Great service, great food, great wine pairing, and a great view!!! Loved my experience at Saga and could clearly see why it gets all the praise it does. It's well deserved and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience here. Definitely top notch from start to finish.

The service was great and most of the food was very good. I was disappointed in the premium wine pairing but the cocktails and mocktails were absolutely delicious! Some of our favorites were the Hokkaido scallop with Hokkaido uni add-on, the small bites that started the meal, the venison, the A5 wagyu add-on, and the fish with the spicy mango hot sauce. Unfortunately, we left a little hungry plus some of the courses toward the end weren't as good. I was also a little disappointed that we opted for the premium wine pairing but didn't really think any of the wines paired that well with the food (except one - the Chablis) and also wasn't in love with any of the wines. The pours also were not very generous - much tinier than I am used to compared to other places (though that's probably because it was one glass per course rather than multiple courses like most places). Overall, it was still a very dry special experience. They did a great job with helping us to celebrate our anniversary.

Saga is one of the most beautiful dining rooms I've been in. The space is stunning, the views are incredible, and the service is as polished as it gets. The staff walked us through every dish clearly and confidently, which I appreciated because fine dining can sometimes feel like guessing games. The food itself didn't live up to the rest of the experience. We did the tasting menu, and most of the courses were variations of fish. After a few dishes it all started to feel repetitive and surprisingly underwhelming for a Michelin-starred spot. The venison was the one non-fish course, but it was so tough it ended up being the weakest plate of the night. Dessert, ironically, was the highlight. Everything around the food was excellent, but the food just wasn't at that level. Still, the service, setting, and overall experience make it worth trying at least once.

The experience begins as soon as the elevator opens on the 63rd floor. Relinquish the outside world at the bar with a complimentary cocktail or mocktail as a small welcome. After being seated decided on the wine pairing or if you're talking a bottle or cocktail. We chose the Discovery pairing because we like to true new grapes from small regions and farms. I always love a good pairing. However, my favorite drink was the Moroccan tea; the presentation was fun but the flavor was next level. My one regret was not asking for a second tea. As you would expect the food was amazing. One thing I will say is this is a 3 star Michelin, in my opinion (meaning you would go out of your way just for this restaurant). My favorite dish was the scallop which is the second best scallop I've ever had. The venison was tender with a good flavor. The Potato salad with kristal caviar and cornbread with oscietra gold caviar were each dishes I knew I would like but the flavor profiles exceeded my expectations. And the customer service of Saga didn't end after our evening's dinner. My husband received a follow-up message after we had returned home from NY. It's all in the details.

Highly recommend this spot if you're looking to impress, celebrate something special, or just have a very memorable dining experience. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I felt the pricing was just a tad high given the portions / courses. But overall highly recommend dining here! Ambiance / Service: not exactly sure how I would describe the ambiance... sophisticated, sleek, almost understated because the views are what make it. Definitely a place to dress up for. Highly recommend trying to make a reservation so it overlaps with the sunset, especially in the summertime. You can step out onto the balconies whenever and capture some gorgeous videos/photos. If celebrating something special let them know - they will bring out a mini cake (ours was carrot and it was amazing!) Service was exceptional and definitely added to the overall dining experience. Food: can't recall all the courses, as they do change. Everything was delicious, with many flavor combos I've never had before. My other minor qualm was that I felt the main entree of the tasting menu should've been a bit bigger given the pricing and the size of the other courses. We also did the wagyu add on (though delicious) felt this was not worth the cost given how tiny the piece was. The main dessert was also underwhelming (mostly ice cream). What made the dessert course was actually the mini carrot cake they brought out for our celebration. We didn't leave super hungry but also did not necessarily leave full.

Celebrated an anniversary at Saga and had a a terrific experience overall. Impressively located on the 63rd floor with great views and terraces that you are free to go out on. Great intimate atmosphere. The food was very good though arguably didn't completely wow us. The service was impeccable and all of the staff members were very friendly. Worth a visit for the overall experience!

Came here recently with two friends and had a great overall experience. The restaurant is on the 63rd floor and as soon as you enter you feel like you are transported to another world. The vibes are old school NYC fine dining, in the best way. The major reason why many people probably choose to come here are the views, and they are really just as good as you have heard. They even have outdoor areas you are free to walk out on to further enjoy the stunning views. Food was overall quite good, but not near the best I've had in the city. There were no misses but nothing wowed me either. The wagyu supplement add-on was very good (although expensive) and we also really enjoyed the tuna. Surprisingly, the caviar dish was a bit disappointing since I usually love caviar. Just felt like the caviar got lost in the dish. Overall, I had a great time at Saga and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a traditional fine dining experience with an amazing view. As a major plus, we asked if we could grab drinks at Overstory (the speakeasy above Saga) after dinner and they were able to accommodate us even though they were otherwise full.

Saga was a beautiful surreal experience that started from the ground floor where we were greeted by professionals and when we entered the bar we were instantly transported into a culinary world. The whole experience was phenomenal. Service 100/10 Food was exquisite but portions were very small and I might add im a diner who doesn't eat much . The average diner might not feel completely satiated unless they ordered drink pairings . Highly recommend ordering several rounds of drinks to go with the food . Their cocktail and mocktail and fresh brewed tea was out of this world delish! View was 100/10 . Go for the views ! Go for the experience of being treated like a superstar ! Go for a very special occasion and make sure you have a big lunch if you go for dinner. Wish Saga would add a freshly baked bread basket to the starters ! That would be the icing on the cake!

Saga was such a nice experience! We came a bit late, but right when we arrived we were escorted up the elevator and given a drink of our choice as we entered from the pretty bar. Then, we were seated in our own area. We were able to go outside on the balcony area which I really liked. It was nice having an area to ourselves and a balcony to ourselves since it wasn't super packed out the day we went. The food was really really good. I forgot what my fav dish is called but its the one in the photos where the plate has a bunch of holes HAHA.

Saga is on the top floors of a high-rise in FiDi that is truly one of the unique and eye-opening dining experiences. The dining room offers panoramic views of Manhattan, east River, bridges and Brooklyn. The terrace is just breathtaking especially at night and can hang out there. The decor itself is upscale but warm/inviting. The staff were so kind and attentive the second you step off the elevator, offering a welcome cocktail before you get to your table. Everyone was personable and invested in your experience. The tasting menu was a mix of good and outstanding dishes. Caviar is a feature of several dishes - if you're a fan it's the place for you (but was done well). My highest were the potato salad caviar, dry aged madai/tsuyahime dirty rice, and venison. The meats were cooked so tender and juicy and paired so great with sauces. The madai and dirty rice had contrasting textures making a fun dish to eat. The course progressed well from light and softer dishes to these savory meats. The dessert - plum, elderflower ice cream was sweet and light to eat. The wine pairing was done very well and sommelier explained everything great in detail and even offered two dessert wines - the primary pairing is a Kracher Zweigelt but when I mentioned how much I love Sauternes, the sommelier came by with a complimentary glass of chateau d'yquem 2005! Just a fantastic experience from the venue, staff, food and drinks and is definitely a place to go for a special occasion. Afterwards you can take private stairs up to Overstory which Saga was more than happy to give them heads up to ensure space for you. Perfect place for nightcap.

I was able to make a last minute reservation a couple days out for a Friday evening. The restaurant was on the 63rd floor and in the lobby, once we checked in, we took a seat. Someone came to get us when the table was ready and we took an elevator up. We were sat outside with an absolutely gorgeous view. Liam provided top notch service and when it got chilly, we asked for blankets which they provided. The view here is absolutely unparallel. It was quiet and you could enjoy the conversation. The food were all amazing and we enjoyed everything. There was one dish that was overly savory but everything was still very good and cooked to perfection. After, we had asked if we could check out upstairs (Over Story) for a drink and they helped escort us upstairs. It was incredibly busy and the music was very loud but once we were able to get our drinks, we did make our way outside for the night view. Overall, what a beautiful view at a lovely restaurant and we would absolutely come back.

My first time in a Michelin starred restaurant and I can say it was amazing! Our server Bailey was so nice and friendly! The restaurant was on the 64th floor I believe, and the views were perfect for my anniversary dinner. (They even have balconies you can go out to before or after you eat) The food was absolutely phenomenal, I feel like not a single thing missed the mark for us. We were glad that they had a non-alcoholic drink pairings which was interesting at times, but overall really elevated the experience by either complementing or contrasting the flavors in each dish that was served.

First off, not open every day, and located on the 63rd floor. Lobby has a few seats as they prep the rooms (can't bring you up early) and then bring you up on a very slow elevator... old building. Friendly staff there and upstairs. We had a large party (17) and fit in a bigger room, dimly lit with a small 10x10' balcony that folks really enjoyed a good view of the north/east sides of the city and the night lights were great on a warm day. Balcony was a nice place to gather (although small) and do the appetizers. Appetizers weren't rushed, multiple plates of each: - fresh oysters on the half shell with a bit of malt vinegar and what I think was ginger or horseradish was tasty - potato croquettes with a little salmon roe - good balance with salty and savory - rice crackers with a bit of what I think was tuna - eh, so-so on the cracker Bread was a fine herbes pretzel; small diamond cut twist, and the butter with cream and herbs was excellent. The first was a nice warm piece of pretzel, butter smoothly melted. A second piece served later - cold and hard. Butter no longer made its way across in the same way, and was mostly disappointing so put it aside. Variations of seafood was a mix of three pieces - uninspired mix of fish that I could've gotten better with any Japanese restaurant I've gone to, and many even French places will do these with more interesting combination: - yellowtail with dry herb - ok - wonton skin fried with salmon roe - not a great skin - tuna on a hard corn tortilla - not exciting at all, the tortilla lacked salt and was generally too hard and not a good mix with the tuna. The next course, a caviar on tamago, potato and with brown butter was fantastic. You do have to enjoy caviar but it was exceedingly lovely balance of savory and salty. Bib salad was a large few pieces of butterhead lettuce with blue cheese, walnuts, and mint, along with apples. It was ok. Maine lobster was on top of a little sticky rice with squash, likely cooked in its' own juice - excellent piece and rich and creamy and a kick of spice. This was by far the best dish of the night. Spice, heat, salt, sweet, and creamy - not crunch but still pretty close to perfectly done and mix of ingredients. Saved the night, really. Duck was roasted but not crisp on the skin - not great, and some felt the duck was less tasty and definitely less cooked than they liked. Probably the worst dish of the night. You'd expect a French-influenced spot to better do the duck. The brussel sprout was literally a half piece of sprout, so half a singular piece. Could have used a lot more of that. Frozen nougat with quince and sesame for dessert was ok, but I'm not much into the nougat - it would have been better as a panna cotta instead of being as firm. Would have preferred something sweeter. The selection of cheese was heavy, very strong choices including goat cheese and a blue cheese; the crispy flatbread was the best part of this dish but not enough of it. The staff service was hovering and covering the area well. They didn't have ice tea, though. And then they didn't have a spicy margarita because they didn't have peppers which were a few floors down - thankfully someone decided to talk to the staff and they got themselves running on the supply for the margarita. The lobster dish was subbed out for a mushroom dish for one person who was allergic to shellfish (talk about not being the same value...). As always, the company I was dining in was great, but the restaurant didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

It stole the show. I've never had celtuce, loved it paired with the jelly, the texture and flavor were both amazing. It was the most interesting and prettiest dish I've had in a long time. For my entree, I had the bobo chicken, which is a poached chicken with a hint of spice and a nice broth. I ordered a side of rice to soak up the broth; the rice had something starchy tucked in it (maybe taro)? I liked it.
