I was looking forward to trying Saigon Nights. The inside had nice art work, and the service was fast and friendly. I ordered egg rolls rather then spring rolls. I expected heavier with more filling. They felt and tasted like spring rolls in an egg roll wrapper for over 3.50 each. I ordered the vermicelli with pork and shrimp. It was okay - alot of lettuce, carrots and cucumbers. The pork was good, the shrimp were rubbery tough. I should have stuck to traditional pho, but I wanted something more unique. If I go back, I'd stick with a pho and maybe a bah mi to go. read more

I was honestly really confused by the Yelp ratings at this place. There seems to be inflation by the Yelp algorithms. I was really exited to get my Vietnamese fix. The pictures made everything look good and I saw a lot of pictures that seem to paint an established Vietnamese bodega ambiance... Was I wrong... I came in around 7:30 (party of 1) and the server said to sit anywhere I'd like. There weren't many options with most of the tables still needing to be bussed. I sat around and luckily bought my computer to do some work. I didn't get to place my order until 8:10 when the owner came around and took my order. It seemed like they were short-staffed with only 1 server. It was kind of awkward with many tables trying to grab the server's attention, all the while, the server, also avoiding the customers that needed attending to. It also seemed to be an issue of lack of restaurant experience, multitasking and working efficiently. I've been in the service industry for awhile and I can definitely relate to being a lone server with many tables. The owner came around and tried to address all of the tables, but probably should have probably done so sooner. She also seemed kind of oblivious on how best she could assist, which seemed a little disorganized. My pho bo vien came out within 5 minutes of placing the order with the owner, which I didn't mind. The broth was darker than usual, which was a bit concerning to me since I hadn't even added hoisin. The hoisin/sriracha carousel wasn't even at my table. I'm also assuming they were out of lime because the usual garnish plate had lemon slices instead. To wrap up my review: they were short-staffed, menu seems a bit over-priced. I don't really like the spicy flavor. The place is so fun to walk into and you feel you are right there in their homeland.

I never send food back. I tried a couple of the wings and couldn't proceed. They tasted rubbery and clearly microwaved and the sauce was muddled and not flavorful. The chili oil that came in a small plastic ramekin was straight out of a horror movie. I've never seen chili oil that shade of brown and so chunky. Moving on to my bahn mi, the pork was just terrible. I love Vietnamese food and recently had an incredible pork bahn mi in Pittsburgh. This had little hairs sticking out of it and the shape and texture was weird. I only ate it because I didn't want to send back two items in a row. My wife got fried noodles which were watery and bland. Overall a really disappointing experience that makes me question where all the 5 star reviews on Google are coming from. If you read through the wording on many, they sound unnatural. To add insult to injury they charged us for the wings that we barely touched and sent back. I was really expecting to have food poisoning leaving this place. Oh and it's way too expensive for what it is. We went to another restaurant after to get the taste out of our mouth. read more

Decided to try probably the only Viet restaurant in the area. We noticed that everything was way overpriced... However the food was good overall. I had their vermicelli bowl with eggrolls, pork and shrimp. The lemongrass pork was delicious as well as the eggrolls. The shrimp however had little flavor to it. The fish sauce was sweet and had very little spice to it but it was still good. The veggies, crunchy onions and peanuts paired well with the protein and noodles. My partner had the stir fry beef with pho noodles. The beef had a flavorful sweetness to it and the noodles were nice and soft. It was pretty oily but still tasted amazing. The inside is beautiful and captures the Viet aesthetic. Service was pretty quick and straight forward. The cook was a Viet lady so it is authentic. Highly recommend this place. read more

I came here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately, the food was horrible. I ordered Pho, and it had no flavor--it tasted watered down, and the meat had a sour taste. I also ordered spring rolls, which were just okay, but the peanut sauce was not what I expected; it was more like a scoop of peanut butter. I ended up throwing the entire meal away. I realize I came after a storm when most places were closed, and I was really craving Pho, so I'm not sure if they were short on food supplies or what went wrong. The food is a bit on the pricier side, but to be fair, the portion sizes are pretty large. The chicken tasted amazing! I've never had chicken like this. The side salad came with a little cup of dressing that was pretty unique, I liked it a lot! I don't really like fried rice, but I thought id try it out, and it was actually pretty good! The spring rolls were very good, VERY big! The peanut sauce that comes with the rolls was beautiful. I love peanut sauce and this sauce was definitely in the top 2 that I've ever had! I love, love, love the atmosphere in the restaurant! It's so cozy and inviting! The food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! We couldn't get enough of their eggrolls and even their drinks, I've never had Thai tea as good as theirs before, I could even say it's the best one I've ever had! We stopped by for the first time today and WOW!! First impression: the people are simply wonderful! Even though it was the first visit, it had this atmosphere of family. Not only did they make sure we were seated and comfortable but they made jokes that made us feel like usuals - we were invited right in. 5 people in our party - ranging from Vietnamese food lovers to a super picky first-timer. We all walked away with full bellies and the belief that OUR chosen dish was the best on the table! This is my fourth time to Saigon Nights. First, how lucky we are to have a new exciting ethnic dining option in Erie! All four times I have had excellent food and service. I've tried the Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien, the "Shaky Beef," the Viet Pat Thai Seafood, and the Bun Thit Nuong Tom. While all of the dishes were delicious, the Pho Tai and the Viet Pat Thai Seafood were my two favorites. I'm going to keep exploring the menu, trying new items each time I visit. Food was absolutely delicious!! I'm originally from Baltimore Maryland, and we have pho spots everywhere out there. I also frequently travel to Pittsburgh and Cleveland just to get pho. Now I only have to travel like 5 blocks to get actually delicious pho!! The restaurant is set up very pretty, with lots of seating and light. AMAZING! I'm in town visiting my family and my mom suggested this place for lunch. First off it's very fresh, authentic, delicious food! I got brisket pho and my family all ordered #9 (we can't remember the name). The spring rolls are awesome as well. Our service was excellent and the owner came to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I wish I got photos of our food but we all forgot. Definitely go check them out! It will be my first stop when I come back to visit. They do not sell beer, wine or liquor but you are welcome to bring it with you according to the waitress we had. read more
