DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP - THEY ARE FRAUDS! BACKGROUND & APPEARANCE Glendora Imports, once a Nissan specialist, is now run by Kris and her son--neither of whom have an auto repair background. The shop appears run-down, with rusted vehicles collecting dust. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & VIOLATIONS I called ahead to schedule a $150 diagnostic test for my Nissan Titan (15,590 miles). As a retired industry professional and former shop owner, I had already performed key repairs--I just needed a diagnostic confirmation. Upon arrival, Kris rushed through intake without discussing my concerns. She failed to follow Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) guidelines, skipping key documentation: Odometer reading Issue description Written estimate Customer contact details Yet, I proceeded because my registration was expired, and I needed a confirmed diagnosis. FRAUDULENT "DIAGNOSTIC" PROCESS At 4 PM, Kris's son called, claiming the issue was a bad catalytic converter--a repair costing $2,000-$4,000. When I questioned if they performed the necessary tests, he rudely repeated, "Sir, I said your catalytic converter is bad." I specifically asked if they checked the Air-Fuel Ratio sensor (a known issue). He had no idea. His response? "We are good." That's not a diagnosis--that's a scam. THE FINAL STRAW - THEY NEVER TOUCHED MY TRUCK When I arrived, my truck was in the exact same spot as when I dropped it off. The paper floor mats were untouched--no footprints, no sign it had been moved. Yet, they fabricated an invoice claiming they "worked" on it. Even worse, the odometer reading was falsified as 15,000 miles--when my actual odometer read 15,590 miles. They charged a hazardous waste disposal fee--for what? No work was performed. No fluids were replaced. This is blatant fraud. FINAL VERDICT This shop never touched my truck, never performed a real diagnostic, and tried to scam me into pairing for work that was NEVER DONE. I have filed a formal BAR complaint and will pursue legal action. If a refund isn't issued, I'll see them in court. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE--THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT SCAM OPERATION. read more

I brought in my 2004 Mazda6 recently as my turn signals on the left side stopped working properly -- one minute it worked fine, the next minute the back light blinked in rapid succession while the front light was out completely. While inside the car upon activating the left turn signal, you could hear that fast clicking noise. This is a typical sign that your blinker is about to go out, right? So I bought new lightbulbs thinking maybe this would do the trick, provided the new bulbs to this shop, and explained to Kris, whom I believe is the shop owner, that sometimes the turn signal would work and sometimes it wouldn't. She said she'd have it done in 30 min. I was the first customer there at 8 AM. By 8:22 AM, Kris called and told me to give them an hour. I said no problem. Within an hour she called me and said my car was ready. I swung by, paid the $66 labor fee, and drove my car off the lot. However, upon turning left back onto the street while engaging my left turn signal, it STILL made that fast clicking sound. I pulled aside and checked the blinker front to back. As suspected, it was STILL not functioning properly. So of course I returned to their shop and explained to Kris the blinker was still out. She came outside and had me turn on my blinker and saw for herself that it wasn't working. She even asked me if I had possibly damaged my car recently as I had some scratches on the bottom left side of my front bumper. I told her those scratches were old and never affected my turn signal in the past. This was irrelevant and made me feel she was trying to somehow shift blame. So what, the mechanic replaced my lightbulbs and did not CHECK to verify that the turn signal was good to go before signing off on it?! Clearly not. Kris said she thought it might be a flasher or some switch, but needed to look into this. She was back on her computer, took back my car key, and told me she'd call when ready. By 1:07 PM, I received a call from Derrick at the shop who said the culprit was the turn signal socket, which was poorly designed, and that it had to be cleaned out due to residue built up over time. He said the blinker worked and my car was ready for pick-up. I arrived, he tested out the turn signal, and AGAIN, it wasn't working. He showed me the socket, wiggled it one way and then another to demonstrate it worked when only in a certain position, then deemed it necessary to replace the socket all together. He made a call, said he could have a replacement socket in a couple hours, and just pop in the new one. I said OK, call me when it's ready. At 3:35 PM, Derrick called and said the replacement socket didn't work and that they would now have to go in deeper and get into the lighting and figure it out from there. After having dropped off the car by 8 AM, returned it for a second look, being told it was ready at 1 PM only to have it not work a second time, and then failing again for the THIRD time, I had had it with this shop. I had literally been in at the shop not once or twice, but THREE times in one day over a stinkin' TURN SIGNAL!! And it was pouring rain for most of the day! It's fortunate I live close by. Imagine if I had not -- regardless, all of this was a total waste of time and a waste of $66!! I told Derrick thanks but no thanks. If they couldn't fix a freaking TURN SIGNAL after the second time, their credibility was shot and I doubted they'd be able to repair it on their third attempt. As a new customer, this was my first and last visit. If they can't repair a turn signal, it makes you question the staff's knowledge and technical skills all together. I took my car in to another mechanic who had it ready within an hour and told me there was a short in the wiring. He fixed it, I checked the blinker, and I was FINALLY good to go. The cost for his fix was $65. No phone calls. No repeat visits in one day. No fuss. ZERO regrets. ZERO disappointment. Save your time, energy, and money. SMH. read more

Glendora Imports resurrected our 1995 chevy work truck from possible retirement. Our truck was becoming increasingly unreliable as it would go through episodes of misfiring and then drive fine for a while until the next episode. Not only the "random" nature of the truck "acting up" frustrating, but the illusive nature of (1)not registering a "check engine light" and (2)not "acting up" in front of the technician was equally frustrating because it made it difficult to diagnose the problem. Often, Glendora Imports would drive the truck, hoping the truck would "act up" under their watch...but it never did. Although some parts including the ECM were replaced and the truck "acted up" less frequently, we were still hesitant to use the truck except for local jobs. We thought we had to accept that the truck could not be repaired beyond this point. But our luck changed when the truck failed the Smog Check...it actually "acted up" during the test and continued to "act up" in the hands of the technicians at Glendora Imports. We thought we had to retire the truck..but Kris and Derek at Glendora Imports assured us that they were "going to get to the bottom of this and fix the problem". Since no "check engine light" was triggered, the truck's ECM offered no help. The technicians only had their years of experience and gut instinct to guide them to the root cause of the random episodes of "misfiring". In a couple of days, Glendora Imports pinpointed the faulty part--ignition control module. The truck easily passed the Smog Test and is now contributing to our business on a daily basis, performing more smoothly, powerfully, and reliably ever than before. We are very, very grateful to Glendora Imports. We rate Glendora Imports 5 stars for their service, unwavering commitment to honestly fix the problem, and their fearless joy in fixing cars. Not much of a import specialist. I took in my 2003 VW Jetta and I had to keep taking it back 3X for failed alternator . I spent 1500 on repairs and they still could not get it right . My son was driving the vehicle in traffic on 10 Frwy when it shut off in middle of traffic . I'm glad I'm writing this and not a eulogy. They even said it was the battery Ecu that I also paid them to replace . Still the vehicle failed and stopped in the middle of traffic. They could not find the problem and they still wanted me to take in the vehicle so they can look at it again . So I can pay more cash that unfortunately I can not ever recover . Do yourself a favor go elsewhere unless you don't care about wasting money. Also to throw salt on the wound the Service lady was EXTREMELY RUDE when I was explaining the problem. read more

Glendora Import Specialists (GIS) are exceptional and honest. A Jeep dealer said I needed new spark plugs, a job that would cost just shy of $700! I setup an appointment to have GIS do the work, it would have been $250 less; when I got there for my appointment I discussed the supposed issue with Chris, she recommended not doing the spark plugs. My Jeep was at 41K miles, Jeep recommends changing the plugs at 100K, Chris asked how the Jeep was running, I said great, she said not to do it, so I didn't and my Jeep is running great. When I do need spark plugs, I will have GIS do the work. This level of honesty is so appreciated. Horrible. Almost NO OIL IN MY ENGINE. I was a long time customer they just lost . They serviced my truck and installed a new valve cover gasket . Drove my truck a couple of miles and it's was leaking oil . I took back my truck and they said the leak was from oil plug . They said they tried several plugs and it didn't fit . Then they later denied they tried the plugs because they left my truck with almost NO OIL !!!!! . They didn't top it off or check oil level after major service on gaskets . Also they wanted 700 for the new fix for a oil pan when all I had to do is place a 10 cent crush washer on the plug . Guess what no leaks . My truck was 3.5 quarts LOW . A truly honest repair shop. I brought my Mazda 6 in a few months back after the Autozone's crappy battery tester showed I needed a new alternator. I called GIS and the shop owner ordered the part and set up a Saturday appointment. I dropped the car off and walked down to get a bagel. Before I could get in my first bite, the owner called and told me she was sending the alternator back, the car just needed a battery, which Autozone had already replaced under warranty. I have been going to Glendora Imports for 15 years because of the great service. They will work around your schedule, budget and even drop you off at home if your car is being repaired. The main reason you should take your vehicle here is that they will only fix what is necessary and not try to up sell you on things that aren't needed like other shops. If they find something that needs attention, they will recommend it and let you know how much longer you can possibly go until it's unsafe and needs to be serviced. Another great point is that they work on domestic and Japanese cars, I have a lifted 06 Chevy and 03 Nissan 350z that they keep in pristine condition. Inconvenient I had to take the vehicle back in to have it corrected. Overall Glendora Imports does a good job. I mainly deal with Derrick who is a great guy, personable and friendly. They are not pleasant to deal with and have to go out of there way to make you feel insignificant.
