Visiting Prescott to get away from summer heat in Phoenix. Staying at a local Airbnb, we stopped by Safeway a few times to get groceries. Staff was very friendly and pointed out where to find items. Store is clean recently updated. The Prescott Safeway print ad sale prices were 50¢ to $1 more than the ad sale prices in the Phoenix area. So, if you shop the sales like I do, buy groceries in Phoenix before heading up to Prescott. However, plan to fill your gas tank in Prescott to save 40¢ a gallon on average from Phoenix prices. read more

This is the worst Safeway ever. Every time I place a pick up order there are always items unavailable. On August 31st I placed an order, picked up and once I got home realized I didn't get any of my frozen items. I immediately requested a refund through the app. It is now September 7th and still says my refund is under review. Even after Chris, the order pick up guy texted me the next day saying he found my missing items in the freezer. Totally incompetent for just a simple order. We ordered a Pre-cooked prime rib dinner with all the sides, two weeks in advance, since our kids were coming to visit for Christmas from California for the 1st time. (Haven't seen them in years) Spoke with the deli manager, Becky. Went in to pick it up and she said "sorry, we already sold it" I was absolutely irate which of course did no good since it was gone and of course they had no more. Damnit She then offered me a turkey which I had no choice and walked around the shelves in front of the deli and grabbed a bunch of sides and tossed them in my cart. Prescott Willow Creek is very clean and have friendly employee's and I like their produce better than Fry's however, prices are outrageous! The most expensive store in Prescott beside's Sprouts. I try to use digital coupons but it is difficult to use and it doesn't work half the time. I have been told, "oh that digital coupon doesn't apply to this store". if you're going to have digital coupons they should be good for ALL Safeway's. The coupons are suppose to automatically be taken off when you use your Safeway card but I have found looking over my receipt that it doesn't all the time. I was also price gouged during Covid and forced to pay $40 for a package of toilet paper. You guys need to do something about your high prices. Not a happy customer! read more

I have to concur with all the one-star ratings for Safeway at White Spar in Prescott, Arizona. Earlier this year in 2023 a manager named Johnny was the best employee at this store...always friendly and happy to assist customers...he must have been transferred and we're stuck some fat, angry, rude older women (i'm older too but have a positive attitude) who are always chatting with one another ignoring customers and when someone finally gets their attention for assistance they're are rude, so this store needs a major shakeup in how to treat customers in the self-checkout, If they hate their jobs that much, quit! There are two younger women in their teens or early 20's who are very efficient and very nice. read more

I dropped by for a few items, i seemed perplexed about something and the employee by the name of Devon was nearby. he went out of his way to ask how he can help my dilemma, and throughout my visit he was graciously helpful. he is a young good looking dude, and to see this in the young generation, to reach out and be of some help. i was looking up a digital coupon, glitched up coupon on there end, already flustered and spending ridiculous amount of time for the savings, he saw i was perplexed. thanks Devon! you just saved Safeways Customer service and a likely customer to come back. read more

Tried this location twice for car side pick up and I live an hour away. They tripled my turkey order so two were the sale price of $7 and change, while the third one I did not order was $19. Ordered 7lbs of steaks on sale for $2.97 a lb and employee gave me three packs totaling 7 lbs so for two packs I was charges $6'ish and the third I was charged $42...yes a $30 difference. My 49 cent buns rang up at $2.49 and my key limes at 20 for $1 were $2.60. Charged way over $40.00 from my original order sent in online. Called four different numbers before a gentleman with an accent who tried to help me for half an hour and the next day I was only refunded $24.00. I stop at Safeway often since It's closest to we're we live. I love Safeways meats & produce however they are out of product more than anything The store seems pretty clean until you go into the bathroom also I don't understand why more registers aren't open causing long lines! Tracy (the store director) is extremely rude! I made a cute don't know why I continue to shop here when they are constantly out of stuff and she made a really rude comment back telling me there are other place I can go! What?? There's a checker named Kay that helps with the self service checkout, she was knowledgeable and most helpful on showing me how to get my "just 4 U" Safeway app working correctly on my iPhone that shows the digital savings on the register as advertised while shopping. With 3 items alone I saved 14.00. Her patience and helpful attitude was very much appreciated, especially during the busiest holiday season of the year. I have always favored this particular Safeway. It's close to home The manager has always been helpful, produce workers are keeping things fresh, Deli n bakery is great, no long waits, Good folks that shop and work there. In a world where it's difficult to find helpful folks, Kay has restored my faith in just how great one person can be. I'm not a regular to this Safeway, as I'm from Tucson. I was in self check out and realized I was not getting my discount for some items. Kay showed me how to navigate the app to quickly change my in store shopping location and easily find the discounted items I was purchasing. Kay was patient and kind. Worse service ever received! Make Flu shot appointment for my wife and I 5 days in advance at the Spar Rd location in Prescott and was called 25 minutes prior to arrival and told no more vaccines. I'm in a line to check out. As you can see I'm far from the cash registers (btw) the customers in line with me are laughing at the ludicrous steps Safeway is dealing with the virus. I appreciate Safeway's concern for their customers, but becoming a soviet style grocery store just is a huge disappointment to me. Arrows all over the store of one ways aisles of "how to dictate our movements" just breaks my heart that my neighborhood grocery store has become so socialist. We always stop by this Safeway to stock up on groceries on our way to our cabin and it's always a pleasant experience. It is smaller than the one on Willow Creek but no complaints. I went shopping at this Safeway since I was worried Walmart would be packed. My bill was DOUBLE the normal of Walmart so I nicely returned 6 times that were 7.99 a piece because my bill was so high. The customer service lady freaked out that I'd return things, would t handle my CC in the off chance I've corona virus and then threw a fit telling me they would have no shipments for two weeks and I was making a poor decision in returning anything. Sushi is disgusting, smells like the sea. Anyone who knows how sushi is supposed to taste and smell, it doesn't smell like it came right from the ocean. I ordered sushi from DoorDash and it straight up smelt like it was from the ocean. I like seafood, but seafood when it's cooked and properly handled, it shouldn't smell like that. What a blessing to have a grocery store on the south edge of town! I am so grateful to NOT have to cross the courthouse area or do the Park/Grove zig zag through a school zone just to pick up groceries for dinner. I wanted to give a shoutout to Marge in the Bakery. I needed a cake for a wedding that was only 5 weeks out and she came highly recommended by a couple of people. I needed a 3 tier cake so I showed her a picture of what the couple wanted and she nailed it! The price was so affordable and the raspberry/lemon filling didn't create a problem for her. Going to this location on 12 years, it's an older storE but have appreciated its location and being a smaller store have grown accustomed to its employees. It was my birthday and I received two dozen different colored roses and a German chocolate cake. One dozen pinK roses had to be returned (they NEVER should have been sold) once the ccelophane was unwrapped the roses feel apart, you could see brown decay at base of rose . When I returned them the customer service rep said there was Nothing she could do without a receipt . They were over 9.99 and no receipt . I asked her to look up my daughters account to confirm purchaSe she said No she couldn't , nothing without a receipt . There was a sticker on the roses identifying theM as Safeway's . I asked if I could switcH them out , again NO. I think I'd like to speak to the manager of the store really, considering I'm a long time local customerr the Rep had NO CUSTOMER service and didn't want to break a sweat to confirm the purchase. Arrived here to pick up a o.t.c for my two years old. Working in Pharmacy myself I had a idea of what to do but wanted a professional opinion so I told the PharmacistbCody there what was happening and he helped me pick up what I needed. I tend to forget how if feels to be on the other side as a patient and the Pharmacist reminded me how great customer service should be given and he was very knowledgeable. I shop this Safeway often, and am disappointed with the lack of cleanliness in the women's bathroom. I actually said something to customer service a couple of weeks ago, and I see no improvement. It honestly reminds me of an below average bathroom in a gas station. It's in dire need of a super scrub down (power wash) of the floor, walls, and bathroom door (inside). It just looks like dirt/grime that's been there forever. The "cleaner sign in sheet" on the door wasn't even updated. It's more than just picking up paper towels off the floor. Then I came home with an outdated tube of biscuits-turnoff to say the least. Granted, it's an older store than most Safeways, but no excuse for dirt. read more

Compared to Walmart and Fry's, this Safeway is poorly managed. I frequently get overcharged on sale items by careless cashiers or inaccurate store pricing. Then I have to go back through my bags and receipt to convince them of their error. This never happens at Fry's or Walmart. Their employees can be rude too. On one trip, I asked a young female employee about an item that she was stocking on the grocery shelf, and she ignored me. She was too busy listening to her ear buds to pay attention. Even Walmart employees are more respectful than that. read more

Only go here because it is close and only to make a few purchases. The express lane is rarely open and never enough checkers. Shop here if you don't mind spending the day standing in line. Worth the extra drive to go to Frys which also has much better prices and fast checkouts read more
