It's a great morning for breakfast on the patio.

This place is an absolute gem! Normally when we are up this way, it's outside of their operating hours but we got lucky enough today to catch them in the morning on a day they are open. The food is great and cooked from scratch. It's a small operation and retains that small town charm and hospitality. The portions are large and cost is very modest. They also have some amazing espresso/coffee. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for some delicious food!

Great morning to sit outside.

Best In St. John's! Cozy spot! Great Gyros! Most importantly are the awesome and delicious Gyros with pasta salad! Next for a hungry man sized appetite is the Mannwich Sandwich... Not to be confused with the hunk in a can, this is a handmade delicious sandwich that is guaranteed to fill you up! The Carrot Cake is surprisingly awesome, moist and delicious! Good coffee Smoothies Tasty baked goods Free wifi Friendly owners This is the best spot to sit and hangout with some wifi and sip some coffee around. Even a clean bathroom! They did a great job of restoring an abandoned St. John's bank and turning it into a modern landmark. Stop by and feed you inner animal!

This place is really amazing. We have eaten here twice when we have been in town. You can tell the place is a family run restaurant. They make real homemade food. We ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, the bbq sandwich, and a side salad. They have rotating specials on the board that look like they change everyday. We have had friendly service both times. When in St Johns this place is a must. Good food, served hot and made with care. Also the coffee was good too! Best coffee option in the town.

I love this place. The service is great, Liza is a wonderful lady who remembers you and make you feel like a guest instead of a customer. The food is amazing and you get big portions. The coffee is the best I've tasted. It's located in a historic building in downtown that they have taken the time to beautifully restore. So if you're passing through St.Johns it's a must stop.

Breakfast!!

Amazing breakfast! Hope to visit again! Highly recommend it. Quaint downtown area. Everyone enjoyed it. Well priced and portions where huge!!

Terrific food. My husband said it was one of the best Reuben sandwiches he's eaten. I would definitely eat here again.

Smells of scratch cooking welcome you as you walk in with smiles and the usual knickknacks for purchase to commemorate your trip abound. Seated outside and received our drinks quickly from our buss boy. Waiter arrived and took our order as the menu is large but it's got the staples if you're a breakfast fan it doesn't take long to decide. My buddy went with an omelet hash browns extra crispy w/ pancakes and myself the sausage link with over medium eggs home fries and toast. Large portions force you to take food to make decisions, over indulge, leave it behind, or take it to go. Thankfully we elected to leave it behind though it was all extremely delicious! We were given our check with no rush to leave but the travel plans had just begun so it was perfect. On our way out we just missed a rush as there was a line out the door so our 9:30am arrival was fortunate and awesome though we had no idea it would be. Definitely worth a morning breakfast if you're in this area!

The fudge in between the cookies was perfect ! The service was extremely attentive and welcoming such kind gentlemen working there. When we learned that Sweetheart had closed and Monica's Cafe had taken over, we decided to make the drive while visiting Show Low from Gilbert during a forest vacation. The decor was modest, rustic, and charming, with a blend of Native American touches and old country western character. The walls were minimalist, but in a way that felt intentional. It did not need to try too hard. As a vegetarian, trying a new restaurant is always a bit of a gamble. You never know whether food is cooked in oil or lard, whether rice or soup has meat-based stock, or whether something that looks vegetarian has hidden meat worked into it somewhere. It can be a tricky line to walk. We drove about 30 minutes to Monica's Cafe hoping for a good meal, and this place absolutely did not disappoint. Honestly, I think the reason the place feels so simple is because they have clearly put their energy where it matters most: the food. I ordered the veggie omelet with added tomatoes, a side of hollandaise sauce, and a pancake on the side. It was surprisingly excellent. After nearly every bite, I kept thinking that the food from this small cafe should not be this good. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and far exceeded expectations. Next time we are in the area, we will absolutely be coming back. I definitely recommend Monica's Cafe to anyone looking for a great meal in Show Low.
