My favorites were the Banh Mi Bo Ne and the Nui Xao Bo. Banh Mi Bo Ne - The pate for the bo ne is made in house, and let me tell you, it is DELICIOUS. The meat is well cooked and flavorful. I do wish the bread was cut up a bit to make it easier to dip, but that is a personal preference. Nui Xao Bo - Loved this dish! I haven't had a nui dish in years, and this was so comforting. It had a stronger tomato taste, so if you're not a fan of tomatoes, try another dish. Other dishes I enjoyed: Canh Ga Chien (fried chicken wings, NOT nuoc mam chicken wings though in case you were wondering) and Com Ca Salmon. Drinks: I got the Sinh To Bo (Avocado Smoothie). Other places sometimes don't add enough avocado but Saigonview does not. They make it perfectly, you can really taste the avocado!! and now Saigonview is one of my top choices for this drink! Really good, authentic Vietnamese breakfast/ lunch spot. Eating here felt like eating at home. Environment was full of OGs, place was comfy and they even had a patio. The restaurant is located in an outside shopping center, close to super markets, bakeries, small mom and pop shops. Definitely a place to get a good meal in and enjoy shopping. I was in town visiting family and wanted to try something new and saw Saigon View as an option. The menu that we saw online was outdated, assuming it was probably their soft opening menu. My dad got the Saigon View garlic noodle with fried shrimp. You can barely taste the garlic so it was pretty bland. Whereas the shrimp was pretty charred. The other entree we had was the canh bun dac biet. It wasn't dac biet (special) at all. This place was new so I wanted to give it a try. Wouldn't be coming back for small portions that were overpriced. Lesson learned! read more

Simple menu, good food and friendly service! Wifey and I decided to try a new Vietnamese restaurant in the area. It was empty on a Tuesday night, so we had the place all to ourselves. Quick glance at the menu and it was easy to narrow down our choices; lately, I prefer that versus a menu that has everything, which makes it difficult to order. Wife got the banh canh tom cua (Vietnamese udon with crab and shrimp) and I got the nui xao bo (stir fried pasta noodles with beef cubes). The pasta noodles were savory and buttery, and the filet cubes tender (cooked medium rare). They also have a sauce that resembles a sweeter, lighter soy sauce that went perfect with the noodles and the filet cubes. Tomatoes, scallions, white onions and cilantro added some fragrance and flavor to the dish. Tried some of the banh canh tom cua, and it was delicious! Broth was thick and hot, burning my mouth as I sipped. It was slightly sweet, and the fish sauce was very subtle (I prefer it that way for banh canh). The noodles weren't as thick as other places, and I didn't see much crab, though they put plenty of shrimp and a pork sparerib in it! There are probably other places to buy banh canh at, but I liked this restaurant's version, as it was more balanced (and not as thick and slimy as other traditional banh canh restaurants). The Bo Luc Lac (Shaken beef) was on the sweet side so it was a little awkward for me. Eating sweet meat? Yeah, not for me unfortunately. I was hoping to bite into a garlicky savory bite, but it wasn't the case at all! The beef marinade must've been too sweet, and even the vinaigrette that they usually use for the salads was on the sugary side. So you don't a tang like you would expect in a classic dish like this. They did have like a watery soy sauce that you can dip on the side, but at that point it's pointless, right?? The beef should be the one to satisfy all your savory senses! Also got the Banh Mi Bo Kho (Beef stew with piece of baguette). I was also disappointed with this. Flavor was okay but the TEXTURE of the beef was so tough. =[ Beef stew is supposed to melt in your mouth or have chewy pieces of tendon here and there. Second time, portion seems smaller. However, the flavor and everything was still the same. As for the water noodle dishes. It's decent. It would have tasted a bit better if the banh canh had a somewhat more chewier noodle texture. I am not a big fan of this place. I placed a big order to pick up because I wanted to try something new with my grandparents. I ordered four plates of food and three drinks. There weren't many options for vegetarian people, pescetarian, etc. Most items had pork and beef. My favorite item was the Vietnamese coffee with coconut milk. I was MIND BLOWN. This coffee is sooo good. On a lighter side, I must warn you if you're a young female and come here; please be prepared for older men to stare at you in front of the store. I felt this part was necessary to add because it adds to the atmosphere of the resturant. If you're not comfortable with this - then proceed to the restaurant at a different time when all the men are home. (LOL) To me, I don't mind it because it's just the culture. However, THAT is not why I'm giving this place a three-star. The restaurant can't control the minds of their customers. Can't believe I live right around the corner and never gave this place a try! It's inside an old plaza next to Mom's supermarket & THH. We tried the Bo ne (steak on a sizzling platter) and it was one of the best we've had! The meat was surprisingly very tender and soft, full of flavor!! And comes with a salad, baguette, side of pate and 2 sunny side up eggs. Delish! We also tried the Bun rieu and it was also really good! So glad there's a place that serves this dish closer to FV. Normally, I don't write a bad review. I think this might be my 1st one star. I'm feeling this way because I ordered a Pho Ga Di Bo, like many, I caught a cold and wanted chicken soup. Everything is fine when I take the order home. I make a right and the food in the bag tilts and as tried to balance it I burned my hand because they didn't close the lid or wrap a plastic bag over the soup. The pork, which should have been in nice thin slices, was instead replaced with some sort of minced meat scattered all around. The bean sprout and onion were both raw; the onion was still bitter and the sprout was hard and cold. It felt as if the batter was cooked and the minced meat and raw vegetables were tossed on after the fact...considering it took well over 15 minutes for it to arrive, you'd expect the food to at least be cooked. The service was fine. The female servers were tentative, took our orders and made the drinks quickly. I am a 9 year old. My reviews are not perfect. My 5 year old brother said that the sugarcane drink is the best and that you should get it for your kids. The Vietnamese steak and eggs was very yummy. The steak was very tender and had good taste. The egg was nice and yolky. It comes with bread to dip in the sauce that the steak and eggs were in. The beef stew was also very yummy. The stew was excellent and with the bread it was amazing. The beef was also tender and delicious. For the drink I would definitely get the sugarcane drink.
