I always stop in here for the deli, they make awesome sandwiches, great for lunch or dinner always very tasteful.

Their produce is terrible; I have had MANY instances where the produce looks good on the outside but inside is rotten and then tonight we bought an 18 pack of taco shells and 10 were broken already when we opened them!! Uggghhh read more

I love to place large orders for breakfast here. I find the food to be really well received and very affordable. I always call at least a day in advance and place my order, however the last two times that I have placed my orders they were not ready in time. In fact they were ready more than 20 minutes late. I get it, I'm a pretty understanding person, today though there were 3 people working behind the counter, and only one on my order, which was was way behind. A manager walked by and commented on how one of the displays was set up beautifully, and before 8:00 am. It was frustrating watching the woman who was helping me stress out and no one in the team offer to help her out... I hope that someone reads this, and that a more team approach is encouraged. read more

Abdul is so funny and friendly! I just love him and I go to this safeway weekly and have been for 5 years. Aside from that, today around 8 I went to deli for breakfast burrito and macayla had a customer in front of her. I was next but did not get greeted for about 5 min. They were waiting for something I guess. Just saying, would have been nice to be greeted and told one moment. Then she finishes with him and says, (after 30 seconds) what can i get for you. Her tone was that of a, " i dont want to be here, i had a bad night, customers suck kind of tone. So while she made our burritos, my daughter and i ran to grab some fruit. When we got back she placed burritos on counter and said have a good day and took off. I dont think she made eye contact with us one time nor smile. So i asked if i could pay there and she said yes, but it turned out i couldnt cause i had fruit. So I Dont want her to get in trouble, but maybe just know that its ok to have bad days, but customers can feel and see that, and it was not a very pleasant way to start off the morning. Oir burritos were very good though :) Hope you had a better day!!! read more

The staff is friendly but they are way too expensive. Their sale prices are more expensive than Walmart.

Deli , bad quality chicken wings . Feels like it was left out for a day when I ate it . Not worth coming back .

I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge the Bakery at the Safeway on Granite Dr., Rocklin, CA. These ladies, Mngr. Natalia, Renee, Carina, Heather-Decorator, and Tatania-Donuts, all take the time to know who I am on the phone. I have an irregular schedule and to ensure my bread is available, all I have to do is call and they put aside my favorite bread for me and even slice it for me! I was surprised to see low ratings for this Safeway, I think its great! They have a decent selection of fruits and veggies, even organic. They have amazing deals if you take advantage of their Safeway Club Card. I did, since it is right down the street. I registered my card online so I can customize and upload my coupons to get EXTRA-good deals. I especially like to shop here when the chicken breasts are on sale. For example, when they are usually $10, you can get them at club price for $5. Even the best cuts of beef go on sale frequently. We always get the best customer service from browsing to checkout. Just today, someone in the meat department approached my boyfriend and I and helped us decide on what to make for dinner, and how to prepare in various ways, different kinds of meat... And I can't forget the checkers, they are always so friendly and make conversation. Thanks guys!! =) read more

I come to this Safeway for my breakfast burritos before work. Mac Daddy Micayla helped me and she was a breath of fresh air. Fresher than the potatoes she served in that awesome burrito for just $2.50. I won't be going to Adalberto's next door anymore for that $6.00 breakfast burrito...unless I feel like brushing up on my spanish. So forget that place. Just go through the doors and follow the laughter that'll start your day right in Safeway. It's not the Safeway, it's the right way! read more

I stop here when I am working in the area for Chinese takeout. The thing is there are at least two cooks one that cooks good Chinese food and one that doesn't.You can tell by sight who cooked the food because when the bad cook is here any dish with vegetables in it will look totally overcooked and sad. I am here for convenience and because the food Is usually good. Today I can see the bad cook is here but I decided since I don't have much time for lunch to get a rice bowl how bad could it be.? Just rice and meat. The chicken was tasteless without a hint of heat from the pepper's and he managed to make white rice unappetising. Will not try again . Review based on the Chinese food only , I do not shop at this store and can't speak about other departments. read more

If I could give this store a big fat 0 I would! I work right across the street from this store but I am now going out of my way to other stores to avoid having to shop there. The clerks are more focused on chatting with each other than helping customers. I have gone in first thing in the morning at 8 am, no lines but have to wait for them to finish there conversations before they can be bothered to help you. I Have gone to the Deli at Lunch time and they have 1 kid working the counter to help all the people wanting to grab lunch. Most stores know how to schedule employees around the busy times. Not this one! Every time I left this store I was angry for one reason or another. This store is a BIG fail! I went to Sprouts the other day and there were a few people in line and they called up extra checkers. They said there focus is on no lines or short ones as they know there customers can go elsewhere to shop and rather they didn't. read more

This store is constantly struggling to have enough help. Do not come in here if you expect to get out quickly. There was supposed to be a "three's a crowd" policy but as soon as they have two cashiers up front, that's all you get and you end up waiting in a line of five or six people. I can see that the poor cashiers are trying as hard as they can but it simply isn't enough when they don't have any help. They end up calling for all sorts of people to come and help, but there is no one except for the self checkout clerk who then has to leave her station and all her customers. This store features baggers that don't say a word, a deli clerk that smells like he slept in a dumpster (and he's handling my food? Disgusting!), a frozen department that has huge sections of iced-over product. How can Safeway be such a huge chain and not even keep its stores stocked with working machinery and employees to take care of customers? I honestly love most of the people at this store but I don't feel like I have the same connection I used to with them considering by the time I get to the front of the line I've already lost my patience, and the cashiers are in such a struggle to keep up that neither of us is able to have a genuine friendly conversation like it used to be. I can only get this experience if I arrive very early in the morning or late at night. I miss the old Safeway. read more

I am more disappointed in the staff than the lack of items. With several new stores opening (Walmart-grocery, Target, etc) I would expect the staff to help customers rather than talk to each other or their phones. Just disappointed in this. read more

I shop here often as it is close to my house, but after this most recent trip and about the 3rd or 4th time in a row I've been treated like trash by the staff, I'm going to Raleys, its just as close and it's a lot nicer and clean and the employees are nice to me. read more

So this review is only for the experience I had with the self check out guy who was a complete creep! Every other time I have been to this store it was a much different experience in fact I even know the names of a few checkers. Normally I don't shop at this location, but I was on the way home from...shhhh "Whole Foods"... and I decided to finish up since they were just off the freeway. All I can say is that I'm way glad that I pick up fruits and veggies at the other place ;) They didn't have an organic section in their produce department. I was completely shocked since every other Safeway I've been too (Auburn, Citrus Heights, Folsom) all have a small section just for organics. Maybe they had them spread out through the area, but I didn't bother to look. They had a pretty good selection, but still lacked way behind the standards of your typical Safeway. The ice cream selection was horrible though. It was so hard to find something that didn't have preservatives in it, and they didn't carry any gelato, which I've found at all the other locations, maybe not the same selection, but every other one at least at it in stock which this one had zip. The service was fine, but I probably won't return to this one which I'm really bummed out too since it's right off the freeway and I don't have to backtrack on my way home from work :( read more

Horrible customer's service. They have no idea what it means. Should probably have the definition put up next to there clock in time card or have a tutorial for the "managers" and co workers. I live very close to this Safeway and I could not ask for a better staff or store to visit. Sure, I often times vow to only shop at Winco merely for the cheap prices, but Safeway is where I always end up. You get fantastic service, produce and meats at a great price. It is worth paying a little bit more for what you want! read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced! As I am waiting for my change, Monica informs me that her change machine is down and proceeds to ring through the customer behind me. When I asked her if I should wait for her to give me my change, she rolls her eyes, grabs the charitable donation box off the counter and tells me that she'll have to get it out of there. WTH?!?! Of course, I told her not to do that as the charity needs the change more than I do and leave. I call the store from my car, ask for the store manager and Matt gets on the phone. He was both dismissive and rude. When I asked him if he was really the store manager, he replied, "assistant". When I told him that it was not appropriate for the cashier to start ringing up someone else before opening the register and giving me the appropriate change, his reply? "okie dokie"... Unbelievable and a very, very poor showing, Safeway. Classy. read more

The last several times have been frustrating at this store. Customer service is sorely lacking. Self check-out is usually supervised by someone who clearly would rather be elsewhere and some of the cashiers leave a lot to be desired (Kimberly, for one) I miss Michael! It seems like the friendlier ones have moved on in the last 2 years, and so will this customer. read more
