I've been coming here for almost a year. And am on the verge of switching out. Everytime there is always an issue with a prescription. Never in my life have I experienced this. They will literally make you go without your medication because the pharmacist thinks their the Dr and knows best , when all their doing is counting my prescription and putting it in the bottle! I've had to go without my medication which like the review below said, they are going to kill someone and it could have if I didn't gotten hospital. Another time I threatened to go to the board because she said it wasn't "time yet to get it,,even tho I was going out of town and my dr confirmed it. I' work out of town alot, and they have even asked me "where are you going?" Which I feel like isn't anyone's business where I'm going out of town. It's my confidentiality last week I called before I was out to prevent me going without and there was an issue . They "never for my prescription" and then again today, they said October 10 for fill. I'm like what do u mean? That means I'd be going without my meds for 10 days! And they looked into it and had to fix it so I pick up today. I've been discriminated on because "I should have still had some and she was concerned" when I need my script a day early to leave town. Which I would have gotten a monthly supply but they only had enough for 2 weeks so I had to get the remaining when they let me. read more

On Monday, I underwent spinal fusion surgery. By Tuesday, post-op pain spiked, so my surgeon ordered stronger pain meds. Safeway refused to fill the stronger prescription unless I returned the narcotics they'd dispensed earlier, despite me explaining I was barely mobile post-op. Clerk (tech?) Lisa claimed it was a California Board of Pharmacy requirement, then backtracked, saying my surgeon's office required it. She was wrong on both counts. The Board has no such requirement, and my surgeon later confirmed he made no such demand. Lisa's attitude was next-level: she told me it was for my own good and wanted to know if I had Narcan on hand. I asked that they go ahead and fill the Rx and my husband would return the other prescription. She said they would not fill it until the other prescription was returned, meaning my husband had to sit around and wait. l asked Lisa to have the District Manager (Jig Patel) call me (twice) during the conversation. Lisa was quick to assure me the District Manager would, "back us 100%." Perhaps she knows this from experience. It has been nine days. No call. I've filed a complaint with the CA Board of Pharmacy and (shortly) with the DEA. Not only did Safeway break both state and federal law with respect to dispensing medication, they usurped my physicians' medical decision-making and interfered in patient care. I wonder how many other patients have had their postoperative care compromised by a pharmacy clerk. Scary thought. I also wonder how many narcotics they collect this way, and what they do with them. I'm sure there California Board of Pharmacy and the DEA will find out. read more

We had a problem with forgetting our insulin on vacation .. on a Saturday.. the pharmacist and the technicians went above and beyond with multiple phone calls trying to get the "vacation emergency refill", even calling another location for the meds. It was not quick, but we resolved the problem .. they were very understanding! Giavanni was Amazing!!! read more

i am very disappointed with the process. to access my own vaccination records. You may not be aware but if you are trying to do this on your mobile phone, each time there is an error, or another field required, you need to back completely out and retry again......hence all the login requests. i had to request 2 codes to access it and neither worked. what is it you expect us to do to get access to our own records. now i see it's locked for 24 hours so i sit and wait. read more

If I could give you guys zero stars I would. Most unprofessional staff and pharmacists I've ever met. Always have an attitude, nothing is ever ready when they say. There out of everything and over all there customer service is absolutely the worst. Won't be back I've given you guys a full two years because I live down the street but I'd much rather travel 15 miles to a much better pharmacy that ACTUALLY CARES not to mention as I'm sitting in the waiting room I can hear all three girls talking trash about the customers and me saying we should go somewhere else. Unfortunately customer service is terrible. The pharmacy technician said meds were ready to pick Up for my wife which they were not. I waited 25min for pharmacists to fill. Called few days later and tech told me to call back 4 hours later to see if mine were done. The tech could of made effort to reach me Instead I had to call back again & told her to please check for my urgent meds. She was rude on phone & then went to check and said tomorrow they would be in. Safeway Pharmacy needs to hire better staff or patients will go elsewhere. Absolutely 0 customer service! Constantly running out of medication and not filling prescriptions on time. They could care less what your doctor prescribes to you and will fill what they want and when they want. It's really a shame, I've been using them for almost a year and they started out amazing and have declined to the point I will now have to take my business elsewhere because they can't do their job! If you work there and read this, your job is to follow doctors orders! You're getting paid a lot of money from my insurance and I expect quality, professionalism and my prescriptions to be filled and on time! Their pharmacist and people working in the pharmacy are friendly and helpful, but many of the checkers are indifferent and not friendly. I worked for Safeway for 12 years as a checker and we were checked daily on our knowledge of inventory, how fast we checked and how helpful and friendly we were! We had spotters come through to make sure we complied! Otherwise we got written up! Friendly customer service is a must! That doesn't mean just going around the store saying hello to everyone either! read more

UPDATE: I just posted the following review, and Safeway instantly posted an old, inapplicable "response" with a 2022 date on it!! What a cynical, indifferent tactic for a pharmacy. Will they take the fake response down now?Here's the review I had just posted: Had an appt for Covid booster at this pharmacy, solely because it was nearby and I got prior shots there. Man at counter seemed to be new. He got a co-worker to assist. She asked for my medical card and I gave her my Medi-Cal card. She asked for my "pharmacy card" for "Part D." Covid shots have been covered under Part B as preventative care, not Part D. She then saw the other medical card I have and said Safeway doesn't take that. They not only "took it" the last 2 or 3 times, but it is still for MEDI-CAL coverage and the other company just administers it. I'm already in this pharmacy's records. I asked if anything changed as to covering the shot since the last times I was there. She said, "Yes." Nothing else, no explanation, no suggestions, nothing. I said I could just pay for the shot. She said, "No." Since when does a pharmacy not take a credit card or money?A second woman also nearby at the counter is the one I believe gives the shots. She watched, said nothing. I picked them up this morning and all they did was take old ones they didn't sell opened them, scraped the old frosting off and put new frosting in the color I ordered on them. When we moved to Roseville, I transferred all our pharmacy prescriptions to the Safeway on Pleasant Grove Boulevard. Will and the pharmacists are all so friendly and helpful. Most recently, I left an important eye drop in the car overnight accidently and with the searing temperatures and I had to ask the pharmacist (Marie & Will) to contact the on call eye doctor at UC Davis call in another prescription because the heat made the one I left in the car unusable. They contacted the on-call doctor and had the new prescription ready within hours and applied a discount so I did not have to pay full price! read more

The Safeway Pharmacy #1890 is located inside of the Safeway Store on the corner of Roseville Parkway & Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville CA 95678. The pharmacy staff is super friendly and helpful. Mary and Marlee are both pharmacists who always make my visits enjoyable when picking up my medications. They are both very knowledgable and their customer service skills are definitely a 10+. I had to get a early refill on my medication that was approved by my doctor and insurance but the manager there was HORRID. She yelled, accused me of insurance fraud.. For mood stabilizers.. Cause they're "expensive" she wouldn't allow me to pick up my prescription. Less than an hour later she had her associate call to say I could pick them up, but when I asked if she would be there.. Seeing as I don't wanna be accused twice.. She told me I had to transfer it out and couldn't have my medication. Never again. read more

I called a few days ago to see if they could refill my prescription for my thyroid. I go back-and-forth between having it refilled here and Kaiser. They told me I did not have any more refills but I did but only Kaiser could give them to me. She was very short with me on the phone and as we both almost hung up I decided to ask if there was any way I can get my prescriptions transferred there. She said yes and had them transferred. But what was upsetting was she was going to let me hang up without even offering this option. So I got a call a couple days ago from Kaiser saying the medication had been sent over. I went to go pick it up today and they didn't have it ready. Which they said they keep prescriptions up to 10 days and it had not been 10 days from the time I was originally supposed to pick it up. Usually this is not a big deal because it only takes about 15 minutes to fill but the pharmacist was out at lunch so they told me it would be 30 minutes. At this time my kids are at babysitters house and have practice soon. I decided to hang out and get some grocery shopping done. I go back in 30 minutes to get my prescription and was told that it would be another 20 minutes because he just got back. This is very upsetting because he was back there filling prescriptions and it was hurtful that I was already quoted 30 minutes and I am in a hurry and have things to get done and they were not willing to make an exception and fill mine 1st. I now have not been able to take my meds in 4 days. I live on the other side of town and was in the area. I understand it only takes me about 15 minutes to get to this pharmacy from my home but its very inconvenient for me that they not only did not have my prescription but then quoted me incorrectly and were not willing to make it right. This was the 1st time I have even had a free minute to go grab my prescription. I was so upset it took everything I had to not cry as I was walking out the door. read more

I have been going to this Safeway for awhile and each time the customer service gets worse. They have long lines with only a couple of checkers at a time. There is no since of rush to get the line down with the only couple of checkers that they have. read more
