Honestly one of my must go to restaurants when I visit State College. 1) Service is amazing. The guy is so friendly, will help you with your order/figure out what's best for you, and is so speedy it's actually insane. 2) The portions are huge. Where in 2021 can you feed two people (and get cokes) for less then ten bucks and still have leftovers??? It's amazing. Side note: I did try to do two orders and came nowhere close to finishing it hahah so come with a friend or be prepared to have leftovers. 3) THE FOOD. It's amazing. I always get the lamb over rice with the white and red sauce (red is spicy cause I like a little kick). It's phenomenal the rice is cooked to perfection, the lettuce they have is always crisp, and the lamb is always tender and tastes phenomenal. 10/10 you have to go. read more

Use caution before ordering from this Yelp listing. I placed an online order for delivery from Shaker's Grill because Yelp showed the business as open and accepting orders. My payment was processed, but the food was never delivered. After I couldn't reach anyone who could resolve the problem, I took an Uber from my hotel to the address shown on Yelp. At that location, I found a food truck operating as Halal Sher Gyro. I spoke directly with the man running the truck, who uses the same address and telephone number listed for Shaker's Grill. He told me that he bought Shaker's Grill approximately 11 years ago and that Shaker's Grill no longer exists as a separate business. Despite this, Yelp is still advertising Shaker's Grill as open and allowing customers to place and pay for online orders. In addition to paying for food that was never delivered, I had to pay for an Uber to investigate the situation and am now having to contact multiple parties to recover my money. I'm posting this to caution others: do not order through the Shaker's Grill Yelp listing unless you first confirm directly that the order will actually be prepared and delivered. I had to post a one star so that this could be posted. Just disregard the star for this Shakers Grill because the Shakers Grill does not exist. It is now operated at that address as a food truck under a different name so once again, if you order online through Yelp at Shakers Grill, your food will not show up because there is no shakers's grill at the posted address. read more

Pretty good. Not halal guys good but its the closet thing round here. I got the rice platter half chicken and half beef. The beef was def better, but the chicken isnt too shabby as well. The sauce is really good as well. Get tahini and spicy sauce if u like spicy. The plate cost me ten bux with tip so I think it was about 9 bux. I wish they had a better location that was easier to get to for non-students who arent walking, but I guess you could park in the parking garage. It's cold out there in the winter! We read lots of reviews and watched vids about a Halal place in NYC. We went, waited in line for ages, were disappointed. Today, for the first time, we tried this food (truck?) that's been in our town for ages. We parked in Pugh St garage, for less than 30 min is free! Well, this place had EPIC fried chicken and rice! The sauce was exactly the right flavor, the lettuce could have been shredded but that's no big thing. They said falafel would take half an hour. Next time I'll call ahead. This place is TOTALLY WORTH the fact that you need to park at a meter and walk or in the garage. Just enough curry flavor, but not overwhelming, hot chicken, yummy rice, fantastic! From my pic you can't tell, but lots of rice under that chicken! I don't know why people complain about prices...way more meat than in NYC, $8 just like New York, plus a free Pepsi or water here?! I'm not sure if this is the same cart I went to tonight, but I went to the one across the street from Sheetz. Even though it had just closed, the guy was super sweet and also gave me a ton of really amazing lamb in my gyro! I let my mom try some and she normally hates lamb but she loved it and came back for seconds and thirds! Definitely check this guy out-- some seriously awesome food!! My family had gone to sheetz for snacks and I wasn't in the mood to give my money to some big corporation. So glad I took the risk :) read more

This guy wouldn't open up until I finally called at noon (yelp says 11). I get that it's slower in the summer but was really disappointed it took so long for him to open cause I love halal food carts and this was the only one I could find in the area. Philly halal carts are much better tasting and cheaper so I wouldn't recommend. read more
