23 Bn Tht Nng (Grilled Pork Vermicelli)
Terrell R.

I popped into this Vietnamese spot for a quick lunch outing. It's a smaller spot hidden between the various rows of establishments in old town Alexandria. On the inside there's a few small wooden tables and chairs that populate the fairly plain but clean space, as well as a bar with several seats and a couple of TV's located towards the back of the restaurant. Their menu features the typical Vietnamese fair with appetizers like summer rolls, a variety of protein options for banh mi sandwiches, about 10 different pho options, and rice and protein dish combinations with prices ranging from $10-$20. I decided on the vermicelli dish with grilled pork and the crisp spring roll, and a Thai iced tea. The service was solid and the food came out in a timely manner. The Thai iced tea was really good a little less sweet than I'm accustomed too but I found that to be a positive. As for the vermicelli dish it was excellent: good presentation, the pickled carrots, cucumbers, and bean sprouts were fresh, the spring roll was crunch with a nice combination of ingredients inside, and I found the grilled pork to be flavorful and fairly tender. All in all zero complaints about this experience and I'd highly recommend giving them a try.

This place is a gem. The beef banh mi? Total showstopper--crispy bread, juicy beef, and flavors that pop with every bite. The pho lineup is just as impressive; my crew tried a few different bowls and not a single drop went to waste. Pro tip: Don't feed the meters. Park a few blocks out, save your cash, and call it your warm-up walk before the feast. Highlights: * Beef banh mi that slaps * Pho with depth and variety * Prime old town spot * Free parking if you're savvy I'll be back--probably sooner than I should admit.

Cute place in old town Alexandria. Perfect for the cold weather. Portions are a little Small, but flavor is good. We didn't get our drinks so just told them to cancel mid way through our meal. Had to ask for things 2, 3 times before getting it. I think they were busy and not expecting the crowd? 7 out of 10 for me. Enjoy.

Really good Vietnamese restaurant option in Old Town Alexandria! If you're seeing a show at the Little Theater of Alexandria, this place is a convenient 6-minute walk away. Lots of pluses - first, the interior decor is pleasant and spacious but also informal and welcoming. Second, the pho here is very good. I tried the Bun Bo Hue which was hearty and infused with pork broth. The only minor blemish was the dessert which took nearly 15 minutes to prepare and was not very satisfying. The restaurant became more crowded on Saturday evening. Overall, I would definitely come here again but will skip the dessert options to save time!

What a gem at Old Town Alexandria! I had the impression that the food was catered towards the local population but no, the taste was authentic and similar to the quality one sees in Eden Center. Location - it is right in the middle of King's Street, parking on the street or nearby garage Decor - restaurant is nicely decorated with some Vietnamese oil paint, it feels spacious and simple Service - fast service, the manager goes around and checks in with guests to make sure they are doing ok Food - a big menu, food does not disappoint, spring rolls and pork wrap are delicious, the pho broth is fresh and the food portion is bigger than expected Will recommend!

The wife and I came in on a Saturday for lunch and really enjoyed our Bahn mi sandwiches. We both had the pork ones with spring rolls as an appetizer. The rolls were made in house and very tasty. The sandwiches were also very good and we left satisfied and happy. Try this place out for a quick and tasty lunch.

My first time trying Vietnamese food at Saigon Rolls on King Street was amazing. We started with the summer and spring rolls--both were super fresh, bursting with vibrant herbs and served with a delicious dipping sauce. For the main event, we went with the pho with well‑done beef, and also tried the pho with well‑done beef & tendon. The broth was incredibly rich and comforting, deeply flavorful and so satisfying. The beef was tender even though it was well-done, and the addition of tendon brought a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture that I loved--it made for a memorable introduction to pho! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The dining room is clean, with a cozy, wooden décor and a casual yet polished feel--exactly the kind of welcoming vibe you'd want for a relaxed meal. It's a comfortable spot whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or settling in for a hearty dinner. The service was friendly and knowledgeable--our server helped explain the menu and made us feel right at home. Highlights: Appetizers: Fresh, crisp rolls with balanced flavors Pho: Bold, flavorful broth; tender beef and decadent tendon Ambience: Cozy wooden interiors, clean environment, relaxed vibe Service: Friendly, helpful, and efficient Overall, Saigon Rolls hit it out of the park for my first pho experience. Authentic flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, and great service make it a fantastic pick for Vietnamese cuisine in Old Town Alexandria. Can't wait to go back!

Im a little sad because they are closed. I guess they are rebranding maybe but I didn't see a reopening date anywhere.

Place recently got "rebranded". They updated their menu with newer items and everything is now 20% or more higher. Pho is one size only and the meat is good but the portions are rather small for the hefty updated price. For these prices they need to be large, not all size are the same. Broth is really good though and not too sweet or heavy on star anise/cinnamon. Do ask for the chilli oil as it does not sit in a jar at your table. I will come back again, but for these prices I will only come back when in a pinch.

I'm so happy to have such a wonderful pho place close to where I live! I've ordered takeout from here many times and most recently dined in, about a month ago. Their pho is a generous portion and their broth is so hearty and delicious. They are also generous with their portion of meats in the pho (I usually order the beef pho with several types/cuts of beef, including slices of eye-of-round steak, well-done brisket, well-done flank, soft tendon, and bible tripe. The restaurant is clean, service is always friendly, and they have great non-pho options as well. During my most recent visit (in November), our table ordered the following: -beef pho -summer rolls -beef vermicelli noodle bowl. Everything was delicious! I especially loved those summer rolls and will certainly be back for more!

I LOVE this place! It has original Banh Mi with the pate although, I didn't order it; my friend said it was delicious. I was in the mood for Pho and it didn't disappoint! The broth was rich/deeply flavored, very beefy, cleaned/cleared but packed with flavors. I ordered the combination Pho, which didn't include meatball, a bit dispointing. The ice coffee was thick, rich, creamy, well balanced; it was so thick and creamy I thought they used an egg yolk rather than condensed milk. The summer rolls' beef was a bit old but the dipping sauce was amazing, spring rolls were a bit over fried but delicious no dipping sauce needed; however I will definitely go back!

Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng (Grilled Pork Bánh Mì): Filled with smoky, marinated grilled pork.

Bánh Mì balances sweet, salty, tangy, and spicy flavors, making each bite a delightful explosion of taste. Delicious! Love it! Beef Noodle Soup, widely known as "Phở Bò" combines a savory, slightly sweet, and umami-rich taste, making it a wholesome and satisfying meal. Saigon Rolls offers the best authentic Vietnamese foods in Old Town.

They do get busy at times, but their drinks are always consistent and the service is pretty fast. I also recently noticed that they use organic milk for their drinks, which made me even more impressed. It's great to see a shop that cares about the quality of ingredients they use. Jay, the owner, always stands behind the quality of his drinks and the service. I've been here multiple times, both to grab drinks to go and to sit and work for a while. It's always a pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend!

2.5 STARS Date:…read moreTuesday, October 21st, 2025 Time: around 6:15pm Grade A Matcha Snow ($7.25) *10% sweetness *Whole milk *Honey boba ($0.65) *Coffee jelly ($0.90) *Crystal boba ($0.90) *Slush *0% sweet I wanted a boba matcha. This spot was a few doors down from where we had lunch, so I decided to check them out. I saw they had matcha, but no options without milk. So I asked the cashier if I could get an iced matcha made with water instead of milk. I will pay for a version with milk, but I only wanted matcha, water, and the toppings. No milk, no dairy subs, no sweetness. She said she could do this in slush form. I asked what that meant and she said it's just like a slushie made with ice. That's sounded fine so I said go ahead. I got he receipt above, so I made sure to confirm there is no milk, no sugar. Just the matcha, water, and toppings, right? She said yes, so I went over to the seating area to wait. I figured the 10% sweetness and whole milk was something they had to enter into the system for that drink and they made notes to correct it to what I wanted. When I got the drink, it was a milky green, so I was super confused. I asked again, this has no milk and added sweetness, and they said yes. At that point I felt annoying, so I just left with the drink. Unfortunately it did taste milky / creamy so I didn't finish it. The toppings were good tho. It was unfortunately since I really wanted a matcha. I just don't like milk or cream in my teas or coffees. For the milk teas and drinks like that, I'm sure this spot is probably great. I know my request is rather odd for a boba tea spot, so maybe they misunderstood that I just wanted a matcha tea with toppings. I did tip them a dollar on top since they were really nice. But I just wish I got what I ordered. REVIEW #3885
