Waitress says she will seat me in "a minute" but had to bus a lot of tables and pack a few to go orders after like 10 mins I decide to eat somewhere else. We've ordered delivery from here (via DoorDash) at least 4-5 times since COVID. If you're looking for a good menu of special rolls, this place is it! And the rolls are SOLID and HUGE. We tend to order about 3 special rolls + sashimi and from here, it was more than enough food. We recently had an incident we're we ordered a Crab lover and half of the ingredients were missing. Disappointed we called in 5 min before 2pm, their closing time before dinner. We dined here on a busy Friday night with two toddlers. Ordered bento boxes and two very simple sushi - unagi roll and shrimp tempura roll. Noticed how busy it was, we were very patient and understandable when no server come to check on us and we have to come to the servers to place orders or request items. After waited 20 mins, we had the unagi roll (already falling apart when served, busy day, no problem) and miso soups. We noticed the next table who were sited 15 mins after us and had been enjoying their rolls for quite some time, mindful we have two toddlers and it's almost 7:45 pm, my husband went up and asked a server very politely, when will the other sushi roll - shrimp tempura roll be ready. The very tall server responded: "we have a busy night, you gotta give us time. If you don't wanna wait, you can leave, okay?" We were in shock when we heard this. Another server overheard and immediately went to our table to apologize. We understand it's a busy night, but under no circumstances should customers being treated like that, especially we've been so patient and understanding. We ordered the sashimi 18 piece set that came with miso soup and salad. The salmon was soft and buttery. The tuna was great. The yellow tail was cool. The albacore was fantastic - the star of the sashimi spread. It was soft yet had a good solid texture. I was pleasantly surprised. Got the 2 item teriyaki chicken with gyoza and California rolls. Definitely some good stuff here! I have only been to a few sushi spots and keep it super simple with what I order because I'm not a huge fish/seafood fan. This is our local sushi joint! People are friendly and food is good. We mostly order sushi and the hamachi or salmon kama when we're here (which sometimes sells out). Food: We mostly order the rolls. They come in somewhere between $12-16 depending on the type your order. I really like the 49er roll which includes a lemon wedge to brighten things up. The Flaming Dragon is also really good - it comes out in a foil and they light it on fire so there's a great smokiness in that roll! Service: Pretty friendly and fast! They don't miss a beat. There was a mix up during Valentine's Day over the orders of a few tables (including ours) and they settled it right away. I'm ok with it since I get to use their 15% off coupon from the Safeway receipt next door. Has always been a great experience with the younger guy servers until I met "Victoria". She is older lady who doesn't speak English well. Had problem taking phone orders and had to repeat it a few times until she get its. During the pickup, she refused my coupon because the date was cut off so I went back to my car to get another one. She didn't seem happy at all and responded with condescending tone "you so clever?". I ordered online and it was a pretty quick and easy process. Unfortunately, the rolls were not good. I ordered the lion king roll and it's supposed to be a california roll with baked salmon on top with spicy mayo. It was unsatisfying and quite frankly... gross. I didn't get any salmon on the top. It was merely VERY THIN sliced fish skin and fat. I wish I took a photo of it. There was no pink/orange to indicate salmon whatsoever. I pulled the fish skin off and wiped off the sauce, it was milky clear and grey. Fish. Skin. The rice on my roll was also dry, hard and cold. Stale rice, My sister got the caterpillar roll and that was also very disappointing. The avocado on top was brown and the order was made 15 mins prior which means the avocado was probably old. Restaurant has a sushi bar and is moderately small in size, good for a small group of 6, would not recommend any party larger than 6. Seems like they were short on staff, only 2 staff members were waiting tables. We had to wait for quite a bit before someone came to take our orders. After our orders were taken, took more time to get our drinks. Had to prompt the waitress a few times before we got all of our orders. The food was pretty good. I came here for takeout lunch and ordered the bento box. Wanted to try something close and see how bentos tasted. I gave this place a 4 star because I honestly thought the food wasn't bad and the portion sizing was good for the price you would pay. Sometimes I crave a California roll. Super basic, right? Sake bomb sushi makes a tasty one. Fresh, good rice, tightly wrapped. We also had the Orange Blossom, which was enhanced by a light dip into wasabi spiked soy sauce. We phoned in our order and was quoted 20 minutes. Food was ready when we showed up and the employee who helped us was pleasant. There was hand sanitizer available, so I got to sanitize my hands after paying. Since the dining room was closed due to indoor dining prohibited during the current COVID pandemic health orders, we ate our food in our car in the huge parking lot shared with Marie Calendar and Safeway. Trash cans dotted the sidewalk of the strip mall, so we didn't have to take our takeout trash home with us, and avoided a soy sauce spill! Yay! read more

I am still new to the Japanese cuisine, I have been to only a handful of other places and from my overall experience, I would go with a 4 on this place. The restaurant is located in one of the shopping centers on El Camino Real (falls between Marie Callendars and Safeway) and is easy to locate. Went there on a Friday evening, the place was moderately packed so we got out table pretty quickly. I must say their service is commendable, they got us our orders in less than 10 mins. Also the menu comes with photos of most of the dishes which makes it easier to pick what yo want(eh, easy decision making for people like me ) The food I would say is somewhere around 3.5. I got their Veggie Lover Sushi, I appreciate the food since its hard to get Vegan Sushi but the rice were very dry in there which kind of ruined the overall taste. Also each roll was cut very big which made it harder to eat(it's big so either you stuff your mouth with the whole roll which then gets hard to chew or you bite it/cut it which means everything within it falls off ) My husband tried their Philadelphia roll and Deep Fried California roll which he said falls between 4 and 4.5. The quantity of sushi is okay but one roll per person kind of leaves you feeling hungry. I ordered a sushi roll, Flaming Dragon, togo for lunch. The top of the sushi roll was supposed to be salmon with sauce and some green onion. In the picture, it looked like beef but it was salmon in grey color. I wasn't sure why the salmon looked grey. I went back to the restaurant and asked if the salmon was fresh. The lady said salmon should look like this after baked. I asked if I could get a refund or exchange for another dish. Then, she took the box inside. I wasn't sure if she was checking with her manager. Anyway, she told me this is a baked roll and it should look like that. Nothing is wrong. I threw away the sushi after I left the restaurant. I really wasn't sure a baked salmon was supposed to look grey. I think wasted $20 is definitely better than a trip to emergency room. The last two times, we got this place together but we finally were able to dine in and we were more disappointed with our dine in experience than take out. I don't want to blame the waitresses - there were two. I guess it got busy but service was dissatisfying. Our edamame was forgotten so when our entrees came, we cancelled that appetizer. During our meal, we were not checked back on. We had to grab the waitresses' attention for help. When we were trying to check our and pay, they forgot about that request and I had to go up to the stand to ask for the check and to-go boxes. Holy cow. This place is so good! Something about Korean owned sushi restaurants in the bay is always so generous in their portions. We ordered two rolls and a sashimi plate and nearly had to be 'rolled' out of there... hah! Usually I'm pretty wary of places that emphasize on rolls as a lot of times they can cover up poorer quality seafood with more sauce and trimmings, but not only is the seafood fresh, the offered portions are large (and not just of rice!). Both the rolls (Safety Net and Flaming... something roll) came out aesthetically plated and had a ton of flavor. They do layer on the different sauces so I would personally ask for light sauce or sauce on the side next time. Overall am super excited to have this in the neighborhood. Highly recommend! This sushi spot used to be owned by different managers and I never had a good experience. Sake Bomb however has totally turned this place around.
