1/18/22 Quality/Quantity - Taking a break from our road trip. Wanted to eat at Jack in the Box, but they were closed... Got 3 of each chicken wing flavor from the deli - They were huge, I could not eat more than 5. It was also very messy, so I could not take any pictures of the wings themself, sorry. Starbucks = 5 stars - Free Ice. At times, the Starbucks in supermarkets charged for a cup of ice. Atmosphere - Consistent with the brand. With the exception of the GREAT service from Starbucks. Service - Good, both the deli person and cashier were good. Price - $10.14 for the wings - I thought that was pricey until I saw the size of each wing; worth it! Pre-made Turkey Wrap - Tasted pre-made and old. We should have gotten a fresh sandwich, but we were in a rush. I don't even know how much we paid for it. Owner Suggestion - Thanks for having a Safeway here, during our 7 hour drive from Las Vegas to Reno, we did not see many options for supermarkets. read more

This is a very good store here in town. Fresh groceries, fresh baked products :) wide selection of wine and beer and other services in store such as Starbucks, western union, bill payments and I am sure I am missing a couple more. I also recently ordered a cake for a special occasion at work and the cake was ready on time and it was decorated beautifully!! Thank you to the bakery staff. While the prices may be a little higher than other stores or even superstores like say, Walmart, the selection and quality makes up for it and makes it worth it. Having the store points card comes in helpful as well and helps you save a dollar or two here and there. The store is always well kept and organized and the staff I had interacted is always pleasant and helpful. It is safe to say, I like the way they do business. Ha !! read more

Was at the store today to buy the rib roast for 5.77 lbs and I had 118.00 groceries and a 6pk of whine and a 12pk of beer and checker stated beer and wine does not sound on the 150.00 purchase so I came home and read the add and it doesn't say any thing by excluding alcohol beverages I think it is false advertising.​ read more

I have been waiting for a refund for 75 dollars from a multi billion dollar company for 35 days on an order that was delivered to a different address. I have talked to someone in cooperate office "Oscar" in customer service who stated he could not help I had to talk to the people in the delivery customer service which I explained to him at that time I've talked to now 10 different times and 4 expedited tickets ago. How can a company that makes this much money have customer service this badly? The store manager put my refund in that same day the groceries were delivered to someone else and that was denied by Cooperate, why? Store managers are not given an approval of a refund? Does that even make sense? I will never shop with them again and I live in a town where it's only Safeway or Walmart. This company is buying Smiths & Krogers so be prepared for your customer service to be garbage. read more

Store is always clean and organized. The fruits and vegetables are some of the best in our local town. In person is great service, they actually have checkers to ring you up and handicap lines. Delivery is also great and much appreciated. read more

As a store, you can't beat the selection and prices, especially with the club card. I always save upward of $100 when I shop for sales. However, the workers and extra amenities like the fresh food bar are absolutely abysmal. Every time I order anything from the fresh food bar, it is either undercooked or so dried out from being under heat lamps that you can't even eat it. I spend $10 on a chicken tender combo meal and 2 corn dogs today for dinner. The corn dogs had raw batter in them and the chicken was so hard I almost chipped a tooth biting into it. Also, the cashiers really need to learn how to serve customers. Twice I've been in the past month where they ring up my purchases without speaking once and then stare at me without a word when they are done, as if I should just assume to know the total. The last time was the kicker, though. Earlier this month I had an impressive haul in my cart, including a toddler, a large bag of dog food and three cases of soda. I am 4 MONTHS PREGNANT and yet the 20-something bag boy had ME lift all of the heavy things up to the cashier, because "sorry...I didn't have a scanner gun." Crap on a cracker, people. Have some courtesy or some common sense. I hate Fallon. read more

I believe Safeway is the only dedicated grocery store here in Fallon, other than the commissary and Walmart. It's clean, and it has quality food. And on Fridays, it's $5.00 Friday, where you get discounts. There is a Starbucks here - the only Starbucks in town. We have all of the luxuries as there are in the big city! I needed my ice cream fix so I made a B line to the Haagen Daz. The are on sale 2 boxes for $6.00. Safeway also has the bomb pastries: eclairs, cream puffs, tiramisu, etc. Love their bakery. I have also gotten sushi grade ahi there which makes for a nice sashimi platter. Love the variety of fruits and vegetables. I thinks Safeway has the largest variety of different apples, other than Whole Foods. If you're going to shop here, get a Safeway card, where you can get discounts on top of discounts. You can even get discounts on gasoline here. No self checkout, but the checkers are pretty fast and friendly. Tip: If you have only a couple of items, to bypass the lines, check out through Starbucks! read more

I visited Safeway on Monday,and bought a lot of groceries,bagged and loaded the cart. The checker said she would call for carry out assistance. No one came. The checker next to us even paged over head to no avail. I'am a disabled senior and ended up pushing a heavily loaded cart and two bags of goods that I hand carried as there was no room to put it in the cart. When I was shopping, I stopped by the deli to pick up some sliced turkey. There were 3 employees supposedly working , walking in and out of the back and not once making eye contact with me. I stood there 10 minutes and continued watching them walking around like zombies. I finally left without my turkey. Going to start making the drive to Raleys. At least they treat their customers with respect. read more

Not a bad grocery store. Besides Walmart, I think this is the only supermarket type store here in Fallon. They have all the normal departments, like a hot food section, deli meats and bakery. There;s even a Starbucks inside here. I'm not sure if it's just like a real Starbucks or not, that will take you Starbucks card. Many of the supermarket and airport locations won't, as I think they might be franchise stores. One thing I didn't like was that all the sale items "club specials", you have to have the Safeway card. I don't live here or have a card, so then you get stuck paying the higher price. I was told you can just ask for a card and the cashier will use that one ...still. We just need a few things and it wasn't too crowded, but I did notice there were no self checkout lines. Not much choice for groceries in this town. read more

Asked the produce employee where the Spaghetti Squash was an he answered "never heard of it!" Told the manager and he replied "we have a few new employees in that department" So much for quality! I hope they don't hire the butchers that way. read more

Whatever previous and first reviewer Abby S. said in her review, I totally agree!!! There is a Starbucks located in the store now. I don't remember it being there last year when I was here. My usual stop here is to buy flowers. The flowers here are always really beautiful, really fresh, and reasonably priced. There are flower arrangements here for everyone's budget. Over priced with employees that could care less. Every one looks miserable, the lines to the 2 open registers we're way to long, took me 9 minutes to check out with 3 items. It's sad that Walmart is the only other option out here but even sadder that Walmart is the better of the 2. read more

I have never been to Safeway before since I moved to Fallon from Utah but their rolls and bagels are so good. I thought their cheesecake looked good too but I didn't get any. It is a typical grocery store that is a little bit on the expensive side but I think it is worth it. read more

I like this establishment, they have an AWESOME selection of organic products, I love! So when I finish my doctor's appointment at the VA, I head on over. I would give this place a 4/5 star due to the customer service, cleanliness, etc. But this place is ALWAYS crowded and short of staff when you're checking out! This is an issue EVERY time I'm here. read more

This Safeway is clean, well stocked and SUPER expensive. They have a great variety of products and carry most high-end or specialty items that I have ever had to look for. Their wine section is great and the lines move quickly. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The parking lot kind of blows because people fly through there and there are a lot of blind spots. read more

I will be honest.. I used to be a Raleys shopper. I have since changed my ways and Safeway is the only way to go. Their produce is the best one can buy in town from a "real" store, the meat is mighty tasty and they have really upped their organic/all natural selection. My only complaint would be the wickedly long lines around payday and welfare day. read more

The floral department is awesome. Great selection and service. We brought in a variety of specialty balloons on two different occasions and Patrick was working in the floral department. He was really helpful and friendly. I always shop floral and they have beautiful bouquet and plant options, along with nice vases and gift options. They also have a great selection of organic produce, drinks and other products available in the store. read more

I give such a low review because I seem to keep getting out dated or close to expiring food!! I bought a bag of potatoes over the hoilday half the bag was rotten buy grapes? two days later they have brown soft spots, dairy products always on the verge of expiration and I bought a bag of pita chips got them home that night went to eat them and they tasted funny looked at the expiration date , expired sept20 2016!!! the day I bought them january 10 2017!!! no excuses for that!!!there prices are high and I shouldnt have to worry about things being fresh. !!!! read more

I go here to avoid all the chaos at Walmart and I usually have a good experience. However the last two weeks haven't been great. Yesterday the gentleman and the two women working the deli were sitting around talking while I tried to get their attention to order something and after patiently waiting for 5 minutes, the man came out and took my order and was clearly annoyed he had to make a wrap for me. 5 minutes after I ordered it he then told me he didn't have the stuff to make what I was asking for, so I canceled my order since I was on a 30 minute lunch break and went and grabbed a quick salad. When i went to check out there was 2 registers open and at least 3 other employees standing by customer service. I had one item and was waiting in line. The older woman with the glasses is extremely nice, however she tells everyone a long story, never fails, and holds up the process of getting everyone out. I was 5th in line and all together, including me and the 4 other guests, we maybe had 30 items all together and after 10 minutes of her talking and the line not moving i got really frustrated, left my stuff and walked out. I wasted 20 minutes of my lunch hour just standing in line trying to get something to eat. I love this store but if I come back, it will be late at night when no one is in there. For the time being, I won't be spending any money in there. Could not believe the amount of disrespect from the deli workers, and I shouldn't have to stand in like for over 10 minutes for one item.
