This is a really good spot to get a prime rib dinner special at Barona casino. The service is prompt and even when you do have to wait they text you when your table is ready. The cafe ambiance is casual and average noise level lots of celebrations too

To begin with, Sage Cafe is located in the Barona Ranch and Casino, which is the cleanest and most beautiful casinos around! The restaurant is a cafe but the interior is more like an upscale restaurant with an amazing view of the golf course. Wes, our server was so warm and friendly, and that always makes dining a treat. Sage began by offering fry bread with honey, powdered and cinnamon sugar, yummy! My wife and I both ordered the everyday Prime Rib dinner which comes with either soup or salad, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes and ice cream for dessert. All was well seasoned and fresh but the star of the meal was the prime rib. It was prepared a perfect medium rare and was so perfectly cooked you could almost cut it with a fork! This delicious meal was fantastic for the price, we practically paid nothing! Great food, amazing service and a wonderful view make Sage Cafe a special place to visit!

Fry bread - - sooo perfect topped with a honey drizzle

Food here today was bountiful and top notch for Barona. I usually start with the waffle but was stoked to receive a bread basket featuring fry bread (!!!), which I'd never seen here before. I added a drizzle of honey and took an immediate trip to carb heaven. The calamari app was a huge portion, heavy on the breading but still scrumptious when doused with fresh lemon and tartar sauce. Bf's ribeye was juicy, and I still had room to enjoy half of his baked potato side and more fry bread before slipping into a food coma.

FRIED RIIIIIIIICE!!!! Ok this review is going to be short and sweet! Barona casino has interesting food.. but his little cafe in the corner as you heading to the Hotel side, is GEM! We stopped here two days in a row and each time took Togo boxes for mischiefs later.... The first thing is the Native bread that comes out as a starter.... You guys I have never had this , it's so perfect and simple it's so hard to explain why it's so good besides less is more! It's a fluffy fried hollow piece of bread, that you put butter and honey on! And oh my God it's life changing! And second but not last!! I ordered something you would me ever think to get at a cafe but, I was in a church and everyone had already ordered and was staring waiting for me... so on a whim I said " can I have the Cantonese fried rice with BBQ Pork" after I said it I could believe I ordered that.... But to my surprise this was the greatest fried rice I have ever ever ever had in my life.... And anyone who know me knows.... I've had a lot of fried rice I mean I'm part Asian! But even my mother couldn't pull this off... Fluffy and airy... never have I had rice this fluffy soft and airy... especially if it's fried I mean, how do you even pull that off... frying it but keep it soft... my mind was blown..... Yes this tiny cafe all the way in the mountains of Barona has the best fried rice in all of San Diego!! Your welcome! We Love Sage Cafe!!!

Our first time here on Monday, We had a table of 6 of us. It's was slow here..and not very friendly here I try the Fresh fried chicken I wasn't impressed by all means! Soup was albondigas that was okay needs more spices, and I asked for salsa no salsa here at the Sage Cafe. The prime rib was the best plate here, Southwest chicken salad 3 Salmon plate 3 2 fried chicken 3 Soup. Pork Filipino soup 4 Prime rib 5 and dessert was ice creams big scoop I will try a another Resturant next time there's 6 more to try. Oh we like the fried bread, and dinner roll too they gave us 2 baskets for the table to start

It's been a while since the last time I dined in at Sage cafe. Took my girlfriend to Barona for a little weekend gateway. We woke up early and craved for a traditional American breakfast. She ordered waffle with strawberries and added an extra crispy harsh brown, and I ordered steak and egg with toast. It took a bit long to get our order after we sat down, but within acceptable waiting time. The server was friendly. Pretty cozy to eat here with the country side decor. Will come back to try out other breakfast items when we come back next time.

Sage cafe is an inexpensive place to eat, a dining option in the Barona Casino Resort. We especially like the breakfast options served 24 hours. Coffee is great, we enjoyed a 3-egg omelette with choice of ingredients, 2-egg meal with ham steak, toast, hash browns, and complimentary bread basket. Regular entrees served too including prime rib, steak, meatloaf, etc. Also extensive variety of desserts. Prices are very reasonable. Courteous staff.

Complete Prime Rib Dinner - 14 oz Prime Rib with Au Jus, Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans

Sage Café at Barona Casino is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in San Diego County -- and the fact that it's open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year makes it even better! It doesn't matter if you come in at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., the menu stays the same, and you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime. The consistency in both food quality and service is honestly impressive. I've been here several times, and one thing that really stands out is the amount of food you get for the price. One of my all-time favorites is the 14 oz Complete Prime Rib Dinner for just $23.95. You get a perfectly cooked, tender prime rib served with au jus, grilled mashed potatoes, and green beans. It also includes your choice of soup or a crisp iceberg wedge salad, plus an ice cream dessert. I chose the wedge salad to start, which came out quickly and was incredibly fresh with a huge portion. When the prime rib arrived, it was cooked to perfection -- juicy, flavorful, and honestly massive. I almost couldn't finish it! For dessert, I went with strawberry ice cream -- just a scoop, but the perfect sweet touch to end a great meal. And before I forget -- they start you off with Indian fry bread and butter, which is absolutely delicious and feels like getting half a loaf of warm, fluffy bread. On another occasion, I came in for breakfast, and once again, the experience was fantastic. I ordered the Barona Deuces Wild for $12.95, which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and 2 pancakes, plus hash browns and toast. When it arrived, the entire table was full -- I couldn't believe how much food came with it. Everything was cooked just the way I asked: eggs scrambled perfectly, sausage well done, and pancakes fluffy and golden. The ambience at Sage Café is a wonderful mix between casual and formal, giving off more of a hotel-style dining vibe. Sitting by the windows in the dining room offers lovely views, but personally, I prefer a cozy booth. The restaurant features beautiful hand-painted scenery, which I believe depicts the Barona Reservation, adding a special touch that connects to the local area. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal any time of day. The service here is top-notch, easily on par with -- if not better than -- some high-end restaurants. The staff is friendly, attentive, and constantly checking in to make sure everything's perfect. If you're in Ramona or near Barona Casino, and you want great food at a great price any time of day or night, Sage Café is the place to go. I'll definitely be coming back again and again -- and the 24-hour service just makes it even better!

    Indian Butter Bread. Yum!

Located inside Barona casino, Sage Cafe is open 24 hours and serves a variety of items: breakfast, sandwiches, comfort food, steak, Asian offerings, and more. The ambiance is cozy and relaxing. The window seats have awesome views of the valley. Their Indian fry bread is always a must before our meal. It is addicting and so good hot and fresh, with some added butter, cinnamon, and powder sugar. Albondigas soup is decent. I enjoy their buffalo wings appetizer, I get it with the sauce on the side (I'm not a fan of buffalo sauce). The Prime Rib is great. The Indian Butter Chicken is pretty good. I love French toast, however, their Barona's World Famous French Toast is NOT to my liking... and oh yea, their cheesecake is the best cheesecake in town!

Tuna Salad Sandwich with Onion Rings - $13.95.
    Harold S.

This is the restaurant inside the Barona Hotel and Casino. It's nice and spacious inside, the food was good and I thought the prices were reasonable. I had lunch there on a weekday, and my only negative concern is that the service was friendly, but seemed pretty slow. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich for $13.95 which came with a side of onion rings, which I thought was quite good. This is a good place to enjoy a meal if you are staying at the hotel or spending some time there. However, it's probably not the best place if you are in a hurry and don't have plenty of time.

...casino buffets are giving way to food halls. barona used to have one of the best in san diego but folded a few years ago. sage cafe has a pretty good steak and eggs breakfast, but it's just not the same without a cluster of all-you-can-eat snow crab legs hanging off the edge of the plate. before & after. @tabasco sauce makes everything sexier

Convenient! Inside Barona casino. Quick and well coordinated service. Fresh and tasty food. Bomb super crispy seasoned fries with most entrees. Unique complementary bread service. Fry bread with softened butter and honey on the side. Plentiful seating for groups of all sizes.

The salmon was on top of couscous with baby grilled zucchini. The salmon had crispy skin and was fork tender just flaked right off and was very flavorful. The rib eye was grilled medium and covered in a peppercorn demi gravy that was so luxurious. I was half tempted to lick the plate. The pesto baby golden potatoes were like individual servings of mashed potatoes which paired nicely with the rib eye and charred asparagus. It's a beautiful restaurant, very light and bright, looked elegant but casual. We had a reservation for a party of 13. From the moment we sat down to the end of our meal, Nico our server was awesome! He was so friendly and efficient throughout. And there were other employees that would come to our table periodically to ask how we were doing. We ordered various menu items, I had the steak frites with chimichurri on side and truffle fries. Absolutely delicious! My 12 ounce ribeye steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare and the fries were nice and crisp. I literally could bathe in the chimichurri sauce it was so good, the best I've ever had. All the food was so visually appealing I wasn't able to take a lot of photos of the food-we were hypnotized lol. For dessert we shared banana splits, sorbets and parfaits and we left all satisfied. Also the Wilson Creek Almond Sparkling Wine (or champagne) they use for the mimosas is wonderful! I didn't even add any juice to it, great by itself. Overall, it was a great experience and I strongly recommend it for just casual enjoyment or for celebrations. You won't be disappointed.

The Mexican scramble came with chopped serrano peppers, onions, and tomatoes, not to mention a side of beans and rice for $13.49 plus tax. The scramble also comes topped with a couple of slices of Mexican Panels Cheese. I did like that! The eggs were well scrambled with all the ingredients and well seasoned. They definitely did not hold back on any of the ingredients, especially the fresh hot peppers. As a results, the scrambled a good heat, just the way my father would of liked it. I liked it, too. Both the rice and beans were very good. The beans were fantastic and the rice was well prepared and cooked to the right texture, but they could of used a little more seasoning. I used the locally made corn tortillas to make breakfast tacos with the scramble and the tasty hot sauce they offered. Every body was super friendly at this hybrid meat market and eatery. Did I mention they have a meat counter here, too? It's a cool little hidden gem in El Cajon.
