D-LISH-US!! The menu will have something for everyone! We started with the samosa chaat, which was really tasty, but don't expect it to be like a regular samosa, this is covered in chickpeas and a sauce. Give it a go! When trying new Indian food I always start with what I know: chicken tikka masala. Curry Express's was delicious. My husband had chicken madras, level two, and he liked it but at that level, there wasn't a whole lot of heat but had good flavor. We also ordered the tadka daal, their vegetarian lentil dish! YUM!! And their garlic naan was so good we ordered a second basket! The left overs are going to be FANTASTIC!! This restaurant used to be home to an authentic Italian restaurant about 20 years ago, so it's nice to see a new authentic place take it over. The service was friendly and fast, too. We got there right at five and didn't have to wait for a table. Put this little gem on your list of places to try and show some locals your support! read more

Ordered chicken 65 to go and got tasteless dry pieces of chicken with sautéed peppers and lots (and lots) of onions. The side of rice was turmeric flavored rice with some cumin. My friend ordered chicken biryani which was terrible as well. It's the restaurant's version of Indian, nothing authentic about the food. read more

We stopped at a food truck park in Bozeman. My husband had a Paneer kabob and I had the Paneer platter. It was the first time either of us had a Paneer, but we both loved it. It was grilled so it had a smoky flavor along with the vegetables, it made a wonderful wrap. The sauce was a perfect complement to the paneer. I especially liked the rice and the curry with chickpeas. Ordinarily not a chickpea fan, but these melted away in my mouth. Glad we detoured and came here. read more

When I walked in the door I had my regrets. The waitress seemed like I was a huge inconvenience. When I was seated there was a dirty napkin underneath my table, I shoved it to the isle with my foot so she would see it when she returned to take my order. My assumption was correct, she saw the napkin and shoved it underneath the table next to mine with her foot. After looking around once I placed my order, I decided to look at the health score on Yelp where I found this restaurant. 78/100 main takeaways, hand washing not adequate and food handling. Shame on me, I almost left. Traveling on business all I could think was please don't let me get sick from this place. If not for the other Yelp reviews, I would have written off this restaurant based on the name and location alone. But due to a lack of lunch restaurants in Bozeman, I ventured outside my usual search radius and found this hidden gem - a true authentic Indian (both North and SOUTH Indian, even rarer) restaurant in Montana. I spent 8 years eating South Indian food in Sunnyvale, CA, which is a mecca for that specific cuisine even in the expansive San Francisco Bay Area, and I have high standards. I was cautiously optimistic just from reading their menu, and while nothing was as amazing as my favorite South Bay places, it was all solid with authentic flavors - the Punjabi Chole in particular has a great flavor profile. We'll be back for sure to try their fish and lamb dishes, what's a 3-hour drive to a Montanan in search of ethnic food? read more

Food was great and worth the wait after ordering. Took 20 minutes for food to arrive. Had a little issue with communication as the waitress spoke limited English. But the food made up for every thing. I would recommend this restaurant, just be patient. read more

I don't think you folks in Montana realize what a gem you have here. I've eaten Indian all over the country and this was pretty awesome. Waitress was helpful and polite . I was thrilled to find an authentic Indian restaurant in Montana. I was even more excited when I saw the variation of the menu. When asked what I wanted to eat on Mother's Day, I immediately chose this place. It did not disappoint. I chose the chicken tikka masala and my boyfriend the lamb masala. The food was amazing! It's hard to notice when you first walk into this restaurant the absolute amazing aroma! It is Aroma therapy. I've been here twice and going for a third time. The food is fresh and so delicious! The only reason I believe that this restaurant has business is because of lack of competition in Indian food. We tried placing a to-go order on the phone and while on the call taking the order the owner hung up thrice on us. That should have been our cue to not order from there. We were trying to pick up food and head straight to the airport. After reaching there we were told the order was never confirmed by the lady we were giving the order to on the phone even though she had repeated the order before we finished the call. My husband asked the owner and he told us exactly what we ordered and yet the kitchen never confirmed. No apologies anywhere. The owner was now asking us to place the order again and wait 20 min. My husband came outside and another frustrated customer came to us and mentioned he had been waiting for a togo order from more than an hour. While seeing the conversation between us and the other customer, the owner now decides not to serve us.. the other customer who was now standing there mentioned, good for you guys, the food is horrible anyways but because there's no other option in this cuisine they were out of choice. We have been to Montana twice, we will definitely go there again, but we will for sure remember not to consider going to this place. We understand this can be another issue because of worker shortage, but the owner's attitude went a long way in our decision to boycott and further mention this incident to everyone we know who will be traveling to Bozeman. read more

I think this is the only Indian Restaurant that is open for lunch near the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. We went there for lunch and the food and service was ok. Food was not that bad. I would have given them 4 stars for the service they provided, but the cashier refused the honor the 10% discount coupon that we had received from their web site today only (https://www.curryexpressmt.com/). He made it sound like that he did not even know what the coupon was and which web site I got it from. He just said that it is not working .... To me this is not about getting a 10% discount .... it is the way they behaved. To me they need to be professional and either honor the discount coupon they have on their web site or remove it. read more

I have learned to love this place. They have gone better after Covid and after they got their new building. I had tried 6 times ( in 2021 & 2022) and they were closed each time. They finally are open for regular business and I'm thrilled. Very good seating and service. I like "butter Lamb" which doesn't really exists, but they make it up for me every time - it's fantastic. This place was packed on a Tuesday evening!! That said a lot. The downside was only Sushmaji was handing all the tables. Even so she did a fanatic job juggling every table and the kitchen was fast too. I was a little bummed because I could not get any main dish made without onion, garlic or ginger. I guessed the kitchen was overwhelmed. Even so Sushmaji was kind enough to make me paneer pakora. I had starters for dinner :) but at the end of the day food is food and my jain belly was happy too. I often am conflicted about the meaning of stars in a Yelp review. One can view stars as absolutes or as relative rankings, and I am guilty of sometimes using varying standards. For example, I went to Curry Express this weekend as I was craving Indian food. I used to live in an area with a huge Indian population and had some of the best Indian food in the US. If I compare Curry Express to those restaurants, I'd have to give it one or two stars. On a relative basis, though, there are very few Indian restaurants in Montana and Curry Express is a solid choice here. The Samosa were excellent, as good as you'll find anywhere else, but the Aloo Gobi was sort of watery and the flavors were just not as bold and fresh as I am used to. If I am craving Indian again, I'll certainly return to Curry Express, but I am looking forward to more Indian restaurants opening here. read more

Great food, but customer service was lacking. I felt rushed to make an order, even when i was the only one in the store. In total I probably had about 3 minutes to decide what I wanted. There was also a strong language barrier between me and my server. If ordering from the store, order online. On the pros though, the food was good, and incredibly filling. I've had the Chicken Tikka Masala many times as well as the Chicken Curry and I have to say I felt like I was in Mumbai at a high end restaurant.... Consistently fine cuts of the breast meat and never any skin or anything other than quality cuts of meat. Great customer service with a warm friendly attitude. Highly recommended!!! read more
