This place was everything others said and more! Yes the decor is less than to be desired with some weird color vibes inside and out, but that's because they're focused on the sushi and food! I'll take that any day. My kids LOVE sushi so we ordered a ton and the waitstaff delivered it to us on a beautiful wooden board with a little sushi drawing which made the kids' night. Amazing sushi. Got the erie roll that was recommended and it was some of the best sushi I have ever had. I got my order to-go so I can't comment on the service, but at least the lady on the phone was nice. My one complaint is the sides. I love Samurai! My second favorite place in and around Erie to get sushi (my favorite place being ICHIBAN )! Their dishes are decent portion sizes for the amount of money you spend, which might seem like a lot but is actually on the lower end of Erie's sushi prices from what I've seen. Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation for 5 people and we were promptly seated. They have a decent selection of rolls, but I thought they were a little pricey. I decided to try out their chirashi because that's when you can see how fresh the fish is, since it isn't masked in sauce and the other flavors you'd find in a roll. I was impressed with the presentation and quality of the fish. The salmon was buttery just the way I like it, and that's how a sushi spot wins me over. I asked for their hibachi sauce to dip my fish because I wanted to mix it up from the regular soy sauce. After the 20% discount with check-in, my bill came out to a little over $15 for the chirashi bowl, which I think is pretty good. And it filled me up, which is a plus. Two of my friends had their hibachi and they both really liked it. The other two who tried some of the rolls and liked it as well. Their plating is very nice! So nice I asked to take a picture of my friend's dish haha. We all left full and satisfied. Service was friendly. The establishment is smaller than I thought, but it's cozy and clean. You can expect to find a small parking lot as well. They have a wide variety of options for sushi and non-sushi eaters, which is perfect for a group like ours. Erie is not what one would call a Mecca for food, so I was pretty delighted to know that a decent looking Thai/Japanese place was close by to where I was working and had a Yelp takeout option. I ordered from here last week and ended up going with the Mie Goreng Lunch which is Indonesian stir fried noodles with chicken. The email I received claimed the food would be done in 20-40 mins and luckily they finished it in 15, so kudos for being super fast! The meal itself was good, nothing I would rave about but definitely not something I regret eating. The noodles and vegetables were good and the chicken was pretty decent as well. The rest of the menu was pretty large and featured a bunch of different options I may have to check out in the future since I'm in the area once a week. Overall, Samurai Kitchen + Sushi was a decent spot to grab lunch and had some pretty good food. I'll probably end up returning in the future and look forward to seeing what else they have! read more

Very good meal at Samurai this past Thursday for my birthday. Our server was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. The food was great. We had an excellent potsticker appetizer, two of us had sushi that was very delicious and satisfying, and the third had a scallops hibachi meal that she loved. We each had a Sapporo, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't serve saké. I always love warm saké when I visit sushi restaurants outside of Erie. When our you going to start serving saké?
