I've been following Shelby's on social media for a while because of their hilarious 'Shawarma man' commercials and sketches and quickly added this resturant on our 'must visit' places while we were in Canada. I was so excited that there was a location so close to where we were staying and when we visited, we ordered several things to share so we could try out the menu. We tried their wraps, poutine bowl, sharwma bowl, and their mac and cheese bowl with various proteins and everything was fresh, tasty, and delicious. I even bought a souviner t shirt to take home with me. Great food, reasonable prices, and good vibes - what more could you ask for?

Living in Ottawa I have access to a few shawarma spots. I heard great things from Shelby so one day was lucky enough that we had some time on hand and were a little hungry to come try it out. Shelby's has taken over the old Perry's location which used to be a pretty cheap spot for breakfast. They have totally renovated the inside and outside of this place and it looks pretty cool. Cashier is by the door and you can order there. The menu is up o the boards but delivery services was constantly coming in to grab an order. Prices seem OK. My bowl was under $15. I got it loaded with everything it normally comes with. The staff are pretty friendly. There are a few options but I grabbed a chicken salad bowl to try out. In no time, the staff got our order and called me up to grab it. I popped it open. The portion size seems pretty standard. First couple of bites seemed OK. The chicken pieces seemed really small. I'm used to larger chunks of chicken with some nice browned edges and a bit more meat on it with every bite. These seemed like a little bit of the edges and some chicken. Portions felt skimped there. Flavours were OK. Nice to see shawarma make it to Niagara.

Now don't be fooled by my un-aesthetic photo - this place is DELICIOUS. I was craving shawarma for a while and finally decided to give Shelby's a try. I was not disappointed. This place is so much food at such a good price. There is a separate tablet to order from so you don't have to be overwhelmed by options in front of a cashier. I got the bowl, but also tried my partner's wrap and both are delicious. I love that there are pickle options and other additional add ons. If you're a saucy person, this place will be perfect for you because of how loaded it is. I will say that it's a bit of a smaller space so you may have trouble finding seating during busy hours and during the summer, it can feel a bit warm because of the open kitchen.

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING !! We got the legendary Shelby's Shawarma Wraps, the bowl, the Abbas mix smoothie, butterscotch kunnafa. All the food was amazing. And the Staff, specifically Arsh was very kind, supporting, and helped us with everything perfectlly. Also most importantly, he enforced the no ketchup rule perfectly. Ps we came all the way to Ontario from Fremont CA for this place !!!

Nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario in Vineland, this storied establishment, housed in a structure dating to 1867, has become one of those places that quietly lodges itself in the memory and refuses to leave. We made the drive -- well over an hour -- for a Sunday brunch, and not for the first time. It is the kind of restaurant one finds oneself recommending without hesitation, not as a curiosity or a seasonal indulgence, but as a benchmark. The setting alone would justify the journey: a sweeping, unobstructed view of the lake from the sunroom and patio that shifts in character with the light, the season, and the mood of the sky above. On a clear day, the Toronto skyline is visible on the horizon -- an almost implausible grace note. But Lake House does not rest on its scenery. The kitchen demonstrates genuine culinary ambition with a menu that draws from Mediterranean traditions while remaining grounded in local and seasonal sensibility. The salmon crab cakes -- a pairing that sounds indulgent and delivers accordingly -- arrive with a pineapple and mango chutney and sriracha aioli that balance richness with levity. The Great Canadian Burger is a study in considered indulgence: brioche, peameal bacon, sweet bacon jam, and spiced maple aioli achieving a harmony of sweetness, heat, and savoriness that lingers well past the last bite. The service matched the occasion throughout. From the welcome at the door to our server Rhonda -- attentive, warm, and precisely calibrated in her pacing -- to the supervisor who moved quietly through the room ensuring that every table was well attended, the floor operates with the kind of seamless, unhurried care that is too often mistaken for effortlessness. It is not effortless. It is practiced and deliberate, and all the more impressive for it. Lake House Restaurant is a destination that justifies the drive, rewards the return, and -- in a dining landscape where so few establishments manage all three -- that is no small thing.

Absolutely terrible experience - never going back…read more I visited Palmsview Shawarma for the first time, and it was easily one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. This happened today. I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap, and from the first bite, it was obvious the whole thing was a disaster. The bread was dry and stiff, the wrap itself was flavorless, and the chicken tasted undercooked. It genuinely felt like I was swallowing rocks - completely unappetizing and hard to eat. I politely asked the staff for more sauce, since the wrap was bone-dry, and was told it would be an extra charge--even though I could barely taste or see any sauce at all. When I pointed this out, the man (about 6ft tall) behind the counter became defensive and borderline aggressive, saying, "I'm not going to argue with you," even though I was calm and just trying to get what I paid for. What happened next was shocking. In front of other customers, he angrily grabbed the wrap from my hands and aggressively drenched it in sauce before tossing it back to me. It was clear he was trying to save face because people were watching & at risk losing his customers in line, but his behavior was completely unprofessional and intimidating. The decor might look nice, but the customer service and food quality were absolutely horrible. I left feeling sick and deeply uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money somewhere that actually values its customers and serves edible food.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures
