Tonight I had a very bad experience picking up an order at this BevMo location. I was picking up a DoorDash order. As instructed, I went to the back door and rang the bell. I waited around 20-30 seconds, and since no one came--and because I've had past experiences where the bell wasn't heard--I rang it one more time, just to be sure. A male employee with a long black beard came out extremely rude and aggressive ready to fight, asking why I rang the doorbell two times. His tone was disrespectful from the start, just because I clicked the bell twice. I noticed how frustrated he was, so I tried to change the mood in a light, humorous way and said, "Chill man, it's just a ring." But that made things worse. He became even more aggressive and started saying things like, "What if I come to your house and ring your doorbell multiple times?"--even though I only rang it two times, not repeatedly. He went on a long paragraph saying things like "Don't ring it multiple times, we're not deaf," in a very disrespectful way. Just because I said the word "chill", he got even more upset. He then started another long paragraph explaining that he was working alone tonight. I understand being alone and stressed, but that is not the customer's fault. If the store is understaffed, that is something to talk to a manager about--not something to take out on customers or delivery drivers over a simple doorbell. Despite all of this, I still felt bad for him. Maybe he was having a bad day. I tried to end things peacefully by apologizing and reaching out to shake his hand. He refused. I tried again, and he refused again. I've honestly never experienced that before, and it left me feeling really uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially since I did nothing wrong. At the end, when he handed me the order, he suddenly called me "boss" and said "have a good day" in an aggressive, sarcastic way--after already ruining my mood. It felt disrespectful and unnecessary. This is not an acceptable way to communicate with a customer or a delivery driver just because they rang a doorbell twice. If someone is having a bad day, problems with family, management, or working alone--that is not how you handle it. You don't fix those problems by making someone else's day worse. Did I deserve this experience just for ringing the bell two times? read more

I was extremely pleased with my experience here. Making an online for curbside pickup order was simple and easy. They gave me plenty of options for a pickup time. The offerings are quite extensive although these days with limited supplies everything listed is not always available. The other thing I noticed is many beer companies are currently using cans over bottles, as the bottle supplies are hard to get. I was surprised to see some of my favorite craft beers available only in cans, which was never the case prepandemic. None of this is BevMo's doing or issue, just be a bit broad minded in your searching and selections. I arrived at the designated time, called, and the boxes were brought right out. This is the worst bev mo I have ever been in. The customer service is absolutely the worst nobody ever helps you. When I finally went to the cashier He told me if I did not like the product I purchased that I could return it. So today I went in to return it and they told me I could not return it. The cashier failed to tell me I only had a few days to return it. So now they've lost my business forever I will not go back in there. I left the bottle with them and walked out. I always preferred total wine wine anyway, so I will continue to shop there. Total Wine blows lousy Bev MO away. Everytime. There is no zero stars. But they are a zero. Selection is not great and the young blonde lady at the counter was very unhelpful and racist.

We placed a curbside order since I didn't want to waste a few minutes trying to find what we wanted. They ask you to choose a pick up time. The options were so specific (15 minute intervals). I thought that was odd. The order was ready way before the interval so I headed out, parked in their front curbside area and checked in on my phone. My order was out within 2 minutes. The woman was friendly. I love the curbside pickup concept and hope it sticks around after the pandemic is over. read more

This place is awesome. Perfect floor plan and look to the store. Haven't been in a long time but one of the staff members knocked it out of the park for us. Dude in the happy dad hat you rock! Ended up catching us walking up to the register with a pack of Happy Dad, and stopped and asked us if we've had the fruit punch flavor. Haven't had it before so he suggested it. I just visited BevMo to get some beer. They had what I wanted, I missed the small print on the shelf label that said the 12 pack of beer I wanted was a club price, $17.99 instead of $18.99. As I checked out I thought the price wrong and when I received my receipt I asked the checker about it. He very gruffly said, that's why I asked for your number and told me to wait. I expected him to finish with the person he was checking out, but he waited on the rest of the line of 3 customers before turning to me. He never actually made any eye contact with me. Finally, I decided to just go to the end of the line to wait. When my turn came again, because of his rudeness, I asked for a refund. He did it with no question, but was still very brusk. This bevmo I would not spend a dime in, stopped by to buy a case of champagne, walked in the store not a single person to be found, had to walk to the back room to ask for help. Some guy comes out I say I need a case of champagne he mumbled something and walked away. While waiting for help John Wayne walks up doesnt greet me just says what do you want? I said I would like a case of your lowest cost champagne he says which one I point to a bottle I liked, he says to me why are you being a dick? really I'm being a dick he then says I'm I'm a bad mood my ankle hurts. Went in to get some cherries (non-alcoholic) and was told by the register clerk that he needed my license. I asked him if it was to look at or to scan. He said he needed to scan it to open his register. I told him that 1.) the cherries were non-alcoholic and 2.) I know nothing about BevMo's data security policies so I wasn't giving him my license to scan. There are too many data hacks happening out there and corporations are all asking to scan peoples' IDs. Some are doing it just to obtain marketing info. Had I been buying alcohol, there was a good case for it. In this case there was not. Think I'm overreacting? How about a 14,000 credit card breach from BevMo in 2018 (https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/bevmo-hacked-credit-card-numbers-taken/199652/). I didn't even know this was the case--I just Googled it while writing this. Don't be so quick to give up your personal data that will be put into a corporate database with who knows what kind of security. They won't care when they have a data breach. I was not a happy camper upon check out yesterday. This kid at the counter probably barely 21 asked me for my identification, then he told me it was to scan my ID. Two things, I am old enough to be his dad, my son is more than likely older than him, my daughter definitely is AND I have four grandkids. There was no need for my ID so I was already miffed that he asked, but as he took it, he scanned it. NOT cool... I don't want my ID in their system with all my information on it for when it inevitably gets data breached someday. This is not a good business practice, and I know it's not required because normally the people working at the counter is above the pubescent stage of life and could clearly tell, I was above the age of 21 without requiring me to show my ID. If it wasn't for that, the experience would have been much better; there was a really helpful guy who took a bottle from behind the case and took it to the counter... He was super nice. I just learned the other day that they are promoting a new delivery service for adult beverages to your house until 1 AM seven days a week 365 days a year and they will deliver snacks and other non-alcoholic beverages between 1 AM and 2 AM seven days a week! I've read some of the other reviews, and it seems like the employees only harass/ stalk/ ask if you need help unless you look young. I get it, you're worried about kids shoplifting but this location was absolutely ridiculous. My boyfriend came with me to pickup some drinks and we felt eyes on us the whole time. We finally had enough and just grabbed what we wanted and headed to the register where we were promptly denied service even with a valid ID. We've been to other BevMo's, Safeways, drugstores etc and have never needed to provide a second ID, only for the one purchasing the alcohol. My boyfriend had the unlucky fate of forgetting his ID (he is of age) but they wouldn't allow it. Complete waste of time and gas, went to another BevMo and received wonderful service. Do not come here if you're 21-25 unless you want to be stalked the whole time in the store. Wouldn't come back here even if I was held at gunpoint. I lied, I ended up going back and I must say that I am glad that I did because I met "Dan" (no this isn't a romantic story). Well, it sort of is... You see, I am madly in love with my brother (no, not like the movie Gladiator) and my brother is a scotch guy. It was a few days before Christmas and I was over in this shopping center so I decided to pop in despite my previous experience. Luckily connected with a guy named Dan, who helped me pick out a bottle of scotch. I got the the full on run-down of his favorite ones and why. My first assumption was that the more expensive the better it would be but Dan broke it down in such a way that I ended up getting a scotch that was cheaper than I had planned on ($70ish) but was a home-run with my brother for the exact reasons that Dan suggested it might be. *Starts to whisper* My sister got him a bottle that was over a hundred and he said it was flat in comparison. *knuckles* to Dan. I don't ever write Yelp reviews but this was such an all-around irritating experience that I just had to. Yesterday I received a keg from a different location that had the wrong beer in it (was supposed to be Blue Moon, was some light beer like Coors or Miller). That's fine, mistakes happen. I went to this location to exchange it because they were the only location in the area with another keg of Blue Moon. So I talk to Anthony on the phone and he insists that only Blue Moon comes in the kind of keg I have, but said I could come in anyway if I really want. I get there and this Anthony guy doesn't help unload it from the car, but instead proceeds to go and get a tap and a cup, and he taps the keg in the back of my car and pours a cup to see if it's really not Blue Moon! THEN he takes a sip and says, "Oh yeah that's Blue Moon". As if I'd load a full 160lb keg into my car BY MYSELF and take it all the way back to the store to exchange it if I wasn't sure it was the incorrect beer! In the attached picture the beer on the right is what came out of the keg, and what he was trying to convince me was Blue Moon. The beer on the left is actually Blue Moon. I don't know what Anthony's game plan was with telling me it actually was the correct beer - either he is too lazy to exchange it or just always has to be right - both very poor traits when it comes to customer service. The rest of the experience was equally unpleasant and irritating. I ended up having to drive and return the keg to the original location because they wouldn't exchange it for a different size (they had Pony kegs which is what I wanted originally). Then I get to the other location, the guy lets me return it immediately, no questions asked, and also mentions that it looks the same as the keg Coors comes in so it's possible it was swapped. Thanks for nothing Anthony, I will never be returning to this BevMo except to return the shell when I'm done. read more

Pushed button again. Waited a while, wandered nearby aisles, no one came to help, I walked out and went elsewhere to make purchase. This is not first time customer service issues here. Previous times push button told oh it doesn't work and you needed to hunt someone down. Only time I have had decent service is shopping right before closing time when few shopping. read more

Bev Mo review went from five stars to one star. They have lost a frequent shopper. For as long as I can remember, I have shopped at Bev Mo. However, the last five times I have gone they don't have what I want in stock. I am not looking for obscure spirits. Do they carry Hornitos Plata Silver in 1.75 liter? No! I was told they only carry it in a small bottle now. Segrams Sweet Tea Vodka in 1.75 liter? NO, They are consistently out of it, or they only have the small bottles. This BevMo was the first place I bought alcohol from that wasn't a convenience store. Everything is organized well, and the employees are courteous, however, I don't like that I need to ask for assistance in opening a locked case. I understand they do it to avoid theft of their higher-priced items, but that kind of thing takes me back to when I used to live in the ghetto. They do good business here, but I'd rather shop at the competitors solely because they don't lock their products. It's a trust thing. read more

Worst customer service. Bought one bottle that said $19.99. Cashier rang me up and total was $32. I paid and then realized the tag had said $19.99. He says 'oh that's when you buy two'. Oops. Didn't see the small print. Ok I'll take another one then. Next total is $26? Umm huh? I already paid $32 so my total should only be about $12. Took me asking for two different managers who BOTH tried to tell me I was wrong. First one tried to tell me it was tax. Umm ok , NOT. Second one tried to tell me because it was ringing me up separately that my second bottle was free. Umm not if you are trying to charge me another $26? She finally credited my first transaction and re rung up the two together. Guess what?? It still came up wrong!! And then she was rude. Avoid this place. Four stars and I'll definitely be back. A very large selection of various local, national and international beers, a good selection of wines and satisfactory amount of liquors. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They'll help you search for that beer you only know by... wait, I think it's name is... I think the label looks like...? The main takeaway is that it's a fun store and well-worth a visit. Their prices are moderate and on par with other shops but you're going there for the selection, not the prices necessarily. As far as BevMo's go, this one has been the best when it comes to selection. I've been on a hunt to own all of the Absolut flavors and this store had a ton. They even had several different limited edition bottles and flavors, which was awesome. While I was browsing, I noticed there were several coupons attached to various bottles. I had been to another BevMo earlier that week and was informed the coupons are only valid on non-flavored varieties, despite the fact that the coupons were placed on the flavored bottles as well. Confused by this, I asked an employee for help. (I believe her name was Suzanne.) She told me that she would be more than happy to let me use the coupon on the flavored varieties AND she even adjusted my old receipt so I could get my money back from the employees who didn't let me use the coupon! Score! I am so happy with the service I received from Suzanne that I will definitely return to this BevMo over others in the future. read more

BevMo has lost my business. Their average selection of wines and nothing special prices give me no incentive to go there. Total Wine Offers so much more and much better prices. The BevMo 5cent sale is really not that good of a deal. Once in a while you can find some good wines but most of the time they are average to low quality wines that are overpriced. You think you are getting the second one for 5cents but really these wines are marked up to begin with so your discount is not that great. Head over to Total Wine for a great selection and better prices. read more
