My friend and I ate here, and it was so good!!! I wish I had known about this place the last time I was here! So yummy, and really affordable! Found in the Fallsview Casino food court, if you're looking for different variety in food, check out Paramount. This is a chain restaurant, however, this was my first time visiting the chain. This location specifically did not have washrooms as you'd have to go into the food court washrooms and come back. It got pretty busy towards the evening. The servers were very attentive and courteous. I enjoyed the food and thought they tasted pretty standard in comparison to other Middle Eastern food spots. The prices were not too bad for being in a big touristy area, and they have platters for sharing so it may just be more affordable for a bigger group. read more

The service at this Paramount was good this year. Last year when we went there were far too many servers & everyone seemed confused. Now there's just enough servers & everyone seems to know what they are doing. Hubby & I came here for a late lunch. He ordered the kafta with spicy tomatoes & I ordered the beef shawarma with tabbouleh salad. For dessert we had baklava (not pictured). The food was freshly cooked & delicious. Quality is about standard for a Paramount. It's better than eating fast food like Burger King in my opinion. It didn't take too long to get our food either. We had a young lady serving us & she was nice & had a friendly smile. We decided to order some dinner to take back to our bed & breakfast as it was so hot & humid we didn't want to go out again until the evening show we had tickets to. There's a small play area for kids at the back of the restaurant which I think is nice. To pay your bill you go to the cash register. Also washrooms are located outside of the Paramount in the food court. I would come here again when I'm in the area. I know I can get a decent meal here without paying ridiculous prices. We ordered the mixed grill platter, grape leaves and a beet salad to share. The grape leave were really good and had the perfect combination of tangy and delicious. Next, our beet salad arrived and it was fantastic. It came with lots of beets (thank goodness. Too many restaurants don't give you enough beets on a beet salad) and crunchy spiced nuts that created the perfect flavour pallet. It had the right level of greens, crunch and juiciness. The mixed grill platter was great as well. It arrived with three types of meat (we both liked the steak the most) and some vegetables. When we stayed in the Niagara falls area we were summoned to the cold so there were only a few places that we could eat at. We were lucky because we were a short walk to the casino that had a bunch of great food options. We found ourselves at Paramount fine foods due to the great décor. When we walked in we were immediately greeted with smiling faces and helpful staff, they offered their recommendations and let us know what their poplar dishes were. I wasn't too hungry so I asked for a smaller portioned item, I was recommended the Manakeesh. It is a flat bread on various toppings. I landed on the cheese one. Once we ordered the manager asked where we were from and we told him sunny California, he was so nice and offered us a plate of various baklava. We snacked on the baklava while waiting on the Manakeesh and it was so good, it was served warm and it was a perfect amount of sweetness and crisp. About 10 minutes later the Manakeesh was dropped off to us, to my surprise this was not a small snack at all. The manakeesh was legit a size of a small pizza. The server showed us to a booth table and provided us with menus. I had recently went to another location in Edmonton so we got up to place our orders but the server came and said it's ok, she would take our order at the table and we didn't have to go up and pay in advance. We both ordered the chicken and beef platters. The bread came out first and so cute, there was a little heart one. Because it was not busy, it didn't take long for the food to arrive at our table. The plate was filled with chicken, beef, rice, and salad. With the sauce, it was flavourful. It was a lot of food and I would have taken half to go if I was at home and not on vacation. I consumed most of the meat but couldn't finish the rest. Our server wasn't as attentive as she could have been for an empty restaurant but it was ok. Service wasn't the best and I think they'd do well to switch to a Panera order at the counter and pick a table model. Open fairly late on weekends from what I remember. The Tabliyeh Saj Chicken Shawarma was served on a wooden board with fries, pickles, turnips, and sauce. The dish actually looked exactly like it was shown on the menu (which was rare). It had shredded pieces of chicken (that were grilled on a rotating spit) wrapped with their freshly baked thin Saj bread with garlic sauce. (Saj bread is an authentic Lebanese thin crust bread common in the countries of the Levant. The dough is flattened by hand and then placed on a domed hot clay oven called the Saj.) The first time I had the Tabliyeh Saj Chicken Shawarma was at the Paramount Fine Foods Grand Opening at the Don Mills location. I remember enjoying it then and I was again satisfied this time when we had it here. The chicken inside the wrap was such a delicious fit with the thin Saj bread and the garlic sauce too. I really liked the garlic sauce that came on the table too; it was great for dipping the fries into. I do have to say that there were only five pieces which wasn't too much for its price of $11.99. However, it was still delicious. The Manakeesh is like a pizza with toppings on it. On the Za'atar, it had thyme and sesame seeds mixed with virgin olive oil. It was a very simple manakeesh. I started appreciating and enjoying manakeeshs when I tried the cheese and spinach one most recently at the Eglinton and Yonge location of Paramount Fine Foods. We also ordered a few fattoush salads for the table. Although it's not the season for the green leaf in fattoush, they had made it with regular lettuce and it was still so flavorful. I just felt that it was a strange place the first time I went to Paramount but I guess ever since I started going, I still thought the place was slightly strange, but would only go certain sometimes to please my family on our trip to Niagara Falls. The second time, great service and everything. Bill ended up being $70 unfortunately. The food was good. My fries were soggy but I was okay with dealing with it. Unfortunate for the staff, there were only 3 employees working. A man and two women. They were all working that night, and they were struggling. One of the women was working as a cashier/waitress, the other woman was working as a cashier/waitress/the one giving people their bill or checking them out of the restaurant, and then the man was working as a chef. My family felt sorry for them and so we gave them all a tip for their hard work and dedication to their job. Even now, my family and I actually hope that they have been paid more money then they usually would since they worked so much time, working together and showing really hard work and dedication to their job.
