    Pasta with eggplant.

Best restaurant in Lewisburg by far! Four of us went to Saffron for a Friday night meal, and were met with the most delicious meals. I had a huge serving of escargot as an appetizer, which was different than the standard butter/garlic style you usually see in restaurants. Served with mushrooms and a beefy-tasting demi glaze, it was a tender, succulent and delish. I then had a piece of bruschetta served with smoked trout and a frisée salad. Beautifully presented and utterly tasty! But the best came last: a huge serving of linguine with mussels in the richest, most decadently delicious fra diavolo sauce. I have had lots of linguine with mussels in and around the NY/NJ area, but this was the best I have ever eaten. My friends all raved about their dishes: pistachio-crusted salmon, lollipop lamb chops, grilled romaine salad, beet salad, and pasta with eggplant. All portions are big, expertly presented, and memorably tasty. The chef is professionally trained and has worked in high end restaurants in Philadelphia. This is very high quality food created by a true chef. It's amazing that such a place exists in a small town like Lewisburg. No, it's not cheap, but I guarantee that the you will not be disappointed with your meal here!

Great place for dinner! Don't be intimidated by the menu. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful so that you will find something amazing. The restaurant is BYOB. Great atmosphere. It's cozy and intimate. I can't recommend this place enough!

The delicious French onion soup, which had simmered for 5-6 hours before being served, with fresh-baked bread and Gruyere cheese.

The Wife and I went to Saffron with my parents and son tonight, and we all had a fantastic experience! We weren't sure what to expect because the restaurant just opened on November 6, 2015, but we all love quality ethnic-style foods, and so we were excited to try it out. As we entered, I was impressed by the warm colors and classy ambiance of the restaurant. After we were seated, the owners--Maher and Brenda--each came over to welcome us to their new restaurant. Brenda, who also works as an anesthetist here in Williamsport, took the time to chat with us and told us about how she and Maher first met and how they came to open their restaurant in Williamsport, while Maher, who is the head chef, told us about how each of the dishes on the menu is prepared. After talking with the owners, we knew that we were in for a treat, but I admit that I still wasn't prepared for how good the food was. First onto the table was some fresh-baked bread with a ricotta-olive oil mixture for dipping (picture attached). The Wife and I then shared an order of the soup special for the evening, a French onion soup that was simmered for around 5-6 hours before serving and included delicious bread and Gruyere cheese. For our main entrees: - I had the Parisian fillet, which is easily the most delicious and well-prepared steak I've had in the last decade (if not ever). The fillet was topped with a mixed peppercorn brandy cream sauce and served with scrumptious Gorgonzola mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus spears. - The Wife had the Tunisian seafood stew which included mussels, calamari, shrimp, and sea scallops in a light tomato sauce with coconut milk and orange. All of those savory ingredients were served over a bed of saffron couscous, and the meal was wonderful. - My parents ordered the Tunisian seafood stew (without the calamari, though) and the evening's dinner special, which was salmon mixed with fettuccine in a light sauce sprinkled with Pecorino Romano cheese. Again, both dishes were delicious. I also tried one of their red wines, a Pinot Noir, and it was smooth and flavorful. We didn't order any of the desserts, but the homemade cannoli with hazelnut filling sounded great, and I'm sure the tiramisu and safron ball options would have held up to the standards set by the rest of the meal. Before we left, I asked Brenda whether they would be open to hosting company holiday parties, and she said that they are already scheduled to host several in the coming weeks. She also said that she and Maher are available to come to your home and cook a special meal for you, whether it's for a romantic Valentine's day dinner or a celebratory feast for your whole family or friends. They really are a special couple that Williamsport is lucky to have as part of the community. We are all so excited that Saffron has opened in Williamsport, and we look forward to returning many, many times.

Vegan entree (not on menu), delicious!

Big city feel to this restaurant with an adventurous menu. It's very popular so make a reservation ahead of time. I'm vegan & although nothing is listed vegan on the menu I messaged the restaurant to make them aware and they were more than happy to accommodate. I've been here 3x and had a wonderful vegetable entree each time. It's a great place for a celebration dinner or just catching up with friends. Love that you can bring your own bottle of wine- helps keep the overall cost down. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

The service here is outstanding and the food is incredible and so unique. I'm so glad to have a non Italian place in Williamsport that consistently serves amazing food. Honestly, I think I've had almost everything on the menu and I've never been disappointed. I almost always get the grilled romaine salad, I love it!

In short: Tasty, but extremely small portions. Got the chicken shish kebab and also a garden salad with feta. Feta was an extra $4. Fresh but more of a large side-salad than a full salad. I felt obliged to let him eat 3 of the pieces so at least one of us had a semblance of a full meal. Not generous portions by any stretch for $30. Friendly staff and lovely decor. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how this restaurant has 4.5 stars…read more My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner on a Saturday. The place was empty. No slow. I mean there were no one else in the restaurant. It was 3:00, so I didn't think anything about it. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. Finally, the waitress came in the front door. Not sure where she had been. After being seated, the waitress was very attentive and helpful. She did a great job. I ordered the French Onion Soup to start. It was ok, but nothing exceptional. It lacked flavor and the richness you expect from French Onion Soup. It needed seasoning and something to set it off. It had a few croutons and very little cheese. When I say very little cheese, I didn't see and cheese, but it did string out when I pulled the spoon next to my mouth. I then had the Wrangler Burger. It was pretty good, but the hamburger patty hadn't been seasoned before frying. Again, it lacked seasoning, which is the theme for the whole dinner. I will say the type of bun was very good and grilled just right. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs. She said the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was really good. The meatballs were tough and dry. I would guess they were microwaved. And one more thing, check your tables. Ours rocked back and forth to an extreme. Once a week, level the tables. Well, we really wanted to live this place but their battle cry is, "Strive for the mediocre."
