I was running late and was rushing to get home before the Super Bowl started and remembered that I was supposed to pick up some snacks. Luckily this popped up right on my way home. Got my chips, salsa, cheese, wings etc. Quick in and out since it was mostly empty.

    Disgusting, rude, unprofessional worker.

Today I went in to grab some items to cook dinner. Thought it was going to be a normal trip, in and out. I went over to the meat department and was looking in the butcher area and a nice gentleman asked me if I needed help, I told him "no thank you" as in that moment I didn't need help. I then went over to the meats in the open fridge and started comparing prices and realized the chicken in the butcher area was less expensive so I decided to get it from there. The gentleman was no longer there but I waited a little while to see if he'd be back soon, nothing. So I began to say "hello. Hello" nobody came. No biggie. I noticed a guy stocking meats so I asked him if he could help me. His first response to me was " Didn't the other guy ask you if you needed help and you said no". I was SHOCKED!!! I said "excuse me." He then started walking towards me and repeated himself. I then said "in that moment I didn't need help..." once he finally fully approached me he got extremely close to me all WHILE looking in my phone that was in my hand. Again I'm shocked, like what is going on right now... I then ask him can he please back up. He states I have an attitude and I state back that I don't and would just like some help. He then asked what was it I wanted. I let him know but all while going to get my meat he proceeded to down talk me. Instead of taking it there I walked away (he's still making rude comments) and find a manager. Once I found the manager and explained everything she said she'd send someone over to help me. I got back to the butcher area and the gentleman and the guy are both there and the guy states "I'm not helping her.." I then decide to fully defend myself and let him know my husband will be back up here to have some words with him because he's disrespectful and there was no need for all of that. This whole situation didn't have to happen if he has provided proper customer service. If someone is being nasty and rude to you how would you response? Nothing I did nor said was wrong because this was a man who was unnecessarily rude and invaded my personal space. I will definitely be back with my husband to resolve this professionally because that guy should not be working there. He judged me based on appearances (I have toddler twins whom I've been at home with all day) but unfortunately for him he made a huge mistake and I will be making sure I speak with the district manager. Thank you to the manager who helped de-escalate the situation because if it wasn't for her who knows how this situation would've ended. Also thank you to the other butcher who approached me professionally and remained professional.

At least five homeless people in the front of the store.

I'm sorry to write such a bad review, but the handful of times I've been at this Safeway seems it's under poor management, as well as having a lot of homeless people in the parking lot and in the front of the store. There is a weed shop nearby along with a liquor store, and a 7-Eleven, so I'm sure that attracts the homeless people as well, but goodness! Being followed, or Asked for money as I am coming into buy a few groceries is not ideal. Within the store things seem clean, although in the produce section, there was moldy fruit still out. I saw molded tomatoes, coconuts, bananas, and potatoes! I would not shop at this store, unless you're buying box goods, and enter with a couple of friends since there's homeless people that my pastor/bug you for money. I really wish there was a way we could get the homeless people the mental health and medical help they need, but goodness!! I feel sorry for the employees that have to work here. I will also see the handful of employees I've had ringing me up, looked as if they were high, whether prescription or marijuana, and at today's particular, random pick up of bananas, they were only organic green bananas, which won't be ripe for a few days, but it's freezing outside, and I just needed them. Lol A manager who was a little bit on the thicker side bumped me with her behind, and I pushed forward into the ATM kiosk. I turned back around to figure out what happened and she had no idea. She even bumped me! Very rude, and I told the lady behind me to watch out for her behind! The lady laughed, and stepped out of the way. The manager never apologized to me, but she was dealing with another issue with the cashier and homeless person behind me that the other employee was helping. Goodness!! I honestly am never coming to the Safeway again! Straw that broke the camels back and bumped me with her butt! Lol.

Much improved though the overall shopping center needs to be plowed and remade,it's old and outdated. The Safeway is way cleaner and way more space organized than it used to be and is much more pleasant to shop in as well than before! The fact they have a western union where you can send or receive money is a plus as well. The bakery is probably Safeway's staple and the cold cut section and beverages have most all you would want. Parking lot busy so be careful!

    Such cute Halloween cakes!

This store has such bad reviews! I've been coming here for a decade and have never had a bad experience with any employees. Every employee I've interacted with has been helpful so ‍. I've never used the bathroom here so I can't comment on that. I can usually find everything I want here. I like that they don't immediately throw away bananas that aren't green, I can always find ripe bananas for baking here. It looks like they have a great cake decorator, they have super cute Halloween cakes out!

This Safeway has a lot of rotisserie chickens! And even a chicken pot pie!

It's a nice size Trader Joe's and wasn't too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I immediately found the shelves with new items and picked up a bag of yellow curry potato chips I wanted to try. I also got a small bag of Colombian dark chocolate sticks with crispy rice. When I tried both items later they were delicious. The dark chocolate is rich without being too sweet and has a bit of a coffee flavor that I like. The chips are addicting and a little spicy, but not hot enough to stop a heat wimp like me. They had containers of fresh strawberries, which I can never get enough of, so I put one in my basket. Then I headed for the sweet treats. So many to choose from. I grabbed a package of Meyer Lemon Cookie Thins and a little bag of mini chocolate chip cookies. It turned out they both tasted great, especially the lemon cookies, which would be even more delectable dipped in lemon curd. I usually like to look at the frozen food and pre-made sections, but didn't want to buy anything cold today since I had errands to run afterward. I'll be back soon to take another look around.

I came here around 1pm on a Saturday today and it was very very crowded. The bathroom was a little dirty. I was able to fill up my water bottle at the drinking fountain next to the bathroom. I was able to find every item I was looking for, and I was able to resist the gummy candies next to the register. My cashier was polite and friendly and made pleasant conversation and my bagger was friendly too. My cashier pointed out the location for me of an item that I couldn't find while shopping, which was very helpful. A woman dropped some cash in the produce area and I had to chase her down to give her the cash back. She did not say thank you. Overall, I can see why this TJ's gets so crowded. The food is really good and they have lots of fun stuff. I was even able to purchase some of the mini TJ tote bags here about a month ago. I like this TJ's much better than the other nearby Safeways. I get all my groceries from TJ's and what I can't get at TJ's I get from amazon. The toilet paper at TJ's sucks so I buy it from amazon, and some other things too. Another down side is that I have to park so far away from the store which is a drag. Today at TJ's I was able to purchase: kombucha, goat milk kefir, red bell peppers, hummus, bananas, green tea, irish breakfast tea, and chamomile tea, other stuff too but I won't list everything. I wish this location would give away more samples of food. It's not like they need to improve their business, they have tons of customers, but I think it would be nice to show appreciation for their customers. It's such a nice little bonus to get a free sample. I rarely, rarely see them giving out samples here. They have a sign outside the store saying no emotional support animals and no dogs in the carts. I'm glad they are enforcing that because I think it's disgusting to see a dog in the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, and I wish I could have one, but I just don't think the grocery store is an appropriate place for them.

This store somehow manages to carry half the inventory of every other Whole Foods and then confidently leans into the "every store is different" line like it's a personality trait. Yes, I get that stores vary -- but this one feels like it's running a minimalist experiment the rest of us didn't sign up for. Friendliness is not an option. And let's talk about $1 Oyster Fridays. The oysters are there. The shuckers are there. The vibe? "Absolutely not." They flat-out refuse to shuck them for you, which feels like selling pizza and refusing to slice it because "every pizzeria is different." The real kicker, though, is the energy. The staff acts like friendliness is an optional add-on that didn't make it past budget cuts. I'm not asking for a standing ovation when I walk in -- just basic, Whole Foods-level pleasantness. That's kind of the brand, right? I'll still shop at Whole Foods. Just not this one -- unless I'm in the mood for oysters I have to shuck myself and a side of attitude. The staff at Almaden are All Rockstars!!

I had already called and gone in person to two other Safeway locations, and even though they had plain cakes sitting in the display case, they told me they couldn't decorate one because those were "for orders." I understand it was last minute, but it felt like no one was even willing to try. When I called this Safeway location, the woman on the phone kindly told me they didn't have any cakes with flowers or a spring theme ready. She must have heard the disappointment in my voice because she asked me what I was looking for. I explained the situation and the kind of cake I was hoping for. Without hesitation she said, "You know what? I'll make it for you. Give me about an hour." They didn't just take a plain cake from the display case. They actually asked me what flavor I wanted and made the cake fresh in the flavor I chose, and then decorated it exactly how I imagined it. The piping and flowers were absolutely beautiful. You could tell they really took their time and cared. What touched me even more was the little details. They carefully taped the bottom of the cake to the box so it wouldn't slide while I was driving, making sure the piping and decorations stayed perfect. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to me. When I picked it up, I honestly almost cried because it was so beautiful. At the bridal shower everyone kept complimenting it and asking where it was from. It tasted amazing and became one of the highlights of the day. Those two wonderful women in the bakery didn't just make a cake -- they saved my best friend's bridal shower. They worked so hard, were so kind, and went completely above and beyond for me. I truly feel blessed and so grateful. I even thanked God for them because in that stressful moment they really felt like angels. I hope they get the recognition they deserve, because customer service like that is rare. I have never experienced anything like it, and I will never forget their kindness.
