Don't come here for a flu shot or any sort of vaccination. It's been 45 min past my appointment time and I'm still waiting to be seen.

This location is a Superstore which means it is MASSIVE. Every department, every section within a…read moredepartment, is huge and contains a large and varied selection. For example, the health and beauty section could be it's own store! This could never be my regular Fred Meyers for this very reason. I want to get in and out quickly which is why I prefer the smaller Fred Meyer stores which have everything I need. Stopped here multiple times when in the area and every time, I have the same reaction! Yesterday I needed something in Garden, some half & half for coffee, and needed to use the restroom. That required me to walk almost the entire store! Not sure how people who have mobility issues or even are just not in the best shape could manage. All that being said, there is a great selection, produce is high quality as is the cheese, meat and fish. The staff is friendly and there is a Fred Meyer Gas Station right in the parking lot. The large turquoise planter I wanted to purchase did not ring up on sale even though there was a sign showing a discount, and the other planters rang up with the discount. Without hesitation, the manager, Diane, authorized a manual discount. This is why I shop at Freddie's!

It took awhile just to get someone to 'unlock' one of the carts by an employee authorized to do so. Then they had to unlock it multiple times so that I could get through two different sets of doors making an elaborate scene I definitely didn't appreciate. Rolling through the store felt ridiculous, since they have a random giant robot thing for self checkout. The only job it seemed to be doing was blocking the entire aisle in an already extremely busy spot... all the other aisles were already junked up enough with random displays. And then check out came. The motorized cart let me halfway through exiting before stopping so I got to sit there blocking one of the entrances completely mortified while one employee who just happened by because he was collecting carts had to go get an authorized employee to unlock the cart. The final crux to that was him asking if there was anything else he could do while walking away behind me... classy.... did I also, did l mention I have to park in a regular space versus ADA because the ADA spaces are not near the actual entrances... but at least I was able to get a regular space near the door so that I could drive away fast from this.

Lifesavers. My…read morehusband just had an appendectomy. We usually use CVS, because of our insurance. I had a prescription from the hospital for his painkillers and I had dropped it off at CVS in the evening and was told I could pick it up in the morning. I went in at noon and they told me they could not fill it because the DEA number was for the hospital, not the prescriber. This review is about Rite Aid, so I am not going to go into all the ways CVS let me down. But, I was about in tears when I got the script back around 4:30 pm. I drove over the Rite Aid because it was the closest 24 hour pharmacy and I explained it all of the lady at the counter. I had expected to need to have the hospital call them, to work something out, like I had tried with CVS, only with no closing looming over me. Nope, she told me they could use the DEA from the hospital, no problem. An hour and a half later, I had the prescription and was driving home. I had spent 5 hours trying to get it fixed at CVS, to no avail. Rite Aid was able to help me without any drama. I had been terrified I would have to go home without it, my husband would run out in the night, and  we would be in a literally painful situation. Instead, they swooped in and rescued me. I don't care if it took and hour and a half - I got dinner and took a walk. I care that I got what I needed, in time to prevent serious issues following surgery. Some years ago, we had always used Walgreens and then, due again to a change of insurance, we had switched to Rite Aid. I had figured one pharmacy was like another. At that time, I realized they were not. They filled faster and gave me better service. Returning in this situation reminded me of how satisfactory I have always found them to be. So, do I recommend Rite Aid? Absolutely.

My regular pharmacy (Freddy's) told me they were out of my insulin and I would have to wait until tomorrow, but I was totally out, and as you can probably guess, this isn't a medication I can just skip for a day or any length of time. I went to Providence Urgent Care at Tanasbourne, but they were closed. As a last ditch effort before having to go wait all night at the ER, I crossed my fingers and walked in here instead. Since I had used them before, I was at least in their system. The pharmacist listened and was patient with me (I couldn't remember my doctor's name since I just switched and haven't seen her yet) but she tried to locate it in the system. Finally I remembered and told her, and she placed a call to the after hours number and had the on call call her back. I waited an hour, and despite them not even being my pharmacy any longer, they gave me a single pen to last me until I could get a proper refill. Saved me from a night of pain and possible need to call an ambulance.

It must because the population is aging or something but it seems like there is a drug store on…read moreevery corner these days. Used to be there was only one for an entire neighborhood, if that. This one is pretty much the same as every other cookie cutter rite-aid, Walgreens, what have you. Nothing you can't find for less money at a Walmart. This place happens to be handy for me although I don't use the pharmacy since I am a VA client. But if you're looking for the sort of stuff you'd find at a Rite-aid and don't feel like saving money at Wallyworld you'll likely find it here. Or just up the street at Walgreens, CVS, Pharmaca, Freddys, Safeway, Albertsons... you get the idea. I'm not big in supporting these impersonal franchise outfits since I strongly prefer to support local mom and pop businesses that contribute to the community and local economy. But it is what it is these days. The small business owner has been pushed out. The review is five stars because there's nothing much to complain about here. It's not the franchise owner's fault that Rite-aid corporate shoved out the small local drug store that used to be here.... long, long ago since there was no local drug store in Cedar Mill for as far back as I can remember. I guess maybe when Bales had a small pharmacy? UPDATE: The bot response from Rite-aid posted below is a glowing example of what I am talking about. Impersonal, Corporate cookie cutter, one size fits all, gratuitous "apologies" by some drone who clearly could care less how I (or you) feel about anything. It's interesting that this dunce, who clearly never took the time to actually read my review, would post and tell even more accurately than I just did why these Corporate outfits that are pushing out local mom and Pop businesses are so fundamentally evil. Gee, we're soooo sorry you had a [select one] problem, bad experience, mishap, heart attack, none_of_the_above at our store. We are soooooo sorry. Please contact us on twitter (yeah, right) and we will promptly ignore everything you say and will spam you into the second coming once we get your contact information. Have a nice day! Thanks "Pam" in India or where ever your offshore boiler room is. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Planet Fitness is obviously closed so I was walking down from the West Hills, and before I knew it I was coming up to Valaria View Rd. It was at this point that I realized that I needed a men's room. I decided to continue across Barnes Rd and ask if I could use the bathroom @ Rite Aid. I did use to work there so I had a feeling they would allow it. The shopping center seemed to still be under "pretty heavy" construction. Lots of the facades still had the generic white signs on them and there were large gate blockades blocking [sic] the walkway. I walked down to Rite Aid but there was a (solid) metal gate that was down. I am guessing this is because there had been multiple break-ins. I was expecting the store to be open because the CVS that I work at is open. I am hoping that this location hasn't been closed....
