This is my go to falafel place! Since I don't eat meat anymore my usual go to meal is either a falafel wrap or the platter. I usually share the platter with my partner with an extra side of rice unless we are very hungry because the falafel is so filling. The staff here are super nice and they are always working so hard. To try some of their delicious food you might have to wait in a bit of a lineup as things can get busy around lunch/dinner. But you know a place is really good when people are lining up in the rain for it, which I have seen several times driving past! The falafel is perfectly done, always made fresh and very filling. Stop by here for a quick Chicken wrap for $6.50. The pita bread that they used was very small and they put a lot of toppings and chicken. They should find a better place to get bigger pita wraps to handle their wraps better. The food was okay but the wrap was too small to handle the food and the pita started cracking and sauce and toppings falling on my lap. Which got me thinking they should really get a bigger size pita wrap. 4 reals 4 reals!!!!!!! They only toast one side of the wrap as well. These kind of wraps should honestly be priced at $5.50 like if you were to buy these at an Adonis/Nations grocery store place. I've ate at better places and that are cleaner too. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Please there are slow to and putting a wrap together. If you're in the hood definitely check it out. As well they don't do Chicken/beef on the rocks. They looked at me weird when I asked if they do that. They are way behind their food offers. Had a craving for shawarma and read about another place that had good ratings and when I got there, well..there was no meat on a spit to be seen?! So, I jumped back in my car and looked on my trusty yelp app and found ths place. O.M.G. am I glad I did. Walked in and hey, chicken on a spit! The prices could not be beat! I had the chicken plate with all the fixings for 10$ And the hubby had chicken over fries with all the sauces..10$ as well. The chicken plate was packed with chicken, white basmati rice, ultra fresh hummas, salad, and a pita on the side. 2 people could easily have this meal and be satisfied. I of course ate it all myself cause I am all woman! The makeshift poutine was just as delicious, fries were crispy and tons of meat topped with all the amazing sauces. I'm shocked with the enormously positive reviews for Sahara. These reviews led me to dine in for lunch, however unfortunately won't be returning at all. I've had a ton of shawarma from sandwiches to plates and this place has to be one of the worst I've ever been to. To start off, we walk in starving to find out that chicken would not be ready for another 45 minutes. No problem, we elected to go with beef shawarma plate. Here are the gripes: What's a salad without lettuce? This is the first place I've seen that doesn't serve lettuce with their shawarma meals. Chick peas, slices of tomatoes, but no lettuce? Pickles and pickled turnips swimming in hummus? Check! Not very appetizing and didn't taste well, but that was provided. Beef was dry, bland and just didn't taste well to me. We were looking for Scotiabank and stumbled upon this place. My friends had never had shawarma before and I wanted to introduce them. They were out of chicken because of the rush that apparently had just ended, so we all had to get beef. They had a special running with 2 plates and 2 wraps plus 4 drinks for @$22.99. That was the most logical choice for us, plus I added 2 more wraps. All of the items for the shawarma were fresh. You build it like you want it, so if you build it wrong, it's your fault if you don't like it. By "build it", I mean that you tell them what you want on your wraps. There samosas weren't good at all; partially because they weren't fresh. He brought them from the back as if he had just made them, but he had only reheated them back there. Shawarma = 4 out of 6. Samosas=2 out of 5. The guy running the place was relatively nice, but there was a communication barrier. His helper didn't speak much at all. He just smiled and nodded. I would go back for the shawarma. I haven't found good shawarma in Buffalo and Toronto is sometimes too far. I wouldn't have the samosas again unless I saw them come out of the grease. read more

Me and my friends used to hit up this place at least once a week for mediterranean/middle eastern cuisin. The owner is always polite and cook to order. This place is also fairly small for sit and dine but the food is absolutly delish here. These types of Mom and Pop establishments are the gold mine of food rather than big chain restaurants. read more

Visiting from Chicago. Small relatively inexpensive restaurant more suited for carryout. Found out they deliver as well. Pretty good beef and chicken shawerma. The fixings were plentiful and tasty. Choices included tabbouleh, mushroom salad, hummus & lentil rice. Make sure you get some of the sauce for the meats (tahini and some white garlic sauce...which you might want to heat up). Overall, would recommend this place over the other touristy area restaurant (Casablanca) where I could not find parking and heard they are overpriced because of their location. read more

Do NOT eat here! Not only was the food not the best (I've had much better shawarmas and service), the owner is a SCAMMER! I was charged $15 for a single shawarma (no drink, nothing, just the sandwich). I thought that the place was just incredibly expensive, then days later, when I reach home, I checked the website. I found out that the regular price of a shawarma is around $5. The owner is very dishonest and will NEVER get a single penny from me again. I only had the Chicken Plate, but I would call it the perfect plate of food. I stuffed some of it into a pita to get started and it was delicious, and then I just ate the rest of it like a full entree. They cook it right there and add the fresh ingredients. I visited this shawarma restaurant based on the strong recommendations of two of my former co-workers. I was told by them & by a couple of online reviews that this was "the best shawarma joint in town!" So I went. The atmosphere was OK. It's a small shop, nice & clean. They offer dine-in & take-out. Not sure if they deliver though. They accept debit cards & cash...possibly credit cards to, but I'm not sure. The first thing I noticed when walking into this restaurant was a Bollywood movie playing on their TV, affixed to the upper corner of a wall. It's rather nice that they offer their viewers some desi programming. Makes it feel as if you're eating a home cooked meal. I ordered the beef shawarma plate & a bottle of pop. The pricing was competitive, so no complaints there. The portion size was fair; not too little but not too much either. They also throw in some (cold) pita bread, humus, and a small salad. The cold pita bread was a real turn off for me. Pita bread (desi style) is meant to be eaten hot or at least very warm. The beef shawarma plate consists of rice on the bottom layer of the plate, topped with sparing shards of beef and then they add some sauces based on your liking (hot sauce, chipotle, that kinda thing). It tasted OK (I found the spicy sauce not-so spicy) but nowhere near as good as my former co-workers told me it would be. Overall I would eat there again but only if I'm in the immediate area and feeling very hungry. I definitely would not go out of my way, nor would I recommend it to anybody. I'm not saying it's no good. I'm saying it's just another shawarma joint, and if you consider it "the best shawarma joint in town", that's gotta be one heck of a small crappy town! read more

Went to Sahara for the first time today. Ordered a chicken plate and a beef plate. The portions were quite large and it was reasonably priced. The chicken was a little dry but overall I enjoyed it and will be returning in the future. The people helping were really nice too.
