I want to leave a review since I see so many bad reviews. My insurance offered me a 7:00am appointment, even though they don't open until 8:00am. They completed the work in 1 hour and 20 minutes. They had to recalibrate my 'eyesight' sensor and this can make this take longer. I just had a new update to my Subaru Outback computer system three months ago and that may have made the recalibration faster. It was a great experience. read more

First and last experience dealing with Safelite. Made my appointment via calling their number and speaking with an agent. TIP: Apparently you must SPECIFY if you want your car worked on in the morning, otherwise you will be booked as an "all-day appointment", something that was never discussed or explained to me. I called in the actual shop location the day before my appointment to confirm and asked about when to drop my car off and was told that if it's there by 8:30am, it would be worked into the morning schedule. It was not. My car was not worked on until 4pm. Their guarantee was that my car would be done by end of business, which is posted as 5pm, my car was not finished with the keys in my hand until 6:30. I wasted a day of time off from work, no vehicle, and missed my kid's school event because of their untimeliness and miscommunication. Furthermore, it looked and seemed like my car was completely rushed to get done, because it was. Shoddy work all around the glass, interior was not vacuumed effectively of glass and debris from windshield removal, and other issues regarding new windshield installation. Called corporate and complained about this experience and will also call back to follow-up because I paid $1200!!!!!! for this installation which was TWICE as expensive as done previously through local businesses. I now have been waiting over 30 days for my Tesla OEM glass to come in. No calls. Told it would be 2 weeks because now they stock OEM glass in the warehouse. My right windshield armature was bent after last install and had to be taken to Tesla to fix. Update: 1/3/25 at 4:32 pm door is locked. Sign on door says 5 PM close. I knock because I see the blonde lady sitting at the computer. She comes to the door and opens it then says we are closed. I said I have tried calling multiple times and no one answers. I need to know where my glass is as it has been over 30 days. She said there is no ETA on the glass. She said she would investigate and call me Monday. I am definitely calling Geico, but I seriously doubt they're gonna do anything. read more

I have had a cracked windshield since Tuesday. I can only be available on Saturday because I work the same hours their office is open and Saturday is my only day off. I waited ALL day on my day off Saturday from 8am to 9pm when no one called and no one showed up! I recieved an email saying someone would come from 8am to 6pm. Then the email changed to 8am to 6am the day before! I'm leaving this terrible review and I will most likely be using a company who is ethical to show up! Terrible business practices in just communication I can only imagine how ethical their technicians are doing the job. read more

The technician that came out clearly did not want to do the job-he called and asked to come 4 hrs early said he didn't hve any other work to do-he came early -had 4 different excuses to not do the job giving me worse case scenarios on what might possibly happen and then left- looking for another company where the employees want to work- bad thing is I have a lifetime warranty from them doing it before that I will never get to use-this was a Saturday morning-which is why I believe he just wanted off early read more

I've given this company 3 different times to replace my windshield. First time, the wrong windshield was sent. Second time, it was broken. Third time, the wrong windshield was sent again. After the fist time, why didn't somebody check to make sure that the windshield was a the correct one or not broken before they confirm our appointment? I've taken time off work three times to get this windshield replaced. There won't be a fourth. I'm going somewhere else. read more

safelite is an affiliate for my Progressive auto insurance. They handle windshield replacements. I initially used Safelite. They then changed appointments three times and let me sit in the waiting room for an hour before they told me they ordered the wrong glass. I eventually used Expert glass which did an outstanding job. They also recalibrated which Safelite is incapable of performing. Do not use Safelite! read more

they'll text you the day before your appointment to confirm they will show up sometime within their 5 hour window. And then pull the famous "no call/no show" move. What's even better is if you call, you'll just listen to a recording about how you can manage your appointment by their website. (the only managing you can do is cancel your appointment) Maybe if you stay on the phone you'll be able to talk to someone? Maybe their technician is in their way. Possibly someone at the Safelite St. Augustine location could pick up the phone and reschedule? Keep dreaming. (and waiting) You'll eventually be given the chance to wait for an available agent, followed by multiple "our agents are busy helping other customers" messages. Then after 10 minutes, they tell you they can no longer help and that you should go to their website to manage your appointment, and then they hang up on you. Let's be real. Their agents ain't busy helping anyone. Safelite blows. We spent 1/2 of our Saturday waiting for their invisible technician. No call and no show = bad business. read more

Worse service ever. Would never recommend. Drive 45 minutes and they don't tell me the glass was never there. Then I needed to go back for the install and they couldn't calibrate the glass. So they ordered a new OEM glass. I show up 10 minutes late due to traffic and they wouldn't install as this would put them behind schedule. Unprofessional as it's ok to put me behind by not informing me that a glass never came in. Never using safelight again. Worst experience ever. read more

I had an appointment for 8:00, and showed up slightly before. When I walked in, the man behind the counter said he had me pulled up and just needed the key, without verifying ANY information (not even my name). I hear the car get pulled in around 40 minutes after my appointment. Shortly after a technician walked in and calls out a name (not mine), then says Audi wagon, and I turned around, saw my car outside and said that was really fast! The technician informs me they have the wrong glass. Then he goes over the information on the work order and then we come to find out the wrong vehicle was checked in. They also did not have my glass on hand. The man who checked me in was apparently the manager and blamed it on the insurance company since they set the appointment. Well when I called the insurance company, they had the correct info on the claim, then we spoke with safelite who also had the correct info in the system as well. Not only did I waste time off work, but also an hour sitting around because they were late to start for an appointment just to find out everything was wrong and could have been avoided if the manager verified my name or something. Terrible!!! They installed a defective windshield with a fisheye right in the driver's view. It's very hard to drive like this; it makes me dizzy. They keep rescheduling and making excuses. I have left several messages for the manager with no return call. I will be reporting this to my insurance company. This is the worst company to deal with. read more

Horrible service. Made an appt online. Put in what was wrong and it brought me to the service that needed to be completed (Window regulator replacement). The website even said this. had multiple texts and emails confirming my appt and service that was to be completed. Received a call less than 24 hours before my appt. Was told that they don't do that and they are canceling my appt. Then hung up. No explanation or guidance where to go to. Do not use them. read more

If I could give you zero stars I would... I have used Safelite in the past to repair my front windshield and have never had an issue. When I broke my back windshield on my Jeep, the logical choice was Safelite. Companies are all great when things are going well, it is when they do not go well, that a company and its employees true colors shine through. It has been 5 weeks, yes 5 weeks and counting and 5 visits. First was wrong glass, driver blamed manager as not being organized and tendency to put wrong name on boxes, I of course ask, if you know this, why don't you verify? Second tech stripped the hinges bolts. Took back to office to see if can be repaired. Of course not, so they tell me I have to order parts. I explained that they broke them, they should replace them. Supposedly ordered new parts, 3-4 days, which went to 5-7 days which went to 8-10 days. Paulette at location, who is not very friendly told me not to call anymore, as they would call when parts came in. I had only called a few times...I was told, Parts all finally came in, next tech comes out, doesn't have parts, then told they have wrong parts. I have posted on FB, filed a complain with their customer care who offered to help, they have had ZERO follow up. Asked for a RM who finally called in week three, Corey made a lot of promise, delivered on zero. Called Corey back, made more promises, no follow up. Followed up with customer care, zero follow, sorry Celeste...Store assistant manager Bob keeps telling me different stories, none of which I believe anymore. GEICO is telling me since they broke a piece, I cannot change vendors. This is the most disorganized, poorly managed not only at store level, but RM and customer care that I have ever seen. I am stuck with you now, but wasting my time with nothing but lip service has been eye opening. BE WARNED that if you are anything other than a simple windshield replace and something goes wrong, you and your vehicle, may never be the same again. Shame on you Safelite, your customer service is appalling and someone should stand up and fix it! read more
