they closed the store before it was time to close. I came at 11:35 and the doors were locked. terrible service

    Check the dates!!!

If you shop @ the Safeway in Clinton MD, check the dates!!! I purchased several items for clam chowder on 8/6/24 & realized afterwards that 3 of the items had already expired! The celery was slippery so, I checked the date... Expired July 24th. The clams... Expired November 2023. (refer to pics) I could only imagine eating expired seafood! My last purchase will be my LAST purchase @ this location. Well, I'll have to return to Alexandria for my weekly grocery shopping.

Always the spot to hit before the weekend. Fresh fruits and veggies Clean aisles Self check out Seafood options- sometimes the section smells heavy of fish, a turn away for me Bakery is on point! Staff is friendly enough Parking lot is big! Connected to Lowes parking and Walmart is around the corner

Ventured here today looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables…read more Was happy with the selection for today. Picked up some yummy fruits and veggies. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

Here are some descriptives I've come up with: sloppy; disorganized and lacking in essential items. This Aldi is a prime example of how the same chain can differ greatly depending on the surrounding areas socioeconomic status and general demographic. I hope you all see what I'm getting at. The produce was all over the place. There was no spinach. Boxes everywhere. People basically piling on top of each other just to get frozen fish/ veggies. The prices are marked higher than Aldis' is more "affluent" neighborhoods m, such as Alexandria, where berries and other items are at least $1 which is significant. I get a pineapple guacamole that usually 2.89, it was close to 4 bucks at this location. Odd, since this area has a rather low median house hold income and high rates of public assistance. Regardless of any of the factors mentioned--Aldi's as a company needs do stay on top of their stores. Some stores shouldn't be neglected because of where they are. This is clearly a huge staffing/training issue. I thought I was saving sometime coming here, turns out I wasted more time walking up and down the aisles looking for my normal Aldi finds. If this is the only Aldis' you've been to, my review may confuse you. Try driving out to Arlington or Alexandria and I guarantee it will all make sense.
