I buzzed for assistance. It took 8 minutes later by chance an associate and walked by me and he noticed I was waiting.

It was our first time at this Safeway getting things and we stopped by the Deli to look at their meals for lunch. The younger lady at the deli counter helping us was amazing! She was incredibly helpful and super nice while we were trying to figure out what we wanted. She truly went above and beyond, we'll definitely be coming back to this Safeway if this is the employee engagement!! read more

I have lived in Rocklin for 30 years and avoid this store at all costs, even though it's literally right behind my house. It smells when you walk in. They are always out of EVERYTHING. I go there to pick up something I need for dinner, and they're out of it. Their meat dpt is horrible, virtually 0 selection to choose from. Needs a new manager and renovations. read more

I went in to pick up my son's cupcakes for his birthday and they said they didn't have my order. I was in complete shock! The kid that took my order wrote down the 11th instead of the 10th. Needless to say I started freaking out. I had to go to Nothing bundt cakes. Safeway bakery needs to give back the yellow copy to the customer so we are able to check to make sure they got the order right. read more

I hate to do this but I have to. I work doing food delivery. It's so hard to shop at this store. I have seen bugs in the donut case. The produce is absolutely terrible and hard to find something fresh. Today at the meat department they said they don't make hamburger patties anymore. Huh? There was tons of lettuce today. But any without brown spots on it? No.. I don't understand what's going on at this store. It's very frustrating though to shop at it. I try to avoid doing orders at it at all costs because I get blamed when customers are upset and I literally tried my hardest to get the best they had. I'm not sure what the issue is and why it's so bad. But I wish they could do more to fix it. Just had to vent. read more

We were in the area last Saturday and wanted to get some snack foods. The store was clean and not too busy. We found everything that we wanted and made our way to the check stands. Purchasing only Club Card discounted items, the cashier was surprised that our savings was greater than what we paid. read more

I've been going to this Safeway since the time I've lived in Rocklin (about 6 months) and so far I've had a great experience. Dan and Joe are two of the night shift workers and I always get a great impression and sometimes we have a laugh! It's not too often you can joke around in this new-age especially in public; but these people are amazing and don't hesitate to express their friendly and upstanding personalities! I went on a drive here mid-morning (10am-ish) to get a salad before work after hearing they make them fresh every day. I asked one of the Deli ladies (which I feel bad I didn't catch her name) to guide me to the salads and she was very willing, helpful, and kind. She didn't hesitate to help a customer (in this case, me) and I really appreciate that! Sadly my salad wasn't as fresh as I had liked since the lettuce wasn't very fresh but everything else was fine and I didn't mind too much as I'm sure the product distribution is out of their control. What a dump! I stopped by to purchase some flowers yesterday. I picked out some flowers, baby's breath and a vase. I brought them up to the floral counter where there was a young clerk doing nothing. I asked her if she could incorporate the baby's breath into the flowers, put them in the vase and add water for me as my next stop was to deliver the flowers. The clerk stated, "I can but I'll have to charge you double for the items." Thinking this was a joke, I asked if she was kidding. She was not kidding. I guess it would take her away from texting or other non-productive activity she was engaged in. I put everything back and picked out a pre-made arrangement and asked her to ring it up. She replied, "I can't because I have no till." Amazing! I then walked over to the self checkout because there was only 1 full service checkstand open and there was a long line. I completed my checkout however the register did not provide a receipt. I had to track down a clerk to get a receipt for my purchase. Leaving the store, I walked to the automatic doors which I entered through and they did not open. I had to force the doors open so I could exit the store. All I can say is there was no sign of any management around, the store had a dirty appearance and total lack of customer service. I certainly won't be back. read more

I was in a panic as I called Safeway Customer Service @ 3pm on a friday as I was in need of 90 $100 gift cards for a company function by MONDAY .. I had the pleasure of dealing with LEAH who went above & beyond to take care of me in my time of need .. she had me come right down & pulled 90 gift cards off the shelf & proceeded to activate each one in a timely matter counting back each one as well as double checking price & accuracy on top of helping multiple other customers who were wanting Carpet Machine Rentals, Money Orders, & Western Union transactions etc and patiently one by one she helped them with a smile in between my transactions. I am not necessarily speaking about the entire store, just one employee. Safeway had an item on sale that is hard to find. By the time I knew it was on sale, I got there too late, and they were out. Tammy took my name and phone number and said she would call if they ever got it in. She called the next day and had 2 of them for me on hold. I asked the other Safeway stores in the area to do the same thing, and they wouldn't do it. Tammy provides 5 star customer service. Thanks so much. read more

It is what it is, a crappy grocery store with very little pros. Definitely don't do grocery pick up from here, you won't receive items but still get charged and have to deal with it for weeks. read more

My review is solely based off of the cake and balloons i had ordered. I came in a month and a half early to find a rainbow balloon for my daughters unicorn themed party. I found the one that i wanted but it was the last one, and discontinued. The wonderful lady with the short hair and bright red lipstick told me she would hold it for me. And when i walked in 10 min earlier than i said i would, a month and a half later.. my balloon was waiting there already blown up. I also had ordered cupcakes with decorations of a unicorn which had been very hard to find. And the cupcake sheet was delicious and so adorably decorated. Totally helped make my daughters birthday party special. Thank you to the woman in the bakery who made my cake and the woman in the floral/balloon section who saved my daughter that very last balloon. read more

I needed to order a custom photo. Ake for my boyfriend's upcoming birthday. I drove around to get quotes and availability from multiple bakeries in the rocklin/roseville area. After being told no at multiple locations, and even being interrupted mid-sentence by a manager while discussing options with a bakery clerk, I was beyond thrilled with the staff at this Safeway's bakery. Both the gentleman who I initially got a quote from and the lovely lady (manager of the bakery, I believe) who took the order and made it were absolutely wonderful. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They made the cake better than we imagined, and even unsold us on an extra bar car by genuinely listening to what we were looking for and relaying a similar type of cake would be on special the day of pick-up for the order. The courtesy clerk and bagger were both extremely friendly too. Beyond happy with the service and order, and would reccomend yo anyone looking for a custom cake! read more

Since I move to this area this safeway has a problem with keep expired food on the shelves. I stopped coming here because of it. I also became disabled so i can only get my food delivered...i tried this morning because they were the only place open as early as i need some things. I got expired food. It's not okay to keep expired food on the shelves. I will be reporting this store because this isn't the first, second or third time...this store shouldn't be in business if they're gonna keep selling expired food on the shelves. I can't look at the expectations dates either since im not the one shopping so the shopper doesn't know to look for it. read more

One bad experience should not dictate how good or bad a store is. I always buy a beef hoagie or their 3.99 sandwiches for lunch. This sandwich... The lettuce was black. I ate all the black parts unfortunately. My picture is of what is leftover... It had a funky taste and by the time I checked I was half through. I threw the rest away. Yeah I had an energy drink with it so it washed down most of the aftertaste. Just sharing... Hopefully they change out the sandwiches more?.... Or use fresh lettuce? 3 stars cause I do like this Safeway. Lol read more

Thank you Jessica and Meg for making my shopping experience so much more pleasant! I shop at Safeway as this is my go to grocery store because it's convenient and really has great produce. I sometimes get confused about the digital coupons, but downloaded the Safeway app along time ago to be familiar and avoid paper clutter coupons and I really try to make sure I have everything aligned prior to being rung up. I get really embarrassed when I try to figure out why prices don't match up because then post transaction I need to wait in customer service line to see the matter and so often, I just say forget it and go home because I just don't have time and I don't want to make a big fuss for a couple dollars. This time I was at the self check out line and first item already had price discrepancy. I flagged the attendant to help me figure out why the first item already had a price mismatch from my Just4U coupon that I clearly added to my list. The young gentleman was very nice, but he did not know what to do and the lady who was overseeing it told me to go to the register. I had already waited for the self checkout line and now I waited at the register for a cashier. Meg told me to go to the items that I already added to my list and from my list check them again to gain rewards, this I really didn't know I had to add twice for rewards?! I'm so grateful for the knowledge. Jessica and Meg were so gracious, kind, and extremely understanding on the confusion so after that transaction that really started off as anxiety stricken became best customer experience at register ever! read more

Don't shop at this Safeway if you don't want to be exposed to numerous maskless shoppers. I saw four people today who were not wearing masks. I confronted three of them and also confronted the store manager. The other shoppers apparently don't care about the well-being of others and store staff was unwilling to enforce the law. I feel so sorry for the store employees. This isn't fair to them. read more

Yes the store is clean and well stocked. My registrar was a very friendly gentleman. He rang me up, I checked my receipt saw that my vitamins were not buy one get one free as the sign said so I brought it to his attention. By then he was helping the person behind me so I stepped aside to customer service as another employee went to verify the sign. He came back and said yep they are buy one get one free. Abdul decided he was going to check a second time and came back and said no. I know what the sign said, thats why I decided to try that brand, the other employee saw what I saw and then Abdul was combative. "I can show you" uh yeah because you obviously just went back there and took the sign down. For crying out loud I shop here on a regular basis and spend $200-$500 per shopping trip. This was a totally deceptive and maddening. I felt like returning all of my groceries just on principle but I have a family to feed thats waited for me to complete my shopping for over an hour. My point is this: 2 out of 3 people saw the same sign, why weren't they able to honor what their sign said? And clearly the third person, Abdul, removed the sign that was posted. For this I'm taking my business elsewhere, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Savemart here I come. I'm done. read more

We've shopped this local Safeway for years. Although we now live closer to another location, I venture to the "other side" of town weekly. The staff is very friendly. We love the meat/seafood counter. The ONLY thing I would request they "improve on" is their floral department, it is nothing in comparison to other Safeway's. We are particularly fond of the regular Courtesy Clerks (particularly Cody) he is VERY friendly and always brightens up our day with his smile. read more

I gave them five stars for customer service. Two times when there was a problem (once, not putting all my items in my bag, and the second time some hot dog buns I bought were moldy inside once I took them out), they apologized and did very nice things that were going above and beyond and gave me extras to make up for it. I'm disappointed Safeway, I expected better from you. I recently purchased a home near this location after having lived near the location off of Park, man what a difference a few miles make! This store has a poor selection of gluten free and healthier alternatives, what gives? I've also come up to the register a few times to find the cashier on their phone, OK... but you make me wait till you're done sending your txt? Not acceptable. And the place just feels a little run down and dirty. Meh. I really hope this gets read by management and taken into consideration. I just stopped in for a quickie at 10pm on a sat night. I was surprised to find everything I needed to include grass fed beef! Bonus! They had a huge beer selection, so I just needed a few types of peppers for my impromptu chili and beer night and I would be mission complete. The cashier was friendly and helpful, hooked me up with a Safeway card discount even though I didn't have one which saved me a few extra dollars. Stopped in and bought 2 lbs fried chicken tenders from the hot food deli and some stuff for a salad. When I arrived home the chicken was very dry and likely held long past it's life in the warmer. I went online and gave corporate all of my info. They sent an email stating that someone would follow up. Apparently customers aren't really that important to them as they never responded I do not recommend this location to anyone. Especially the prepared food. Good thing Raleys is just another exit down the freeway A bit more money. But you get what you pay for. read more

Still the same disrespectful worker name "Matthew" who wears glasses disrespected my son and was messing with the self checkout machine cause he was in charge. I recommend him taking classes on social skills and being a responsible worker. He completely has no social skills and it seems he tries too hard to impress his co workers then care about the customer. This isn't the first incident it's more like the 40th time and he still hasn't progress at all and makes everybody feel uncomfortable. I was getting ringed up by this nice cashier name marissa, bless her heart and I see "Matthew" come over and give me and my son the look and the customer behind me we're also uncomfortable. If this goes on I might just go to a different Safeway and take my business somewhere else. I recommend you fix yourself young man or find another work place where you don't have to interact with customer because if you were in my financial firm, you would be fired in a blink of an eye. read more
