i came in on a saturday afternoon and was seated fairly quick. my friend and i shared one dish and it came out within 10 mins of ordering despite the busy weekend. my only complaint is that the waiters didn't bring our waters until after the 5th time we had asked. the dish we ordered was very delicious and the sauce was so addicting! however, i do prefer the one they offer at nep.
Ok, I feel like I found my favorite easy spot for good Vietnamese food in OC. The ambiance was no frills, but I enjoyed the TV and live music playing outside for Tet. Food came out pretty quickly and tasted amazing! The service was quick and easy. I will be back!
Advertised 9.99 Bun Rieu Finding parking can be quite challenging . Restaurant was quite full around noon time. Broth- flavor is quite good. Temperature of the broth should be served hotter as it wasn't hot enough to my liking. Very small serving of shrimp paste. Greens were fresh and chili was definitely packed some heat. Would come back to try their take on pho.
We arrived and even though we were a large party, they sat us down quickly. I ordered the Vietnamese beef stew with French bread and Vietnamese coffee with coconut milk. Broth on the soup was very good. The meat was tender and they served the bread nice and warm. The coffee was excellent. My advice is to let the ice melt some as it is very strong. It is strong, but very good! Service was solid and they were attentive throughout our meal. Overall, a great experience and I can recommend this place for anyone that wants a great casual meal.
My boyfriend has been on the lookout for the best place to get Bo Ne so we came across this place! Lots of menu selections and interestingly includes some Western foods including macaroni or Thai food like Pad Thai. I got the Bo Luc Lac with a Nuoc Mia Rau Ma. I always get these at Vietnamese restaurants and sometimes they don't come out in one portion where it's not the typical shareable dish. It came with rice, veggies, and a small bowl of soup! Such a perfect combination and definitely had me full at the end of the meal. The meat was tender and not chewy at all. As for the drink, it was really refreshing and delicious if you're both a sugarcane and pennywort fan. I tried a bit of my boyfriend's Bo Ne and felt like he could find better. It wasn't too bad if you wanted a quick bite for lunch. As for his Soda Chanh, it had more lemon-y taste to it than a good balance with the soda to it. The workers are attentive and act quick! We'll prob come back and give it a try if we were looking to try their other dishes.
This atmosphere is great for a viet restaurant! Very upbeat clean and modern interior. I like it that they play younger demographic music with 6 different tvs going on with different sports. Definitely a great place to hang out in the afternoon or evening. Now for the food - what we tried for our first time was also great! I recommend the sup NUI that's what I had it's comforting and the pork is not dry. Their bot chien is also good and my husband had the banh canh dac biet my husband said it was 7/10. They make a good coffee and limonade overall we will be back highly recommend.
I had: ~The Bò Né which consisted of fried eggs, sizzling beef, pâté, onions, and a baguette. Thoughts: Overall, I thought the Bò Né was pretty good. Meat was tender, eggs were cooked at the consistency that I liked, and the onions were sautéed well. The only thing that threw me off was that it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Besides that, I liked the dish and I give extra points for the baguette and the mini salad/veggie side that came with it. I also want to mention that the staff is pretty friendly:) Note: I might come again to try their other Viet dishes.
We came here specifically for the Banh Mi Bo Ne (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak). It was amazing!! The flavor of the sauce was perfect. The meat was nice and tender. The eggs were cooked perfectly. This is probably one of the best beef steaks I've had outside of Vietnam. Ive been dreaming of having this meal again. We also ordered the fried rice, cake and egg. It was also good but I wish we had order two of the beef steak instead. If you come here you MUST order the beef steak!! The service was nice and friendly. My wife's side of the family is Vietnamese and they were talking to them in Vietnamese. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, lots of plants, clean and lots of seating. I'll 100% be back next time I'm in time in town.
This is where you go for real Viet food! Amazing experience. Space is more modern and upscale but service is Asian - so don't expect western style service. Food was excellent. Definitely returning for their Viet breakfast signature dish - Bo Ne Viet steak & eggs. Where they get their banh mi bread was a mystery but the best - so realistic. Bun rieu was very good - not salty - no crab shell pieces - very tasty and satisfying.
Tried Saigon View for the 1st time and got the Bo Ne (sizzling steak) to try and it did not disappoint! Delicious, cooked to perfection and so flavorful! I recommend getting the Steak! Honorable mentions: -Huge parking lot (but gets packed fast due to neighboring stores) -Accepts credit card
I love the Asian macaroni style. When i see this location has the dish I was little hesitant because 8 out of 10 times i order from different places, they would give me the American macaroni instead. I was so happy when I see they actually use the correct macaroni. The shaken beef was soft and very tasty. They wrap with foil paper so after 25 minutes on the road, it wad still warm. A lot of garlic for garlic lover. Good portion for an ideal brunch. The only problem I experienced was my drink order. I ordered thru UberEat for sugarcane. They called me and let me know that they were out. I said Im okay with rau ma (pennywort) for replacement. 30 minutes later I receive a cup of milk. I told the Uber deliver guy this is not what I expect to receive. He said the restaurant just replace it because they dont have the other drink neither. You cannot imagine how mad I was. I called the restaurant right away and let them that they should call me back again if they are out of stuff. Dont assume to give me milk, Im lactose tolerance. Oh well, they refund me my drink which is good.

My table and I ordered first but the dishes for a different table came out first. Then I asked for a new piece of bread because the first one was moldy but when the second piece of bread came out, it had a weird smell. The food was good but I don't know if I would recommend this place. read more

What's not to like about baguette, eggs and steak for breakfast. Comes with a mini salad so you can get your greens in in the morning. They say as at. A large table when we first came in since it was the only one available. They took out order and once a smaller table was available we moved to it. Food came out in a decent amount of time. read more

***I did witnessed bad hygiene practice. A customer sent back his black coffee after tasting it because it needed more sugar. A male worker added sugar and used a stirring spoon--stirred it to dissolve the sugar. Then the male worker put back the spoon for another worker to use. That. Is. Gross. Considering that the customer already sipped his coffee, why would you put back the spoon into the spoon bucket for another worker to use to stir another customer's coffee.....All I could think of was coronavirus. **** germs. Germs. Germs. Food: - $13 sizzling beef plate (Bo Ne): doesn't come out sizzling like other places. Favor is there though. - $11 Bun Dau Mam Tom: excellent shrimp sauce and flavoring of the meat and sausages. Steamed pork portion is smaller compared to other places that serve this dish-- just a few thinly sliced pork meat. Lettuce is chopped instead of served as whole leaves so you have to eat in a bowl. Ha Noi Corner and Mon Ami Cafe make this dish better and portion size is bigger for around the same price. My Bo Ne is great. Meet is tender. My parents got Bun Rieu and they said it is ok. They were really busy but food came out within acceptable time limits. Busy parking lot especially Sunday morning and the restaurant seem lack of staffs. read more

The food here is great but the waitress at time is moody asf she probably didn't get laid or something. I'm a regular here I come here with my family all the time. Food is always on point and the place is clean but always crowded and its not a quiet place. The place is hard to find a parking spot too since there's a super market nearby. Recommended this place to everyone you won't be disappointed read more

GOOD PLACE MUST TRY!!! My first time trying Banh Mi Bo Ne...it was so amazing. The beef was tender and was cooked almost perfectly, comes with 2 fried eggs and pate. I also ordered Banh Canh Tom Cua and turned out it was the best Banh Canh I've ever had. The broth was good and thick with great flavor. Restaurant is very beautiful inside and spacious. Service was excellent too. I would highly recommend this place!!! read more

I was in town visiting family and wanted to try something new and saw Saigon View as an option. The menu that we saw online was outdated, assuming it was probably their soft opening menu. My dad got the Saigon View garlic noodle with fried shrimp. You can barely taste the garlic so it was pretty bland. Whereas the shrimp was pretty charred. The other entree we had was the canh bun dac biet. It wasn't dac biet (special) at all. This place was new so I wanted to give it a try. Wouldn't be coming back for small portions that were overpriced. Lesson learned! read more

Really good, authentic Vietnamese breakfast/ lunch spot. Eating here felt like eating at home. Environment was full of OGs, place was comfy and they even had a patio. The restaurant is located in an outside shopping center, close to super markets, bakeries, small mom and pop shops. Definitely a place to get a good meal in and enjoy shopping. My friend visited me from out of town, and wanted to try some good Vietnamese food. So we came here! Love the atmosphere, and devoured the food. I ordered eggs and baguette with pate. Scrumptious. My friend ordered the pho ga. Everything was fresh and so satisfying. Service was great. Will be back again next time I'm in the area. read more

Simple menu, good food and friendly service! Wifey and I decided to try a new Vietnamese restaurant in the area. It was empty on a Tuesday night, so we had the place all to ourselves. Quick glance at the menu and it was easy to narrow down our choices; lately, I prefer that versus a menu that has everything, which makes it difficult to order. Wife got the banh canh tom cua (Vietnamese udon with crab and shrimp) and I got the nui xao bo (stir fried pasta noodles with beef cubes). The pasta noodles were savory and buttery, and the filet cubes tender (cooked medium rare). They also have a sauce that resembles a sweeter, lighter soy sauce that went perfect with the noodles and the filet cubes. Tomatoes, scallions, white onions and cilantro added some fragrance and flavor to the dish. Tried some of the banh canh tom cua, and it was delicious! Broth was thick and hot, burning my mouth as I sipped. It was slightly sweet, and the fish sauce was very subtle (I prefer it that way for banh canh). The noodles weren't as thick as other places, and I didn't see much crab, though they put plenty of shrimp and a pork sparerib in it! There are probably other places to buy banh canh at, but I liked this restaurant's version, as it was more balanced (and not as thick and slimy as other traditional banh canh restaurants). I would definitely come back and try some other dishes! Support your local eateries! read more

I gave it a 5 because I enjoyed the food. I tried it for the first time last night. Mine was a take out order experience. The staffs were friendly. I ordered two entrees: banh canh cua va cha, and nui xao bo. I enjoyed my meal very much. I am an easy eater, but I have tried these entrees at other restaurants. I can only say in comparison to what I had tasted before. I liked the savory tastes from these two entrees that I ordered. I will definitely come back to try other entrees. All the best! read more

I wish I could've loved this place like the reviews below but this place just wasn't for me. =( I'm just writing this review because I wish someone would've mentioned this to me in the first place. The Bo Luc Lac (Shaken beef) was on the sweet side so it was a little awkward for me. Eating sweet meat? Yeah, not for me unfortunately. I was hoping to bite into a garlicky savory bite, but it wasn't the case at all! The beef marinade must've been too sweet, and even the vinaigrette that they usually use for the salads was on the sugary side. So you don't a tang like you would expect in a classic dish like this. They did have like a watery soy sauce that you can dip on the side, but at that point it's pointless, right?? The beef should be the one to satisfy all your savory senses! Also got the Banh Mi Bo Kho (Beef stew with piece of baguette). I was also disappointed with this. Flavor was okay but the TEXTURE of the beef was so tough. =[ Beef stew is supposed to melt in your mouth or have chewy pieces of tendon here and there. But the whole thing just took me forever to chew. Lol Maybe if you're like the type to like it hard and chewy then you might like this! Sadly, I don't think I would be coming back. I didn't finish my food at all, but hey - everyone has a diff. palate right? Super friendly service though! Wishing you guys the best! read more

Came here for a family dinner. Definitely comeback. Great service, good food and great atmosphere! I got the shaken beef with noodles. It's bomb. Love it! The food here is pretty cheap and the portions are are a decent amount. The Banh mi bo ne was my favorite thing here! The meat was nicely cooked and there was lots of flavor in the paté. I was told it was made in house which is cool to know! Also tried the salmon rice and I think it dethrones Luc Dinh Ky for my favorite new salmon rice! Solid Vietnamese place! read more
If it wasn't for the free Thai ice tea, I wouldn't give this place any more stars than what it deserves. I ordered a popcorn chicken and it never came out. Was excited to try but too bad. My friends all finished their food and it still hasn't come out so I had to cancel it. It was hard to wave down a waiter. Although the owner came out and assist, she isn't even second look out at our table. I tried to get her attention but she ignored me and served her friends instead. She kept asking that table how was the food and if things were ok. She didn't even come to our table or even glance over. We got a bun rieu and it's not that great. The broth was very bland and the color did not look appealing. The bowl is quite small for $9. I've had better and bigger. And better service! We also got the banh da cua be noodle soup. It was also bland. A new kind of noodles with interesting recipe. There's a beef roll in wild betel leaf. There's also crab paste, water mimosa, and water crest veggies. It was ok. Didn't taste that great. I recommend to try once, but I would not come back here. read more

We came during soft opening so we have free one jasmine/thai milk tea per person. I ordered banh da cua, which was not very special. It actualy did not taste like banh da cua. But it's acceptable though. However, my parents ordered banh canh and bun rieu which were a highlight, especially banh canh. My mom like banh canh very much. The waitress were friendly and nice. They just grand opening and I decided to give them a try. The place is very nice, clean and urban and the staff is very friendly. The have promo grand opening free Thai tea or jasmine milk tea The menu has many selection to choice from which is a bonus. I order Nui Xao Bo (Shaken Beef with Macaroni) It was so delicious, it was so unexacting now good it was. The beef was very tender, premium fillet beef, the dish is very flavorful and rich. It was freshly made so you can taste the juicy of the beef. By far the best Nui Xao Bo I have ate. I also order Soda Dau Tay ( Stawberry Sparkling) was very freaking and Da Me (ice tangerine) "MUST TRY" it very bomb! Overall I'm impress with the food and the drinks. And the price is affordable. This is the third time I have been eating at SaigonView and this dish never disappointed me. Filet mignon used for steak and it's melting in your mouth just like butter with good flavor. It also comes with fresh salad and bread, so it's $13.00 is good price. And I ordered ginger hot tea this time, and it's so good too - keep your stomach warm in cold weather Besides the food and drink so yummy, the decorations of the restaurant so chic with yellow chairs and gray tables and floor - very modern and eye catching. Highly recommend for everyone to come check it out the food and drinks. read more

FOOD: Top 3 favorites 1) Com Ga Xe goi: the chicken salad is cool and refreshing, with the right amount of acidity. the rice is similar to that of a hainan chicken dish. great flavor just from the rice itself. great dish for the summer. 2) House special Garlic Noodles w/ Shrimp: they give u some giant shrimps and the noodles are doused with butter and garlic. Very rich and flavorful dish. 3) Banh Canh Tom cua dac biet. SERVICE: nice outdoor seating. waiters can be slow at times, but overall solid customer service. MISC: Would NOT recommend their BEEF dishes, as the meat can be abit tough. OVERALL: Found this lil gem during the covid lockdown early on, as they were one of the first Vietnamese restaurants that allowed outdoor dining. Great local spot in Fountain Valley. My husband and I have eaten here multiple times since they first opened, and we have been here a few times recently for lunch as well. My husband likes to order the bo ne (sizzling beef with egg, liverworst, bread, and salad) and I have tried the banh xeo (Vietnames crepe with ground pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts), bun rieu (vermicelli noodles with crab and tofu), bo luc lac (shaken beef), and bo kho (beef stew with bread). The restaurant is available for both indoor and outdoor dining. Employees and customers are all masked up. Really good vibe. Food were hit and miss. The 'bun rieu' was good. Broth is on the cleaner side, flavor was good but not strong. The nui dish was not too good. Pasta was undercooked. Our friend had the 'bo ne' dish. It was on the smaller side. Can't believe I live right around the corner and never gave this place a try! It's inside an old plaza next to Mom's supermarket & THH. We tried the Bo ne (steak on a sizzling platter) and it was one of the best we've had! The meat was surprisingly very tender and soft, full of flavor!! And comes with a salad, baguette, side of pate and 2 sunny side up eggs. Delish! We also tried the Bun rieu and it was also really good! So glad there's a place that serves this dish closer to FV. It was flavorful, perfect amount of meats as well. Even my daughter enjoyed eating it when she doesn't normally eat bun rieu. The menu also had a variety of other delish items such as bot chien, soup nui, beef with nui noodles, and even sweet potatoes fries. They also have a variety of drinks and also have Sugarcane drinks! Different variety such as mixed with pennyworth (rau ma) to even durian. They also have smoothies like avocado smoothies that looked really good. We went during lunch time during Covid times, so they had their seats outdoor and and it was still packed with customers. Can't wait to come back and try more items! read more

First time trying this restaurant. 4.5 stars so it couldn't be that bad right? Ordered two dishes, 1 came out relatively quickly but the banh xeo took over 15 minutes to come out AFTER the drinks and the first dish, not from when we ordered. Banh xeo was extremely disappointing. I understand if it isn't one of their primary dishes but if you're going to place an item on your menu, at least do it some justice...not asking for perfection, just some effort. The pork, which should have been in nice thin slices, was instead replaced with some sort of minced meat scattered all around. The bean sprout and onion were both raw; the onion was still bitter and the sprout was hard and cold. It felt as if the batter was cooked and the minced meat and raw vegetables were tossed on after the fact...considering it took well over 15 minutes for it to arrive, you'd expect the food to at least be cooked. The service was fine. The female servers were tentative, took our orders and made the drinks quickly. There was, however, a male server who was talking to another coworker as if no one was in the restaurant; loud and obnoxious. read more
