Shaded parking spaces! That matters on a hot summer day. I'm a diehard Safeway shopper. Even though they often get things wrong. Attention to detail is a thing and yet, its not often practiced. I was overcharged .79 for a sale item. Then, items I paid for were not bagged and left on the counter. Then, I was charged for a bag when I provided my own TJ's grocery bag. Y'know what? Let bygones be bygones and be glad for a clean, calm grocery store experience out here in the burbs. Life is short. read more

Safeway - 7-30-26 lovely shade in parking lot, it's a luxury - Grocery Near Me - Roseville, California

This review is for floral dept within Safeway Granite Bay. I purchased a single rose to give away for a performance. It was wrapped so tightly with a very small amount of baby's breath, no greenery, and no water to keep it fresh. I was charged $7 and a dozen was priced at $17.99. Very disappointing presentation and I won't be stopping at this location in the future for florist needs. read more

Generally happy with this Safeway location but your checkers are aggressively asking us to participate in a survey and "rate us 10". Last visit my checker asked me, asked me, not invited, asked. I said no. She came back at me "why not?", as though it was rude for me to not do the survey. I said because I didn't want to. She wasn't done. She said it helps us help you and could you do the survey in an exasperated voice. OY! Do NOT: 1. Strong arm me to do the survey. 2. No is no, end of discussion. 3. What kind of useful feedback do you get from asking people to rate you a 10? It was annoying and it's a thing now with you all. I'm going back to Raley's. Friendly, more ergonomic carts, and they NEVER try to make me do a survey. You've lost me. read more

I drove out to this specific Safeway in hopes of maybe finding a fresh strawberry shortcake cup, since the ones at the Safeway in Folsom had barely any strawberries on them. I didn't find any of these, because they were sold out. They were also sold out of acai and various other fruit cups, which is good, because it means they're popular. I ended up grabbing a $6.99 premade rice bowl from the hot wok area, which was just closing down. I also found a mini quince fruit spread. As I was browsing the front of the store, I could hear a woman yelling. The police were called, and ended up taking her outside. As I was watching this go down, I could feel someone staring at me from behind. I turned around to see this guy Steve who I used to wait on at the country club. He used to stare at me that same way when I waited on him, too. I shuddered and hurried to the self checkout line. That man made me feel uncomfortable for years. I was suddenly in a rush to stuff my mouth full of spicy chicken. As I was sitting in my car eating the rice bowl and watching this woman talk her way out of being arrested, a man sped into the parking lot and almost crashed into me. He was there to pick up the screaming lady and children. The cops were letting them off the hook. My rice bowl was pretty good, except the chow mein noodles were a little bland. But it was a pretty good deal for $6.99. What a trip.. read more

I've had some bad experiences here but yesterday was my first day home and I am recovering and was offered so much help in the store and to load my groceries etc. I also had the friendliest cashier named Alan. Thanks Alan for all the words of encouragement and patience yesterday. read more

Good store but the workers seem annoyed with their lives or something. Just got off work at 5 and went to get some groceries, no hello or nothing and when checking out no smiles at all. I actually said thank you have a great day while the checker just looked at me, if your that miserable at your job then QUIT!!! I worked at Safeway in Elk Grove while ago and we were required to say hello to every customer walking in and out also secret shoppers watched us as well. This store will go down real fast with unhappy employees!!!!! Def, not coming back!!!! read more

This place is slowly going to nowhere like the rest , the deli is terrible nobody knows what there doing or do they know what there selling. The deli staff doesn't know what the chicken is there selling or just about anything unfortunately. A very bad start . Don't buy the rotisserie chicken it's not cooked fully read more

This used to be my favorite store. However, customer service is going way down. It's hard to watch a great store going downhill. What is wrong with management? The deli department never has enough workers and they are losing customers the last time I even tried to get a sandwich made at the deli. The guy was such a sweetheart, but had no clue what he was doing. You got a new grocery store across the street that's gonna compete with you and you're gonna lose read more

In the deli area last night I stopped to grab a few things. I requested a few samples. This wonderful young woman was there and was incredibly helpful, she was happy to help with some of their pasta salads. I mentioned that I only sample what I already wanted and she asked why. I said that some folks get irritated if I ask for more than 2. She said not my store! She spent 10 minutes offering everything! I tried 4 more and ended up buying my originals as they were fresh! I ended up buying 2 more (they were amazing). Then my oldest son wanted their chicken and she didn't even ask and handed him a sampler first! He ended up ordering for not only last night, but more for lunch! The best part? She never once expected any purchase for the samples, I did obviously, but felt so comfortable that if I had not wanted anything she offered she wouldn't be upset! NOW THAT IS SERVICE BEYOND! Thank you young lady! They have created a lush and vibrant environment and numerous options! read more

this is our go to place but no more, on my recent order, so many things happened. The chicken meat all went terribly bad within just a few days, the fruit bowls got mold within a few days as well. The cherries (which is on sale) also got mold in them. I had terrible stomach ache in the past two days over and over and I tried to think of what went wrong... as I am writing this, I still have the stomach ache. The only things I have been eating are the things I purchased from this place. I know the items are on sale but it shouldn't go back within just a few days (like not even past 3 days!) My last time visiting there. read more

An employee at this Safeway store should never be allowed to serve customers at the deli counter. Her name is Crystal. Very RUDE and Unhelpful. Snappy when asked a simple question. She passes me to her colleague because she didn't want to answer my question or help me. She should be terminated immediately if she doesn't want to work. read more

I just went to the Safeway at Sierra College and Douglas in Roseville. I picked up a couple of items along with a prescription went to the checkout lines. There were two that were open about five stations apart. There are two people in front of me in the one line, both customers seem to know the checker personally. She checked the one customer through and then the second customer had a loaf of bread, I stood there for over five minutes, waiting for her to check the bread through so that I could check out. Rather than doing that, she suggested that Imcollect my items and go down to the other checker not wanting to have to pick things up. I said I'd wait. She then proceeded to ignore me and continue talking with her friends at the checkout station. This person it seems to be a supervisor at that store. I'm getting tired defending Safeway to my wife who prefers Raleys. I was insulted at her behavior. And I don't know her name. read more

Horrible customer service!! Will never go there again! They recently hired bunch of new people who don't know how to work at all. I wasn't able to buy what I wanted because the cashier starred at me with words, "oh I have to call customer service for this" and Just starred, waiting for me to refuse to buy the product. Extremely disappointed in my local Safeway at Douglas/Sierra College this past Sat night around 8PM. Cruised by to pick up just one (alcoholic) item and had to utilize the ONE checkout line (as self-checkout is not available for this type of transaction). I was next in line, but the women in front of me was having difficulty with her bankcard so the checker had to keep running her card through and eventually she had to call someone on the phone. By the time the checker called for backup, however, there were probably four to six additional people behind me. When the (young male) checker arrived, instead of glancing to see if I could easily pick-up and bring my items over to the next checkout register, he escorted a women with a full cart of groceries who was maybe fourth in line? The other shoppers simply followed her to the newly opened checkout line without that old world thought to common courtesy of allowing those who have been waiting for the longest to go first....no eye contact, of course. After a few more minutes of waiting for the nagging transaction to go through...the person behind me finally packed up and drifted to the next checkout aisle. I almost yelled over to the new checker to see if I could just pay for this ONE stinking item! I'd pay in cash, whatever. At that moment, I decided to not make a scene (although I felt invisible and in truth could have slammed the bottle down and no one would have noticed). I simply walked out of line, put the bottle down and walked out. My wife is right about customer service at Safeway.....It's not on par with any of the other supermarkets in the area. read more

My husband and I were grocery shopping today and a very nasty woman made a racial slur at my husband who had just gotten out of the hospital from very serious eye surgery...I could not believe what I heard so I said excuse me what did you say? She turned around and asked me if I knew English, I said very well, then she swore at me.... I said sorry you are having a bad day, she then shoveled me with her car and I said you don't want to do that is assault, she then grabbed me by my throat and tried to choke me.... I screamed for help and she ran out of the aisle saying I hit her....There are a lot of crazy people out there. The manager said I had to leave the store...what the heck...maybe he knew her. This store has bad Karma, this is where the fentanyl overdose happened. I'm done with this. I will be writing corporate. read more

The bakery staff is the RUDEST and unprofessional. Twice, I've gone to get a cake - the experience has been a joke. The first time the writing on the cake looked so unprofessional and shaky, I was embarrassed to present it. The second time I asked the young girl to write happy birthday on it, and she said "no". So I asked her to put the plastic decorations that said "happy birthday" as an alternative. read more

On Sunday, January 19, I was helped by an incredible Safeway employee named Abbie at the prepared foods counter. Another Safeway customer repeatedly walked by me, ogling me with no provocation on my end as I waited to be helped at the counter, and given my PTSD (in part) stemming from noticeable unwanted attention from people I do not know at all- I immediately felt my fight or flight instincts triggered. Unfortunately, this resulted in an angry outburst on my part, and I raised my voice, hurrying Safeway staff to assist me at the counter. Abbie stepped in right away, and calmly assisted me even though it was clear I was agitated. Abbie made me feel safe and comfortable immediately through impressive professionalism. I wish more people were like Abbie! Go Abbie. You rock. read more

I am used to Safeway in Hawaii so it was a bit of a shock when I shopped at this location. It was clean, very spacious, and well stocked. I guess this is how every supermarket is supposed to look. Lots of parking and there are other stores I usually shop at nearby, makes it really convenient for me. The customer service I received by young cashier and bagger was nice and friendly. Safeway was never my first choice as a supermarket in Hawaii but I think I'm gonna shop at Safeway more than ever now I am in California. read more

This particular Safeway is right on the border of Granite Bay and Roseville; this is actually known as the Granite Bay Safeway. My husband and I live in Roseville and another Safeway (located on Pleasant Grove) is super close to us but, we chose to come to this location because this Safeway is beyond amazing and is our favorite Safeway store. This Safeway is huge complete with its own cafe, a large Starbucks, and tons of product that is hard to find. They also have (get this!) 7 freezer aisles that will absolutely blow your mind. Special caution to everyone, you will spend more than your usual amount on groceries because there is so much to look at and buy that it makes it almost impossible to bypass anything. Displays are beautiful and the customer service here is outstanding too! I absolutely recommend to shop here is you are ever in the area. read more

This review is strictly based on their hot soup offerings. They're selection is pretty decent & tasty! I've come on several occasions, typically during the cold winter months, to try their soups. They offer 4 different options daily, typically the chicken noodle & tomato/basil bisque are standards. I'm a HUGE fan of their potato & bacon soup. Today I also picked up a small ($2.99) Jambalaya soup for a coworker, filled with lots of sliced sausage & chunks of chicken. Smelled of a good spice & got my tastebuds going from the aroma I could smell in my car on the way back to the office. My medium soup was $3.99, but they also offer a large for $4.99 which looks to be almost double the size of my medium. Have opted for that size in the past to make 2 lunch meals in a week. I love they switch out the types offered & also provide plastic soup spoons (I love soup spoons!), napkins, & Saltine crackers. If you'd rather, they also offer containers of their other soup offerings, such as lobster bisque, chicken corn chowder, chicken tortilla, beef stroganoff, & many more! But these are cold & would need to be warmed up. Lots of options & I hope to try a few others someday. read more

Nice and clean store. Staff is courteous and professional. Visited to buy some over the counter medicine. Fresh bakery products are really good...especially the blueberry pie cake. So many greaf deals and offers. It has many kiosks machines for coins, lottery, duplicate keys and much more. Overall it's well maintained store and nicely located off Sierra College & Douglas. The only downside is the parking lot which can get very packed and hectic at times but most of the time is OK. 4 Stars read more

I left a message TWO WEEKS AGO for their "Pharmacy Corporate Office" in Phoenix, Arizona two weeks ago. This number was given to me by the Store Manager. Shout out to Sherri working the Express Lane. She waited for us to place our items on the conveyer belt before refusing to check us out because we were "over the limit", by exactly 6 items. With no one in line behind us we gathered the groceries we were trying to buy and shuffled over to the very next aisle, checked out and paid. All while Sherri stood by, still waiting for a customer! Way to go Sherri! You found a way to take an unwarranted break by shoving the extra work onto your fellow employees. I bet they love you like we do! Btw, Night Manager Miles seemed to know exactly who we called to complain about. Sherri, you're working in a NEIGHBORHOOD store where people won't forget your name or actions. Your lack of work ethic will only ensure people like us will go elsewhere to spend their money. read more

After arriving to the store at 6:30 am and waiting half an hour, Amanda, the flower girl was not at her station, so I reached over the counter and grabbed a piece of paper to cover my flowers in. She came back and started screaming and cussing and dropping F bombs on me. The entire store stopped and looked it was very embarrassing. Some people are very uncouth and it's embarrassing that they have public service jobs. I'll never be coming back here. I will say Safeway has lovely flowers however and I made a nice bouquet. Unfortunately, the experience was humiliating and totally professional. To be cussed at it and screamed at for simply grabbing a piece of paper at an empty station seemed way overboard. She seems like a miserable person altogether though. Poor thing. Everything was returned to its original place and nothing was stolen. I did her job for her, likely better than she would, and I get cussed out. she's a complete embarrassment and shouldn't be working here. read more

Safeway - Amanda, the rudest, foulest flower person in the world. - Grocery Near Me - Roseville, California

Stopped in to see if the florist could help at all. We ordered corsages for Homecoming but the local floral shop dropped the ball. As you can imagine we were stressed trying to find an alternative. I didn't even get half my question out when the older red headed lady stopped me mid sentence and responded "NOPE". I asked if we could maybe buy a wristband so that we could make on our own. Again she smirked and said "NOPE" we don't sell the supplies. Interesting too that my husband ran by our Fair Oakes to see Marisa and she totally helped us. We usually go to Fair Oaks location where Marissa in floral works but ran into Roseville location on a whim. Won't do that again. Maybe Kroger management will train this team in empathy and service. The Roseville floral dept needs it. There a way to let someone down without being nasty or short. We were stressed enough already. read more

I hate having to push buttons on my phone to get the best price from Safeway. There is the "regular price", the "member price", if you click right, then there is the "U- bullshit price", for people who are computer savvy. If it had not been for THAT ANGEL, JULIE PASADORE, I would be an EX- Safeway shopper. Julie took my phone and helped me get the super good price and relieved my frustration over all the intricate pricing. She deserves "EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH" recognition!
