Finally! Delicious Indian food in Bozeman! The service is top notch as well. Saffron does not disappoint. The moment you walk through the door, the aromas are absolutely mouthwatering and give you a wonderful preview of what is to come. On my first visit, I had the Tikka Masala, and it was amazing. Tonight I tried the Korma, and I think I may have found a new favorite. The garlic naan may honestly be the best I have ever had. Wood fired, perfectly crisp, and absolutely delicious. The dining area is brightly colored, very cheerful, very bright lighting (we could handle a little less) and quiet enough you can carry on a conversation without yelling. It's no secret that Bozeman has a dearth of good ethnic restaurants. I'm originally from an area where Indian food was widely available and where many Indian people lived. There are a few Indian places near Bozeman, but neither of them were that good (especially for the prices charged). Saffron is a game changer. It's excellent Indian food, not just for Bozeman but for anywhere in the US. We had the Vegetable Pakora, Aloo Paratha, Paneer Chili and Aloo Gobi. Everything was delicious and authentic. One tip...some things are better in the restaurant, so for takeout be aware that fried items may end up being a bit soggy. Otherwise, thank goodness for Saffron, we finally have affordable, good Indian food in town. read more

Saffron is Bozeman's newest Indian restaurant and it is phenomenal. They offer some different menu options than our other current restaurants and I loved it. I had a vegetable curry with garlic naan and the naan was especially incredible. I just did takeout, but still experienced great customer service during pick up and my order was perfect. Absolutely love & thankful about this new restaurant in Bozeman! It can be so hard to find great tasting ethnic restaurants in this town. The butter chicken, naan, okra bindi, and delicately spiced basmati were amazing!! And we have eaten Indian across the country. We also loved how this place was casual, quaint, peaceful (no music or loudness here!) and those working here were kind and had passion for what they were doing. The big windows that looked out onto the street/sidewalk were nice to have too. They could try to change to softer lightbulbs to tone down the brightness since the windows let in enough light. Was just simply a great, enjoyable, relaxing experience to eat here and with great food too! We look forward to eating here again many times in the future!! read more

Had lunch today at Saffron on Main with the family. This new Indian restaurant is in the former spot were the Luna Cafe in Bozeman used to be. We ordered the veggie samosas for appetizers, they were delicious. Next. Butter chicken, lamb rojangosh, vindaloo and garlic naan. All these dishes were the authentic Indian flavors, spice and heat levels that the whole family enjoys. We will be back. read more

This is a new restaurant in downtown Bozeman, it opened two weeks ago, as of July, 18, 2026. While the decor won't win any awards, the food will. It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at, and I've been to many in various cities and towns in the USA. The Dal Soup was hands down the best I've ever had, along with the Garlic Naan - absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor. The naan was perfectly cooked, not doughy, not burnt and the garlic was generously divine. The rice too was perfect, with three separate whole spices, lightly moist and steaming hot and generous. In talking with the owner, I have sadly forgotten his name, MSG is NOT used at Saffron Indian Cuisine. This makes for even a better rating, wished all restaurants wouldn't use it. The Quinoa Salad was quite tasty. All the ingredients were chopped up into small pieces, the dish size enormous and salad heaped high, yet with attention to presentation. The Mix Veg Curry was fantastic, not runny, not oily, the veggies plentiful, the sauce robust - simply perfect. I ordered it with a bit of heat but it wasn't overdone, so didn't mask all the wonderful flavors. All this, about 40 minutes before closing. In my future trips to Bozeman, I will be making Saffron Indian Cuisine a regular destination. Try it. You likely will not be disappointed. BTW, asked about other locations, he shared there's also a Saffron Indian Cuisine in Steamboat Springs, CO and Jackson, WY. If I'm in these places I'll definitely be visiting. read more

I ordered the papadum and the tandoori paneer. I found the papadum not as crisp as expected, also rather bland. The chutneys were fine but all were ice cold from refrigeration. I recommend warming to room temperature before serving. The paneer was okay but again only lukewarm and also a little on the bland side. I like hot food even in the summer as it's much better for digestion. I always order papadum because I'm WF, GF, but I won't order this item again at this restaurant. This is a family owned business, and the service was excellent. I met many of the family members who are from Nepal and Darjeeling. All were attentive, kind and helpful. It is absolutely ridiculous how good this place is! Friendly staff honestly interested in making sure everything is right. And every bit as good as everyone one else says it is.
