I recently ate at Pakeezah in Bozeman first time was great food was good and fresh. I ordered a second time through DoorDash on April 14th 2026. That night I started feeling nauseous 4 hours after eating. The next morning it got worse. Come to find out I got food poisoning. I confronted the owner Priyanka Singh about the situation and she was very concerned and wanting to help. She told me to send over my medical bills when I received them. I didn't have her number saved so I tried to call the restaurant about it. Was put on the phone with some dumbass fucking numb nut who wanted to know all the details about the situation. We were craving Indian food and decided to try the only Indian restaurant in Bozeman downtown. Pakeezah was a huge surprise with its posh ambience and great service. Our server was way too kind and helped customize our orders well. We got the daal fry (yummy), aloo gobhi (a bit too spicy for me but I do have a low tolerance), Matar paneer, chicken 65 (was nothing like chicken 65 but flavorful nonetheless), bullet naan (so good), chili cheese naan (my favorite) and garlic naan (staple and great). One of the other workers came to chat with us and expressed how he loved Indian food and was happy to work there was heartwarming to hear. I'm not great with spicy so I shared the tiki masala and butter, chicken with no spice. We did share Level 4 spicy wings. Yeah, they've got a kick, but nothing crazy. I can handle it for one but not a whole meal. The cheesy garlic naan We had three orders of it. So. Yeah, it was good. The mango drink was sweet, tangy, and the perfect cool-down after the wings. Everything came out fast, fresh, and steaming hot, even with our big group. Our server was friendly, checked in often, and kept our waters and naan orders filled. The space itself is huge (great for groups) with colorful decor that's formal feeling without being over-the-top. Food quality was below average. Ordered Gobi (cauliflower) Manchurian and it was presented in a very stewy format. It had low amounts of gobi and a lot of stew. Stew is normal from my experience. Also ordered house special chili naan, which basically had chili flakes on top, did not find anything special about it. It was mediocre for the extra 2 dollars chilies. I would not recommend it. Secondary bread - Tandoori roti did not appear to be made out of wheat flour that did not look fresh. It was a bit dry. Chicken and vegetables dishes were a bit salty. Rice quality also seemed not fresh. Service was quick- no issues with service. Ambiance a lot of dark wood but string of lights made it little better. The kitchen was not relatively close to us but we could hear a lot of yelling and utensil noises. I've been here 10 times and in 3 of those visits the chefs blatantly gave me the wrong food. Last night, I asked for paneer tikka masala and deewani handi. Instead of the tikka masala sauce, they gave me just some paneer in the deewani handi sauce (see photo). Also, both dishes had the incorrect spice level. If this happened one time, it would be a mistake. However, three times shows the chefs are either incompetent or just think no one will notice. This is the equivalent of going to a burger place and ordering a burger, but getting a chicken sandwich instead. I was looking forward to trying this place. I love a good Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the menu is large with some nice options. However, portion sizes were small for both the naan and the samosas. The potato naan also did not have a lot of filling in it. Chicken Tikka was way too sweet for my taste. One of our party liked it, but I've never had Tikka that was sweet like this one. Ruined the flavor for me. The Eggplant dish was just OK. Best dish we chose was the lamb korma. We had aske for hot sauce, to spice up the dishes and a tamarind sauce to go with the samosas (which often come with that sauce). Surprise, when the bill came they had charged $3 each for the small little dishes with maybe 1/8th cup of sauce. Chintzy!! Service was mediocre. The waitress seemed disinterested and they had put a large jug of water on the table. We did not have room for it when the food came so we asked them to take it away. Come to find out the staff does not come back to check on you or refill waters. Making your patrons take care of their own water seems kind of lazy to me, especially when you can see there's no room on the table with all of the shared food. Rude, unprofessional staff on three separate occasions. Two were take out orders. I left a generous tip and thank you the first time hoping to boost moral but to no avail. If there was another Indian restaurant in Bozeman there's no way these people would be in business. The food is good, but on the expensive side and you will be charged $ for every 1/2oz side of chili sauce you ask for. Multiple to-go items and none of them are labeled. On another occasion multiple appetizers and all delivered at the same time with no identification and all looked similar. Choose your own adventure! :) Asked for a recommendation from the drink menus and the server replied "oh, I don't know. I don't drink any of that stuff." The butter chicken is so good and the shahi paneer might be slightly better!! Paneer is cheese but it doesn't melt. Sooo good! And the naan is to die for. The food is okay but is way overpriced as the portions are incredibly stingy. Only six small shrimp in a Shrimp Vindaloo dish that costs $23?! C''mon, that's ridiculous. There was only about as much rice as you usually see with one entree, not two. The raita is horrible, I make it much better at home, save your three bucks and don't bother.
