUND MY MECHANIC FOR LIFE. read more

Great service, honest owner! I met so many loyal customer at the shop while I was waiting for my car. Sako is a awesome guy!

We have been going to Sako's for 20 years and have had nothing but excellent service. After making repairs, Sako takes the time to drive your car to make sure everything is working and then makes honest recommendations that you can trust. His pricing is more than fair and considerably less expensive than dealer shops. We have several friends who also use Sako's and they all are very satisfied with his service. Give him a try, you won't regret doing so. read more

Great mechanic with fair prices and honest explanation of what our cars need. We trust him with all our cars now.

Worst business transaction of my life. I feel like I was part of a shake down. In fact I think this place may have broken the law. Sako did more work than explicitly requested without asking me if I wanted it done , charged me much more for that unasked for work than any other autoshop quoted me at, loaned me a car with a broken gas gauge. But worst of all, told me I could pay some upfront and the rest later, but when I arrived Sako left the premises and forced me to pay all of it upfront, despite texting me that morning to confirm our agreement. There's like 5 other auto body shops on the street. Please, I beg you, go to any other one because there's no way they could be less scummy. You will be ripped off. read more

Called and scheduled an oil change. I'm very busy at work and asked if I schedule an appointment and wait for the jeep to be completed. Ritchie gave me a Saturday appointment in the morning. I arrived and they went straight to work on it. After waiting in the waiting room for a little while, I realized they're not supposed to be open today. Monday thru Friday only. I really appreciate Sako opening his business. To accommodate my busy work schedule. Great place. Very honest. My family and I will continue to come here for a long time. read more

We've been coming here for quite some time. We couldn't be happier with Sako and his workers. They do a good job and are honest, which is really hard to come by now a days. We actually travel from the San Bernardino mountains to come here read more

Started coming here on the recommendation of a friend. I have a Toyota van. My experiences were positive and slowly my husbnd left the dealership and brought his Prius, next my daughter brought her car, and now my husband's best friend brings his. We have all had great experiences with Sako and his shop. I feel Sako is honest and stands by the work he does by honoring the warranty on said work. We always get a call explaining the work that needs to be done and a price quote PRIOR to his starting the work. I highly recommend this shop read more

The best mechanic in town! Honest and trust worthy.

I had a car emergency yesterday and went to Sako's Automotive. Even though he was about to close his shop for the day, he stayed longer and helped me fix my problem, so I could drive home safe. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Definitely will come back! Very thankful! read more

Sako is like the cool uncle who works on cars that you wish you had. He is very honest, tells you what needs to be fixed and what can wait. Fair prices. You are never once pressured into repairs let alone unnecessary work, he is just upfront and genuinely wants you to be happy. Definitely treats you like family. I would never go to anyone else even if it was half the cost. Harry, Sako's dad, who gives local rides home, is a sweetie too. Ask him about his travels. read more

I started going to Sako's based on a recommendation from a family friend and I have been taking my cars to Sako's for six years now. He is honest and will take the time to explain what needs to be done. He would never try to "sell" me on something that didn't need to be done. His prices are reasonable and he does great work. I've recommended him to a few friends and they've all made the switch. Thanks Sako! read more

awesome service. My whole family goes there for auto service. Prompt efficient and cost effective auto service. Sako even came out to my house and gave me a free jump one morning last year. Rides to and from home via his dad. I cant say enough good things about this facility. read more

Solid honest vehicle work for a fair price. They put new tires on my 30' C class RV and changed the oil twice.

Exceptional service. This is the place my dad has trusted over the years, and as I've started going here, I can see why. I always feel welcomed, and am given straight-up honest and top-quality service. I don't trust my car anywhere else! Also, the courtesy ride compliments of Sako's father is always pleasant and convenient :) read more

I took my Toyota truck to Sako's after it did not pass emissions test. Sako took the time to explain a couple of possible problems, and I went ahead with the first repair the diagnostic computer suggested. That solved the problem partially, however Sako continued to troubleshoot the truck at no extra charge until all the remaining error codes were cleared and the truck passed the emissions test. I am very happy with the experience, and I felt that I was treated with honesty and respect. I highly recommend this man and his shop. read more

When you find a good mechanic, never let him go. Honest, Trustworthy and does good work.

I would give him no stars if I could. I was recommended by family members because I was told he was trustworthy but boy were they wrong. He is the biggest scammer I have ever encountered. Had my Prius towed 55 miles there because the inverted water pump needed to be replaced. Before we even got it towed there he quoted us at $300 which we felt was decent. So we got my car towed there and the 12V was dead so he charged it and when it was finished charging he said there was nothing wrong with the car. We explained to him that we knew the problem, it was the inverted water pump and asked him to please just fix that part. So, like he did many times before he said "oh I'll check it out again," but something told me he had never checked it out in the first place and besides that we told him we didn't want a diagnostic because we already knew the problem and had it coded before. So finally, we pick it up because nothing is being done to fix it and he tells us that will be a hundred dollars b/c he put gas in it (which we know damn well he didn't because it was completely empty when we picked it up and it's a Prius mind you)! He noted that if we left and the repair light came back on he would apply that $100 I pay to the repair. So ten minutes after getting my car from the lot my repair light comes back on so we rush it to the shop and good Lord almighty! You know what the problem was?! THE ONE WE TOLD HIM! The inverted water pump that was the whole reason we took it there in the first place. So WHAT DOES HE TELL US?! He tells us it'll be $350 on top of the $100 we already gave him for doing absolutely nothing to my car. And mind you he originally quoted us $300 for that repair which is the whole reason we decided to go through the hassle of towing it 55 miles to get it repaired there in the first place. Needless to say I will not be getting it repaired there. I'm beyond frustrated and he will be seeing me in court if I don't get my money back. read more

Sako is honest and is a mechanic you can really trust. I have a really old car and he is the only mechanic that didn't laugh at me or ask me why I have such an old car. That is why he gets my business and also because his prices are reasonable and he knows his stuff! read more

I have been there many times with my mechanical and auto body repair needs. I have referred many friends over the years as well. These are very kind, good hearted people. The body and paint work is beyond expectations always (and I expect a lot). If there is some minor oversight or complication they are very quick to just take care of it with no problems. When they do body and paint repairs they also repair and spot paint other minor unrelated areas free of charge without being asked. The prices are amazingly reasonable. read more

The best mechanic I have ever found. Always honest, tells you exactly what is wrong what you need to do, don't need and probably don't even need to worry about. He is also willing to explain the issues too and if possible will give you options. Prices are very good too! I never met anyone who has gone to him that has anything but praise. That is from both people who know cars to people that do know anything at all about them. read more

My family and I have had the pleasure of doing business with Sako for over 15 years. He has taken extremely good care of all of our cars, one of which has recently gone over the 300,000 mile mark and is still running strong, thanks to him. With Sako, you're not a customer, you're family. He has a true passion for cars and for doing things right, and it shows! His primary concern is your safety and satisfaction. Sako is unfailingly honest and will never sell or recommend unneeded services. His pricing is very reasonable, especially given the quality of service and workmanship received. I highly recommend Sako's Automotive to anyone looking for honest, friendly service done right the first time ! read more

We love Sako - we've taken all three of our cars here along with many friends we've converted to Sako fans. I echo the prior reviewer - he's very honest, and charges fair prices. He also does great work! I dropped a friend off to get her oil changed, and while I was picking her up he noticed my brake light was out. He fixed it on the spot, no charge! read more

The best...very honest, fair, and understanding...also for us who don't know much about cars he takes the time to explain everything....

What I SHOULD do is write a bad review, then Sako wouldn't be so overworked! But the reason he is so busy is he does great work at reasonable prices. I've seen the few bad reviews here and I guess things didn't work out for these guys but I can tell you we are very glad our friend recommended him to us nearly ten years ago. All our family's cars (five) go to Sako for everything from oil changes and tires to a rebuilt transmission. Very happy with his work, prices and service. He always takes the time to explain exactly what was wrong with the vehicle. I'm a mechanical engineer, my wife is decidely not mechanically minded but we both feel that Sako treats all his customers honestly and fairly. Now he has help in the office so he will have time to squeeze your car in! read more
