    Pho Tai

If you coming out of town, skip this place. Very unflavorful. I had the pho Tai and my husband had the Bun Day Hu Cien. The rest of my friends got pho and also thought it was not great. The food just isn't flavorful but it may be one of the few options in the area so may be still okay for locals to go. I am just use to better pho so a bit picky on flavors.

For Vietnamese food, I think this is the best you'll find in the area. I've been eating here for at least 10 years, specifically because of the vegetarian/vegan options and the boba tea! I absolutely love the way that they fry their tofu. It is DELICIOUS! The spring rolls, vegan or not, are definitely worth the price and the very first thing I would suggest any new customer try! Their bubble tea is frozen, more like a smoothie, but the taro is amazing! The waiters are so prompt, patient and friendly. The atmosphere is casual, and the pricing is very good even in today's economy. Plus, they have take out and a drive thru! Closed on Tuesdays! Vietnamese cuisine is not for everyone, as it has a very unique flavor, but if you're a fan of Pho or anything else- you must try Saigon Garden! Ps. You can substitute the broth in the soups for veggie broth if you're vegan, and the milk in the bubble tea for almond milk!

Super easy to locate with a drive up window for takeout which is a plus! They have a big variety of dishes. I wasn't super impressed with the dish I got today but plan on returning to try new items. The cut up eggrolls were definitely my fav! The service I received was also good!

It's been so long since I've been to Saigon, it must've been at least 4-5 years now. My parents and I stopped in for a late dinner on Sunday night. It was about 8:00 p.m. by the time we stopped by Saigon. We were seated immediately. We ordered a side of spring rolls and each a bowl of pho. The springs rolls were freshly made and came with a side of delicious peanut sauce. The pho was refreshing, especially after a long day. The medium was the a perfect for my appetite, not too much or too little -- just right! I went with the special which consisted of all types of meat. Again, just enough meat! The customer service was excellent! The best I've received in a very long time. I can't recall the last time that I experienced A+ service, especially for they particular time of dinner hour. Times are tough right now for small restaurants, please support Saigon! I can't wait to stop by again to try other items on the menu.

The bubble tea with tapioca pearls are phenomenal. Tried one yesterday and went back today with my husband for more. The food is delicious. If you like Vietnamese food and bubble tea with tapioca pearls this is the best place for you. The staff is awesome. Great service! Highly recommended!

#42 rice noodle with beef and seafood

I was craving some pho while in Hickory, and the family suggested this was one of their go to spots! Started with the goi cuon, or spring rolls. These were so crisp and so fresh! The peanut sauce was delicious to dip them in!!! I then ordered a #42: Pho with beef and seafood. It was very interesting. Some of the cuts of beef I'm not sure what cut it was lol ate them anyway. I've never had squid given to me in the manner the squid in here was...I was at the beginning afraid to eat it! But that would take away the adventure. My only complaint was it contained 1 shrimp only, not even a second one. Also ordered the #41: Pho with chicken and shrimp. Very delicious. The soups were all served hot. And the add-ins placed on a separate dish as they should. Don't be confused when paying, take your check to the front counter for payment.

Fresh. Served hot. Excellent blend of spices. Staff was great. This place is frequently busy - which tells you it's good! Plenty of seating though, and very well lit.

Thousands of miles and decades of time separate Pleiku, Vietnam and Conover, North Carolina, but the aromas and flavors of aromatic herbs mingled with savory meat and tender noodles melded the two in my mind and in my body at dinner tonight. The dishes served at Saigon Garden in Conover, NC took me back to a time long ago and far away in a war-torn country....and while times have changed significantly the marvelous flavors of Vietnamese cuisine have not. We began our dinner with Hu Tieu Ga (Pho) a steaming bowl of (Rice Noodle) Soup and sliced Chicken topped with the traditional add-to-your-own-liking aromatic herbs and sprouts. The portion was very, very generous (and we had only the "medium" size). Saigon Garden offers large and family-size bowls as well. Next, we shared Bun Thit Heo/Bo Nuong - Cha Gio, a (generous) bowl of vermicelli noodles ladled over a bed of sliced, crisp cucumber and crunchy lettuce, then topped with beautifully caramelized chunks of grilled pork. This particular menu item was also garnished with a fried pork Egg Roll sliced into quarter-size medallions and scattered on top. Drizzle this delectable concoction with some or all of the accompanying dish of Nc mm pha--a traditional dipping or drizzling sauce made with fish sauce, water (or lime juice) a little garlic, sugar and some minced carrots and you have a delightful, delectable entree. Saigon Garden has an extensive menu with over 50 offerings (plus desserts and drinks). The main dishes range from simple, fresh Spring Rolls or Fried Egg Rolls to a whole Roasted Duck served with rice or vermicelli rice noodles. The prolific menu covers the whims and wishes of both meat eater and vegetarian alike with dishes cooked in the Southern Vietnamese style.

#34 pho w/ rare beef and meat balls

I gave Saigon Garden 4 stars because in my opinion, they are not authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I grew up eating here and I've discovered other restaurants that I like better and are more authentic, but I still like to eat here from time to time. They also have plenty of other options to eat if you're not craving pho! If you live in the hickory/Conover area, you should definitely check this place out, they have great service and awesome lunch specials! I got the #34 pho, which is rare beef and meatballs and also spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce. Also, don't be alarmed by the rare beef, the broth is so hot that it actually cooks the beef before you even eat it! The spring rolls are a MUST as an appetizer, my boyfriend and I always get them! You will not be disappointed! :)

#1 rice plate with pork, chicken, and shrimp. It comes with an eggroll, rice, broccoli, and sweet carrots.

I came here with some of my team members for lunch on a cold Monday, and it did not disappoint. We…read morewere a party of four, but promptly seated upon arrival, even though they were pretty busy. The ambience is clean, cozy and dimly lit. We were one of about 7 to 8 tables present in a restaurant, with only one server working. Even then, we were promptly serviced, and didn't have to wait a long time at all for our food Altogether, we ended up ordering one order of shrimp egg rolls, one order of veggie egg rolls, one order of shrimp summer rolls, two beef and meatball pho, one combination pho, and one chicken pho. Everything was brought out piping hot, and of course, the pho herbs, condiments, and veggies were super fresh and served in abundance The eggrolls all came out hot and fresh. The wrappers were perfectly crispy on the outside, and the filling was fresh on the inside. I did not taste the summer rolls, but everyone said they were excellent. I personally had the combination pho and wish it had a little bit more meat. I would say the amount was less than at other Vietnamese restaurants, but overall it was still really delicious and filling. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the broth was perfectly seasoned. The total for the table was only $75, which I felt was reasonable for four people and the amount of food we received. Overall, a solid Vietnamese restaurant in Winston. I look forward to returning in the future.

I really wish Winston Salem had a great Banh Mi available. There are some good Pho restaurants but…read morethey don't serve Banh Mi usually and when they do it's not quite the authentic version I'm looking for. I had the Banh Mi at What Da Pho in the past and remember it was good so that's what I ordered this time. Additionally we ordered crab wontons and summer rolls. The restaurant is a little hidden but if you park in the parking structure adjacent to the restaurant it's super easy to get inside. First impressions are it's quiet- no music in the dining room, and the decor is sort of an afterthought with scotch tape holding LED lights to the walls and some Asian inspired pictures but not very well thought out. It's Ok, I'm not coming for the decor. The service is a little lacking. They are giving the bare minimum here so don't expect your server to be too friendly. The crab wontons and summer rolls arrived quickly. The crab wontons were super hot and crispy right from the deep fryer. They were filled with a delicious imitation crab and cream cheese mixture and when dipped in the sweet chili sauce they were exactly the thing I was craving. The summer rolls were equally as fresh and delicious. The filling of cold rice noodles, crisp lettuce and shrimp then dipped in the accompanying peanut sauce was just as delicious. We ordered one pork and one beef Banh Mi. The first thing I noticed was how plentiful the meat was in each one. Usually it's a light sandwich but these were very hefty in comparison to others I've had. My meat was very savory and had a very tender texture, almost like pot roast. It was also the juiciest pork I've ever had in a Banh mi. The picked vegetables were also really good but both our sandwiches were missing the jalapeno I've come to expect. My husband really enjoyed his beef one as well but we both noticed how the bread lacked that crusty flaky quality that Vietnamese baguettes normally have. This was more of a sub roll with a chewy texture and softer crust. The flavors were great, I just missed the textures I have come to expect in an authentic Banh mi. Our spot in Greensboro will still be my favorite but when I don't want to trek out that far, I can get my fix at What Da Pho.
