Comfort food at it's best!!!!!! My husband and I passed through Springerville twice in the past week and ate here both times. When we stopped for breakfast, I had the burrito. Besides being delicious, it was HUGE. Never mind enough for two, three people could have made this a meal. It was filled with eggs, pork and hash browns. But don't get the idea that there were lots of potatoes just because they're cheap. The pork was plentiful and the star of this breakfast. It also had a delicious green chile sauce on it. On our return trip, we stopped at Safire again and had lunch. We both had burgers. Given my love for green chiles, I had, duh, the green chile burger with pepper jack cheese. My husband ordered the hangover burger which included bacon and a perfectly cooked fried egg. Both burgers were fantastic! As an added bonus, the burgers came with fries topped with green chiles and cheese. Truly a delicious meal. Honestly, I would drive the 45 minutes from Show Low just to have such a delicious meal. Beverage service needs a speed up. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive otherwise. Food was okay, but we didn't feel their breakfast lit up our world. Given the lack of choices in Springerville, AZ we'd eat there again, but not expect to be amazed. What I'd call a solid choice. read more

The restaurant and restrooms were extremely clean. But the only waitress was on a delivery when we got there so we had to wait. The chicken fried steak was decent, the mashed potatoes were completely cold inside. The appetizer sampler was okay. Jack Daniel's burger wasn't horrible. The site and menu say wine and beer, but they do not have alcoholic beverages. So if you want a beer after a long day don't plan on it. Not sure if that's just on Monday? read more

In town on business and this place was recommended by several. Gotta love old, local places like this. Ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed and vegetables. The steak, potatoes and gravy were par with anyone's southern grandmother. Absolutely fantastic. Only 4 stars because of the vegetables. Sorry Safire, but they were cooked way too long. We were disappointed. Monday was Mexican day and 2 of us ordered specials. The chips were stale and even when we asked for fresh they were the same. Sadly the same was true of the taco shells and wife had to scoop out the filling to eat the meal. read more

I hate giving 2 stars to a restaurant that I have visited just once, but this was a bit disappointing. Wife and I ordered patty melt and a bacon cheeseburger respectively. I received no bacon, which the waitress corrected. Now my wife DID get bacon, but you don't put bacon on a patty melt. Also, it was on white toast not rye, and not caramelized onions which is THE whole point of a patty melt. The fries were of unknown origin, sort of twice fried things, which I detest. I thought about the salad bar, but unlimited was a bit pricey. Poor waitress was trying to take care of hostess and waitress duties because someone called out. Burger meat was a bit overcooked and the onions were slightly desiccated. So.......... read more

Just had a quick, late dinner here on a busy Saturday night around 7:30. Only one waitress on duty going a hundred miles an hour while still smiling and remaining friendly & pleasant. While waiting to place our order, I munched on the warm corn & flour totilla chips with homemade salsa. My hubby had large hand formed cheesburger with all the trimmings and I had a baked potato with a green chili cheese enchilada. We were both pleased with our meals and very happy with the decent prices. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to no drink menu or bartender on duty. A staff member tried her best to help inform me of choices but was not very familiar with alcohol. We recommend this diner for good food, service, and value and will definately return. read more

Went for the Friday Fish fry. Yum is all I can say. Had the catfish AND the Alaskan cod. So good. Cowboys beans and coleslaw great too!

I live in Springerville so I get to eat here a lot. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I love the new homemade potato chips. Staff is friendly. read more

This is where I eat everytime I go to Eagar/Springervile. It is truly like eating in your own home. The servers are wonderful and the food very good.The prices are extremely reasonable. Now I'm spoiled so I don't go anywhere else when I'm in town. read more

We were passing through and had a delightful and delicious meal here! The staff was very sweet and the sandwiches were perfect. Do yourself a favor and order the apple pie a la mode (perfectly flaky)! Definitely will be stopping back here on our way back! read more

The best I can say is the dining room was clean. Both my mom and I were sick within 30 minutes after eating. I spent hours tossing my cookies (kindest way I could phrase it). I was extremely concerned I would not make my flight the following morning. I am only in Srpingerville 2-3 times/year but will never eat at Safire again. read more
