Overflowing garbage can
Cesar G.

This Safeway is very poor managed, there is also very questionable people hanging out outside! Always looks dirty. Garbage overflowing.

We were on a road trip and needed some snacks, so we stopped here.  We got some fruit, a salad, and asparagus pasta salad.  This store had so many different salads.  They all looked delicious.  My asparagus pasta salad was really good.  They had quite a selection of pre-packaged foods.  It's a great store!

8/17/24 It's a convenient supermarket in Napa that's open 24 HOURS. I was looking for a Vons or a Ralphs but this store happened to be the closest. Needed some snacks. The aisles are labeled suitably and everything is where one would expect it to be. That's a huge plus. Mostly they are well stocked. I only visited the cheese area, ice cream, snacks ( cookies & chips, then the fresh produce. Prices are medium to medium high range. For instance, white peaches sell for $3.99/lb. Mangoes (large) were on sale for 10/$10. The ones from Super King were much larger that were 0.79 each. Couldn't resist so I got Chili Cheese Fritos and to balance it out, got fuji spples andcsome mangoes. I was tempted to get Haagen Dazs but thought otherwise. Why the 3 stars? Customer service was less than stellar. I was at the check stand when they changed cashiers, no greeting, she was muttering to herself. When I asked if she can enter the number of my membership card she said she's not allowed to do it. Then later on realized I was not asking to enter my payment card. In shirt she was not paying attention. After zi paid, she just quickly left, Like, wham, bam no thank you ma'am. Not the friendliest or attentive staff. Bad impression of a nice looking supermarket.

How2Recycle Program can be found when you enter the entrance from the right. It will be immediately on the left-hand side of the door.

So glad to discover that Safeway offers the How2Recycle program. WHERE? If you are facing Safeway, go into the door on the right. It will be directly on the left-hand side of the door, as you enter. Items listed on the How2Recycle website: Grocery & produce bags, plastic stretch wraps, bread bags, newspaper bags plastic mailers with compatible label (like Amazon's blue & white packaging). Wraps around paper products like paper towels, toilet paper, diapers and cereal bags. It is not my regular place to purchase items, but knowing they support this program encourages me to use them more often.

Bought the ready made fruit container for $5 from the Deli location. As we left and I opened it, I ate few pcs of raspberries and shocked of what I saw I almost puked. MOLD! This isnt the first time their ready food has problem. Few months ago, the sandwich we ordered has hard plastic on it.. Just have to be careful and cleaner

Ive tried giving this place chances. Every time i come here i NEVER get acknowledged. No hello. Nothing. No one willing to help. You're completely on your own. And if you interact the EMPLOYEES are downright RUDE. And bothered you interupted them. Male cashier with glasses today on one of 2 registers open was a total mess and not pleasant. I grabbed what i needed and the environment was downright unpleasant. I couldnt wait to leave. Some lady and her daughter "forgot" toilet paper which looked like for a doordash red card order and had a bagger girl go grab it. We were all stuck waiting there awkward silence no apologies or well be right with you nothing. The cashier got on his earpiece radio and waw talking to someone. I gave up and went to the self checkout. The older gal employee working the area was a real hot mess. All the self checkout stations were flithy. Almost out of bags. While she was shooting the breeze with another safeway employee and the starbucks person. Being really loud and annoying about her personal business on tiktok. And how her coworker doesnt have one HE SHOULD watch HERRR TIK TOK. Then she coughed sneezed hard twice into her armpit no mask on. GROSSSSSS. I hope management watches the cameras. Was exactly 3/11/22 at 18:52 hours 2449 54 232 8854 - 3375 jefferson square napa, ca $55.57 self checkout. Used a $25 safeway giftcard i won at work and visa. Attached 2 pics of receipt. Another thing someone is either using my fuel rewards at pump guessing my phone number or im not getting rewards. Employees last visit didnt really care. There was one nice female deli employee at the st helena safeway, also a few at sonoma CA safeway on 5th that cared but napa, ca on jefferson is HORRIBLE. I hope management reads this and takes a look at the people representing their store ITS TERRIBLE.

Really like the store, wish the vegetable section wasn't so cold! a person could freeze in there. The baggers could be a better also.

Too bad we have a full schedule and planned a great lunch and dinner (well dinner was just okay...). FYI, you have to go to the seafood department to order your oysters. And on Fridays, it can be a long wait, so plan accordingly. Still good service. Service at the seafood department seemed VERY good; well we are in Napa. Decent local selection of beers. Decent selection of wines (unlike Trader Joes next door). Again, we are in Napa! Atmosphere - Nice, decent size location; see pictures. Plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm. Service - Always good, no matter how busy or not they are. Thank you. Price - Above average, they do not have the nickname "Whole Paycheck" for no reason, lol. They have NO options for flavors of turkey, just the one that is like roast chicken, and only dutch crunch or Hoagie for rolls according to the employee who took my order which seems wierd. They have a whole bakery but only 2 types of rolls at the deli? I never caught the name of the employee who took my phone order, pretty sure it was a guy. The first time I called, the deli picked up the phone and left it on the counter without greeting me at all. I heard someone laughing and talking to a Danielle, then they hung up on me without saying a word. I had to call back and tell the customer service person(Elle?), who then went and told them to pick up before transferring a second time. When I arrived for pick up, I waited a minute in line before asking a passing employee behind the counter if they had my order ready. He asked the guy and gal standing around laughing behind the pizza bar if they knew about a phone order. They did not. He asked me who took the order but did not ask my name or check the fridge where they typically put sandwiches made ahead of time, just went to get a supervisor when I did not know who took my order. As the supervisor comes out and again asks me who took my order(shouldn't the employee who grabbed you have told you I already said I did not know?) One of the young ladies actively making sandwiches went into the fridge, pulled out my sandwich which had my name on it, and gave it to me. I paid and left because I was in a rush and now wasted several minutes for no reason. When I finally open the sandwich it is missing multiple ingredients I asked for and the tomato slices are SO thin you could literally see through them. The joker that sliced them on the machine literally set it for less than a 1/4inch thickness which is painfully stingy. The sandwich was not worth the 12bucks they charged and the service was downright clownish with it's disorganization. If you want a sandwich, GO ANYWHERE ELSE. If you want a great one, go to brown's valley market on the opposite side of town by first st, at least they have multiple choices for meat, bread, and veggies. Store was clean but there were too many employees visibly goofing off on the floor and not communicating with each other about work.

Good thing Sonoma Market is known for their sandwiches and deli and fresh prepared meals. You'll find a really fun selection of local cheeses, condiments, produce, and baked goods that bigger grocery stores don't carry. You'll spend a little more, but the shopping experience is more curated and atmospheric, and the products speak for themselves. I stopped in recently while on a short trip to Sonoma, specifically for salsa, some kind of dip or spread for crackers, and a cheese or two. I spent awhile browsing because that's the best part, and left with exactly what I needed (proud and amazed I stuck to my budget haha). I bought a fantastic bleu cheese, brie, a cantina style salsa, and this whipped, layered, tomato-basil dip made of ground almonds, avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, and herbs. Kind of a lot going on, but it was so good. It's always fun to see what you'll find here. Like a locally made gluten free apple pie, the perfect bouquet of flowers, or a freshly baked loaf of sourdough.

If you come in here at five 5 o'clock or after, it's always a disgusting display. Very sad to see.

Review: The "Unexpected" Mystery of Trader Joe's Broccoli Cheddar Soup…read more I walked into Trader Joe's expecting a warm hug in a bowl. What I got was a cold-blooded betrayal in a plastic tub. Let's talk about the "Unexpected" part of the name. I assumed it referred to an extra sharp kick or perhaps a delightful hint of Parmesan. Instead, the "unexpected" twist was the complete and total absence of the color yellow. This soup is white. Not "off-white" or "cream," but "Victorian ghost" white. It looks less like a hearty bistro meal and more like a bowl of Elmer's glue that someone accidentally dropped a single, lonely floret of broccoli into. As for the flavor? If you're looking for cheddar, keep looking. I've had more "cheddar flavor" from breathing near a closed box of Cheez-Its. It's as if the soup was made in a room where someone once whispered the word "cheese" three years ago. It's impressively bland, a feat of culinary engineering that manages to taste like warm, thickened nothingness. I'm not saying it's the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth, but if I wanted a bowl of hot, broccoli-scented library paste, I would have made it myself for half the price. Rating: 1/5 Stars. The only thing "unexpected" was how much I regretted my life choices while eating it. Trader Joe's, I still love you 5/5 stars

This store is everything that target is not as far as the grocery side of the business goes. If you're looking for general merchandise, clothing, TVs, electronics, etc., then go there. Here you can get sushi, hot Chinese food, fresh prepared deli meals, even fresh made sandwiches. There's also a large freshly stocked produce department, including a floral department. And unlike Target, they've made a considerable investment in their beer, wine, and liquor selection. They even offer a 30% off discount on wine if you buy six bottles, which I've never seen. It's obviously a focus item for them because it is stacked throughout the store. The only problem is that their prices are so high that it forces you into a six pack. You'll find all the items you would expect to find in your usual large grocer, including pharmaceuticals, but no pharmacy. Here you can also buy rotisserie chickens and tri-tip ($10-$20). You can also find bagged ice and propane tanks to rent. I'm a little disappointed by many of these one star slappers because they're being shortsighted on a personal small thing or detail while overlooking the larger picture. Whatever small things this store gets wrong are easily outweighed by what it gets right. The photos included should convince you of that.
