Been looking for this cuisine and finally it's here in Greensboro. The food was full of flavor and they have fresh drinks for sale. I got the fish with jollof rice, also come with cabbage and a side of hot sauce! The owner was nice and basically recommended everything so I will have to go back. There's plenty of seats, indoor and out. Big parking space. The vibe was friendly and very welcoming. I will be back to try the okra soup!

I love how the west African food scene in Greensboro is growing! They do have a few seats on the interior, but it seems to be more of a takeout spot. This place was amazing. I'm Nigerian but I've never tried Senegalese food before. I still prefer Nigerian jollof/djolof rice but Senegal clearly knows that they are doing. The rice was so good and the lamb was perfectly cooked. I'm excited to try some other things on the menu.

Very good west African food. Senegal yall did well. I got the jollof rice which was seasoning well. It came with chicken and mixed vegetables on the side plus their onion sauce, very tasty and flavorful. We make it different in Liberia as any other country. Will be back to try the cassava leaf, their egusi with fufu of course and attiéké. Also I didn't see any kelewele and I want to try their ginger beer. Will be back for sure.

Y'all, this is one of those cases where a place that I JUST ate at was impressive enough to jump the entire line of places I still need to review, because you need to know about it. These lovely folks from Senegal would love your business, and to cook you up a fresh, hearty, and likely very original meal (to you, most likely). It is the first of it's kind that I'm aware of in the Triad, and while I don't have a baseline to compare it too, I would say I really enjoyed my first foray into Senegalian cuisine! This place would be considered about 99% take out only. There is a small table and lunch counter where one could feasibly enjoy their food there. Everything will be served package to go, no matter your preference. There are bottled drinks available, and if their selection doesn't fancy you, they are attached to a gas station convenience store. I think this used to be a DQ or DD, there is an archway that used to give it a direct connection, but that remains shut now. I walked in and asked the owner to recommend something to me, and that I am an adventurous eater, so would love something native to their origins. She immediately started talking about their African dishes, and I was most intrigued by "Mafe" a stew of beef, cabbage, sweet potato, carrot, and... peanut butter. This wasn't my first peanut butter on beef trip. I had PB&J on a burger recently, and loved it! This was served like a very thick curry, with a large side of jasmine rice. The stew was hearty, even fresh from a workout, I only ate half. The leftovers were brilliant heated up next day. The flavors were divine. Tender veggies and beef, not overly rich but very present peanut taste. I also got a couple appetizers to share with my wife. They have their version of an empanada or samosa there, I think called Fataya. DO. NOT. MISS. THESE. The exterior was buttery, crispy, almost fried wonton like but flaky. The inside, rich in spice and flavor. Paired with their sauce, it was magic. I could eat then en masse. I also got us some egg rolls, made in their style. They have veggies and vermicelli noodle inside. Very good. But that Fataya STOLE the show. WOW. Warning. Their hot sauce is literally hot pepper paste. It is super flavorful, but it WILL burn you out. Tread carefully with your first dip. Overall. I was super impressed. The owners are charismatic and kind. I love their beautiful accent. They are making incredible food. I want to try a sandwich, but it will be hard to stop me from ordering Fataya and a Senegalese dish from now on! Support local and give these folks your business!

I really wanted to like this restaurant but I can't honestly give it a recommendation from my repeated experiences. On my last, and final, visit I ordered three menu items. Vermicelli, Mafa, and two orders of fataya (3 pieces per order). I was astonished by the prices that have all gone up on everything. Vermicelli $19, Mafa $15, and the fataya was 6.50. I waited patiently as the service once again took a long 35 minutes to make my order which seems to be their average food time. What struck me as odd was in the middle of waiting another customer went to pay for their order but complained "this price is too high" so the cashier responded "that's fine, what do you want to pay? I'll change it" agreeing to a discount. It felt to me they acknowledge how unreasonably high their prices were and changed them preferentially. Once I got my food home to eat I was beyond disappointed. The flavors I once enjoyed from them had changed to an overwhelmingly sweet note in every dish. I'll start with the Vermicelli. It was a travesty. My meat was 60% bones while already being a small portion. The sweetness in the onion sauce and raisins in the vermicelli over powered a lot of subtle flavors which made the dish way too sweet for my liking. Not a good dish and not worth 19 dollars. The Mafa was good with the main flavors of sweet potatoes and peanut butter paired to the meat. After the fourth bite though I found it hard to finish. It lacked an equal portion of meat so the dish was mainly bite after bite of just sweet potato overwhelming everything else. Felt more like eating a thanksgiving desert. The Fataya was so different from the samosa/empanada I had originally. No choice between chicken or beef either. It's filling had a sweet vinaigrette taste with no spiciness. Not very tasty. As friendly as the staff is the quality of their food has not matched their increased prices. I wish them the best as I bid a farewell to Saint Louis Saveurs.

Okra Soup Special with foufou, and Fataya with a side of hot sauce

Amazing African food! This is senegalese food, the lovely food of SeneFatayagal! I am never disappointed. The people are lovely here and are happy to tell you about their food. I recommend teaching yourself about their menu before ordering so you dont miss out on anything especially delicious. A favorite of mine is their Okra Soup with foufou (pounded, fermented yam and plantain). Be sure to eat the fufu with your hands and dip it in the soup! I also love their Bissap juice which is like a sweet, hibiscus-mint juice. I like their okra soup a bit more than Ghanaian okra soup i found out- they cook theirs through, while Ghanain okra soup its more slimy. Definitely worth the try, and if you like spicy, be sure to ask for a side of hot sauce to dump in your soup! I also tried their Fataya which is also good, flavorful, and with perfect texture. I sat in the restaurant and enjoyed myself very much! It is small though, so maybe not best for a very large party.

    The Cheesesteak Sandwich with fries

A coworker suggested this place to me. I ordered the cheesesteak plate that goes with fries. The amount of food is worth the price. But the sub had too many onions for my taste, I ate the other half of the sub before taking the picture. I recommend :)

An interesting new restaurant on the corner of Wendover and Cridland Avenue serving Senegalese cuisine. Their standard menu is salads, sandwiches and wraps but they also have specials and that is what I'd recommend. I had the chicken and rice that was served with a cucumber salad and a warm onion compote, for lack of a better description. As a tater, I also got a small side of chicken with rice that reminded me a bit of a fried rice. The chicken on my main meal was a bit dry but was quite flavorful and well spiced. I also got a side of hot sauce and it was excellent with the c. The rice was fine on its own but excellent when I mixed in the onion compote. I'd get this again. The owner was cooking but came out and was delightful...her daughter was working the counter. It is a family run business and they are working hard to create a place to enjoy delicious, authentic Senegalese food. I wish them well.

This makes my 3rd time at this restaurant and I was so elated at the service that I received. Also, the food was very good and hot. The atmosphere is phenomenal friendly employees. I will definitely eat there again.

Started with the appetizer special which was a sampler of apps, and our server was nice enough to sub in some pretzel bites for us. All of the apps were good though, hot and fresh and even more importantly, tasty. We got the mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, and bangin shrimp. For the main dish I got the spicy smash burger and added bacon. The burger was pretty tasty, both patties were juicy and overall it was the perfect spice. I will say, the burger patties themselves didn't really seem like smash style patties, they were fairly thicker and seemed to be normal grilled patties. Having two was almost too much burger to bun/topping ratio in my opinion. Fries could have been a little more seasoned and crispy as well, but that's more of a personal preference. Also got the Dark and Stormy cocktail as well. It was a nice and refreshing drink to get the meal started, two rums with lime juice, vanilla, and soda water. Overall, the meal was pretty good, and would still come back again!

My wales saw my water getting low and said she was coming with more water. I finished my water she came by and asked if we needed anything.... Water please. With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. The servers were pleasant and the place wasn't crowded at all. A total of 4 other parties were in and out during our visit.

Pretty much everything I said in my last review still totally stands. I don't get to come here as much as I used to, but it's still a place I probably go once a month. My favorite thing here is still their classic reuben. While I wouldn't call it a traditional reuben, I love the way they prepare it. Chopping together the meat and kraut on the hot flat top grill, as well as the buttered and grilled rye bread and russian dressing, it's just such a tasty sandwich all combined like that. The other thing I love here is to build my own salad, especially with their pesto grilled chicken. It's always tender, and matches great with their balsamic vinaigrette. You get your choice of any toppings on the sub table, and it really makes for a filling and healthy meal packed with protein. All jokes aside, Sub Spot is a good representation of a neighborhood sandwich shop, replete with a no-frills (though clean) interior and Boar's Head meats. They may not be fancy, but they are good at what they do. I walked in craving a cheesesteak but was nearly swayed by the brisket sandwich listed as a special. Had I not known what I wanted, I would have had plenty to choose from: hot and cold sandwiches, salads, wings, kebabs, and more. They will let you customize toppings a la Subway (I added peppers, onions, and chipotle sauce), and they completed my order for takeout very quickly. Much like Jersey Mike's, Sub Spot serves up a far better cheesesteak than you'd expect at first glance. The bread was soft, the cheese melty, the meat and veggies savory and satisfying (and none too greasy). If you're accustomed to a sandwich stuffed to the gills with meat, you might be disappointed, but I didn't find the quantity to be too paltry. Given what's nearby, Sub Spot probably wouldn't be my first choice for lunch in the area, but it is convenient, reasonably priced, and tasty, a solid option all around.
