Wash your produce people. A Safeway employee was putting her handheld devices on all kinds of fruits and vegetables. When I informed the store employees they looked at me like I was weird for thinking this was not sanitary.

Home delivery service is terrible! There are often missed items & I have NEVER receive an order on time for same day delivery. Today I had an order due between 3-4p. Not delivered. I've contacted customer service several times & was told the store would contact me. Hasn't happened. I've talked to managers there in the past but nothing changes. And they won't let me change to a different store for delivery. Lousy service!

This Safeway is much better than the one closer to where I live. The isles are always well stocked and clean. You can tell the employees care about their place of work. They have an abundance of fresh produce and some nice choices in the meat department. The employees are very helpful and business oriented unlike other stores.

a birthday cake in a box

Ordered a tres leches cake a day in advance for my brother-in-law's birthday and the whole process was awful. When we went to pick up the cake, the lady at the bakery said "give me 20 mins to finish the cake". She went to the back and slapped on some frosting and hideous decorations and handed the cake to us for free. I've never seen an uglier cake in my life. Plastic balloons, random snowflakes, ugly dome shaped cake? I thought this has to be a gag, the lady can't be serious. But she was. This cake was for our 36 year old brother-in-law and it looked like a clown cake. This cake was not only so ugly, but also tasted disgusting. Nothing about it was tres leches. The cake was crumbling and flavorless and the frosting was so nasty. My sister-in-law accepted the free cake, assuming it might taste better than it looks, but we were wrong! We won't be ordering cakes from this Safeway ever again.

I walked up and the door was locked. When they didn't open automatically I waved. Someone in the lot yelled they are closed and use the other side. Huge inconvenience.

I feel like this Safeway tends to be dirty, low stock or have their expired food on display still. Not to mention this last week when I went they had the raw chicken and veggies in the same fridge? I guess salmonella isn't taken seriously.

Osaka Marketplace, Fremont…read more Service is always great and they have a great selection of pre-made meals! They have a small food court located on the side of the supermarket, very convenient to sit down and eat. I usually come here for their fresh rolls, Japanese bento plates and onigiris. Although still fresh, their deals for their 20% off are always a steal. I thought it was a weekday deal but found out it's daily and around 5pm. I ended up getting their Mr. Crazy Roll which consist of sashimi salmon and uni over California rolls. It was delicious! I always love coming here for their beauty products and anything cute like Hello Kitty or random lunch bags. A friend had asked me if they accepted EBT and currently no, they don't accept EBT as payment. Would return and highly recommend this place!

And even quicker when it's around their discounted sticker pricing time (4:30-5:30pm). I haven't gone here in a long time, but came to pick up some specialty goods I couldn't find closer to home. My boyfriend always likes the trays of sashimi they have and likes to get those to make lunch or dinner with! Store is pretty spacious and has a great selection of fish, meats, baked foods, vegetables, and fruits (even from Japan)! I'm more interested in the Japanese snack aisle, heh. It is pricey though, so don't expect to get too many snacks unless you're bankrolled. I came for a huge bag of takowaso (my fav)! and some freshly minced but frozen wasabi.

Local grocery store with decent stock often discounted for members and serviced by seasoned and…read morefriendly staff. Raley's, a shrinking brand here in this part of the bay, still holds a large footprint in downtown Fremont. Benefiting from the big parking lot shared by many eateries, cafes, and specialty stores and entertainment, the grocery chain welcomes many to its storefront and keeps them coming back with their weekly deals. Some of the parking spots are tight but there are spaces all around the shopping center if you're willing to walk. But once you're settled, head on inside and be prepared to shop! Be sure to join their free membership to maximize savings (aside from their weekly deals, they have some specials on Mondays and during holidays). A jarring sight, however, is the security officer standing watch at the front entrance which makes you wonder if their presence is due to a necessity or simply a security protocol for deterring that necessity. From all the visits I've made, the security personnel are just as friendly as the store's staff who are frequently traversing through sections to restock, check inventory, and help customers. As you continue walking in, you'll pass the dining space and prepared food section where you'll find fried foods, stirfrys and soups sitting in warmers. Nearby food stations also host a good collection of more freshly prepared foods and a deli for sandwiches. The prices can be decent with their added discounts at times, but I've yet to be hungry enough to try. The biggest impression for me at this store is their dedicated produce section. Organics as well as fruits and vegetables of the season are in full display, vibrant in color and heaped in abundance. Some of their more perishable produce may be found in the chilled cases on the side. In addition, I'm a big fan of their seafood and meats section as the staff behind the counter are friendly and helpful. The selection can be minimal during peak times but the quality seems to be pretty good for the value. Their bread, cereal, and coffee sections are also well stocked and we've also been able to find some solid pumpernickel bread as well as Dutch crunch French bread. After perusing the store and piling your cart, you'll head to the registers, however in all my visits so far, we have been able to use the self checkout which, for the most part, has been a good experience. The staff float around and are helpful in the event that an item needs to be cancelled or a SKU needs to be looked up. A few areas of improvement would include their water fountains by the bathrooms which haven't worked in our visits and general bathroom upkeep. Overall, Raley's does a great job welcoming folks near and far to their well stocked store, serving fresh and on-sale items. The store is organized and frequently refreshed with new stock by their band of employees roaming the aisles with smiles. You'll also find that patrons here are quite friendly - almost a neighborly feel to it. If you're in the area and need a quick bite or a pantry run, Raley's has what you need and for a good price, too!

I also saw that they have a self-serving bar of foods like fried chicken and potato wedges I believe. I'm just here to shop for oatmilk rather than at the grocery store I usually go to. Really tired of routinely going to the same one near my home and so I decided to go a bit far and experience a bit. Maybe in the future, I'll go to different grocery stores to kinda switch things up.
