Picked up some sushi and thai food to go for Valentine's Day. I had been here before for sushi but never ordered the Thai food. Good quality and tasty! We ordered the Miso Soup, Tom Yum, FBI Roll and the Beef Pad Prik Khing. The Miso Soup was okay but the Tom Yum was delicious! Next time we will both have this soup. The FBI Roll was delicious! The rolls were huge and a great appetizer to share. Next time I will order this for myself :P The Pad Prik Khing was good! The beef was a little tough but the seasoning was on point. My bf heated up leftovers the next day and they still tasted delicious. Overall, a great place to eat in Stafford! Normally we venture out to Fredericksburg to Miso or Umi but looks like we can stay local now :) read more

Went here for the first time today. We were in time for the lunch specials. We started with the calamari appetizer and were plesently surprised. Next we ordered the sushi option and the bento box option. The sushi was on the smaller side (but what do you expect for a lunch special) the curry had a nice base but flavor as well as a mild heat intensity. Hubby also ordered a spicy soup (he thought it has too much fish oil) and a thai tea. The atmosphere is nice and be be intimate if you are lucky enough to get a booth with curtains. We were thrilled when we found a sushi place we loved in Stafford! I'm very picky when it comes to eel, and they have the best! (We even have a joke with one of the waiters about a "dancing eel pet"...Long story. :) The service is friendly, and the food is amazing. The yakisoba is fantastic, but we normally stick with the sushi because we love it so much! If you want to stay in the area, and not comprimise on quality, Sake is the place I recommend! read more

Great food in all 4 times I have been there! Servers and service are great and very friendly. I've been there when it was very busy, and also when it was slow. Food has been great in each scenario. I've only had the Pad noodles, Drunken noodles, a few sushi rolls and their sticky rice (as a dessert). I'd order all of them again and recommend friends to go there as well. read more

this is my favorite place of its kind in stafford. and it's kind you may ask...well it's kind is a bit of everything asian. it's the only place i can find pho in stafford. and it's surprisingly decent. it's not on the menu (i don't think) so you have to ask. and your choices are chicken or beef..but the beef is plentiful and tasty. i would guess shaved rib-eye. the sushi is also fresh tasting and good. the servers are nice and attentive. kids love the water that flows over glass when you enter. each booth has curtains that are pinned up. note, it is NOT okay to pull your curtain down for privacy! i saw a couple dining like that and it was awkward for everyone in the place. read more

My wife and I stopped by for a late Saturday night dinner. I had the spicy tuna roll which was good by my standards. My wife had the drunken noodles, no complaints there either. Unfortunately, when we attempted to place a second order for sushi at 10:15pm (they close at 11pm) we were told that the sushi bar was closed. Other than the disappointment of being unable to order well before closing time, the food and atmosphere were good. I'd recommend and possibly try again....but I'd come earlier. read more

Food is great! But for some reason the service has progressively gotten worse each visit. It's so disappointing because my partner and I really enjoyed coming here. But we will take our business elsewhere bc they seem to not care so much about the quality of service they provide. We stood at the hostess desk for about 10 minutes and no one came to seat us while a server was sitting at the table folding utensils into napkins. That's just one instance. I really hope this business does something about their quality of service bc its unfortunate. read more

I've been here only twice since they opened, which is a downright crime since I've been praying for Thai to come to Stafford for the last 12 years. I should preempt this by explaining that I LOVE Thai food. I've only had one truly bad Thai experience. While there are certainly places I prefer, mostly it's just varying degrees from pretty good to great. So, the first time we got two meals to go, Drunken Noodles and Chili Basil, and requested them "Thai Spicy." I do this because most Thai restaurants don't believe that Americans really like heat, but Sake took me at my word. Both dishes were good, though I thought the noodles were just a little oily, probably no more than at most places, though. On that meal, I placed Sake as a very acceptable establishment and was glad to have Thai that doesn't suck in my area. The second time was just a week or so ago and we dined in and got Pad See Ew and Pad Kaprow. The server was great; cheerful and attentive. Our drinks were kept filled, and he completely got it when I described that I wanted it a tad below Thai Spicy, "but not that wussy American Spicy. I'm not afraid." It was perfect; hot enough to mouth breath every once in a while, but could still taste all the flavor in the dish, which was spot on. This experience has me upgrading from, "Glad they don't suck!" to, "Yay! We actually got a GOOD Thai place in Stafford." Now if they only delivered. ;) I'll make sure to become a more frequent visitor. read more

The staff and food quality at this restaurant make me want to return often. All of the staff know where they sat us on the last occasion that we were there and greet us with questions relevant to the last time that they saw us. Remarkable!!! Truly, we have only had memorable meals here! We stick to the traditional Thai dishes. Every one is unique and delicious. Since we've frequented it often, we are usually given complimentary Bangkok donuts at the end of the meal. Yum! The only downside: The interior decorating is a bit dated and uninteresting. Don't get me wrong: Dive places can have interesting charm, but this isn't so much of a dive as it is just outdated. That said, all of the staff and menu options more than make up for the environment. I was in from out of town and in the mood for Sushi. I went to Yelp and found Sake. The restaurant didn't disappoint. I had the sushi/sashimi combo. The restaurant was busy, always an encouraging sign. Given that I had to wait for 15 minutes they comped me a bowl of miso soup which was very good. The meal was also very good. The fish was fresh and the presentation was excellent. While there someone ordered the Carnival Cruise, a signature dish, with about 40+ pieces of sushi. Like my meal the presenation was excellent. Excellent choice to dine in. Service was warm and accomodating. I will be certain to seek them out if I am in town again. read more

Sake has become our go-to place for both sushi and Thai food. The sushi is very fresh and they have a great variety. As for their Thai food, it is authentic and I say that having been to Thailand on several occasions. My sons, who are both in college, love it because they love spicy foods, and are able to get foods that are Thai spicy (which may be hotter than many can handle). For lunch, they've got some great specials at reasonable prices. At dinner, try the Crab Golden Purses or any of the Thai soups as appetizers. The pad thai reminds me of the classic dish I fell in love with in Bangkok. For desert, you must try the mango with sweet sticky rice. Also, their pork katsu reminds of the dish that we loved when we were stationed in Japan. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly reccommend Sake! read more

Went to Sake two weekends ago with a friend. It was very unassuming from the outside and didn't look like it would pan out. But as almost every mother says, "Don't judge a book by its cover," and I'm glad I didn't. It's very quaint inside. Each booth is its own section and gives the atmosphere a very intimate feel. I had the DEA roll and the California roll - one to step out and try something interesting and the next to keep it safe just in case the DEA roll didn't turn out good. My friend had the spicy crab roll and also the chicken Drunken Noodles. As a lover of orchids, once the plates came out with orchids on each I was floored and excited. Both rolls I had were very, very fresh, and the combination of the ingredients in the DEA roll were all well paired. I typically am not a huge fan of soy sauce due most of the brands being dosed in sodium, but the soy sauce they have was smooth and just the right amount of salt. It by no means was over powering. For two rolls and water as my drink, I paid about $20 - which in my mind isn't horrible for fresh, good sushi. I will return again to try some more rolls or possibly one of their entree options. read more

Who knew there was decent sushi in Stafford?!? We ordered appetizers and shared a sushi "Boat for You" to split between three. The sashimi was delicious, especially the salmon and white tuna. The nigiri and rolls were yummy too. Would definitely eat sushi here again! I did have to leave off a star for not so good service. read more

I keep giving this place more and more chances because they're local and have pretty solid lunch specials but every time I'm met with disappointment. Came in for lunch today and 2 of my 3 rolls were incorrect, missing one of the two ingredients I asked for. I also asked if I could have the rice on the outside vs inside...my daughter's rolls were all prepared this way, but mine had seaweed on the outside. The server argued with me, told me I should've said something about getting the rice on the outside in the first place (as if I could predict that they were going to make them this way?!)...but umm, 2 of the 3 rolls themselves were wrong so it had to be sent back anyway, why argue with me? She didn't even apologize or acknowledge that part. Then she comes back with the menu to point out where it shows that the seaweed is supposed to be on the outside for avocado rolls (but I had ordered avo + cuke rolls anyway, not avo rolls!). Okay great, but you're not taking accountability for the fact that my order was wrong...and why continue the argument?! Very unprofessional. And on top of it, the food is mediocre at best, and they wouldn't even prepare a soup minus fish sauce for me. I officially give up on this place. read more

The lovely security lady (name withed to protect the innocent) at work suggested this restaurant. I may try to buy her lunch for making the suggestion. The food was fantastic. It is a little dark in there, but kept clean. I like it. The building is old and hard to see from the road, but worth it if you can find it. I had the green curry. It was fantastic. I ordered it at level 4. ( 1-4 are the hotness scale with 1 being mild) It was hot as I had hoped. I will recommend Sake to anyone that ask me where to get Asian food in this area. read more

We went here for lunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere was great, I really liked the booths. We had the crab purse appetizer that was really tasty and was brought out in a timely fashion. For entrees my two daughters split sushi which they both really enjoyed. I had the Thai fried rice with chicken which was good but not as flavorful as my favorite Thai place in San Diego. My husband had the red curry shrimp and I think his was the best tasting. It had a great spicy flavor and plenty of large shrimp. In fact I put some of his broth on my dish and it gave the spicy flavor it was missing. The negative would be I thought the place was pricy for lunch. We will definitely return. read more

I got to go today. And not only was I treated and looked down on poorly in Thai (I speak and understand fluent Thai) I left the restaurant... Extremely unsatisfied. On top of that, when I got back my curry was spilled, what was supposedly green curry tasted plain,so was the Crying Tiger. I added soy sauce more chili I did everything I could to make it taste better (again.. I'm Thai.. Thai food is my department) but nothing worked. It was just BAD all around. And the fact that they said something about me in a different language which I understood, didn't do their already run down place justice. Right as you walk in you'll see a sign that says "Proper attire Required" sadly to say that will not class up the place. The restaurant is decorated with Mardi Gras beads, is set up and smells like an old gentlemen's club. I would never consider this place for anyone, and I don't think you want to be talked about in another language. Save your time and drive to Tarntip in Fredericksburg.
