They actually deserve 5+ stars! Here's how our story went that led us here. We were driving home to Essex, MD, from a nice vacation in Virginia. We were about 1/3 of the way when we saw balloons flying about the highway. We did not think too much of it until one hit our windshield . These balloons were the size of a hardball. What was going on was someone had put stones in them, just enough, and tossed them out of an open car window. One hit our windshield, and we got an immediate star that progressed to a 10" crack. The star could have been fixed, but not the crack. We now have a safety hazard that needs to be replaced. We called Safelite because of their reputation and made an appointment. The day came, and we took the suv in. They immediately pulled it into the service area with a prediction of 1 1/2 hours. It was done in 40 min. The waiting room was very clean and supplied with cold bottled water and a Keurig machine to make your own coffee or tea, a good assortment. Before we left, the technician explained there were 2 strips of tape about 10" long to keep the windshield in place, remove them after 2 days. Ok. We drove off after paying the deductible, then 2 days later removed the tape, we'll, it left the adhesive part on the roof from the sun baking it. We took it back, and they had the stuff to remove it. We were happy! You could not ask for better staff and friendly employees, each and everyone from start to finish. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SCAMMED!!! I set up an appointment for my windshield to be repaired on February 13th, 2026. The service technician, Thomas, said that he could not fix it as I would need a windshield shield replacement. He also said that he would talk to the customer service about refunding my money so that I could schedule the correct service. It has been a MONTH AND NO WORD HAS BEEN UTTERED or EMAILED ABOUT RETURNING MY PAYMENT. I have called the company multiple times only to be met with AI. I have emailed and I have had to drive to the location with the broken windshield. They will NOT return any phone calls NOR will they return your money which upsets me as a college student with chronic health issues. I have attached a photo which was taken on March 3rd. read more

My brother and I were traveling to NC when he noticed a small chip in my windshield. He told me to get it taken care of ASAP so it doesn't lead to a crack. I was able to get an appointment online for the next afternoon at 2pm. I arrived a little early and reception was happy to check me in. There were a few people already seated when I walked in. I was happy to learn it could be repaired in roughly 45 minutes! But in addition to the wait time, I had to allow the adhesive to set properly, which added another 30 minutes of wait time. But the time went by quickly. Even better was my car insurance covered the repair at 100%! Yay! Everyone was very helpful, informative and courteous, from the receptionist to the technicians. I was also text messaged and informed about the progress of the repair. It's awesome that this business cares so much about doing a good job and treating people fairly. The technician showed up late and wasn't the friendliest person I ever met. About a half hour into it he knocks on my door and says he can't complete the replacement because the new windshield is scratched. Shouldn't that moron (Dominique) have checked before he left the shop to make sure it was useable? Then he rescheduled me for a location and time that I didn't agree to. To top things off you can't call the specific location directly. You call a number to a call center and they kept transferring me to the location I was rescheduled for. So I can't tell the rosedale location that they are a bunch of incompetent idiots. I'll stick with a broken windshield before I let those complete morons touch my truck read more

I went into the location to have my systems recalibrated after I had a windshield replacement. After they completed the recalibration & I left the establishment, I noticed my disability placard was missing which was placed between my windshield & dashboard. I called the store back to tell them I couldn't find it but they told me they did not have it. Abysmally bad. The rear windshield was shattered on November 21. I originally had to wait through 48 hours of torrential rain for an available technician, only to have him install the wrong glass. Six additional appointments have either been cancelled or postponed, including today's. When I called the contact number, the dispatcher told me the appointment had been cancelled because the technician had tried and failed to contact me. There was no call or text, but I did receive an e-mail notifying me that said technician would arrive at 1:35. When I relayed that information to the dispatcher 25 minutes past the expected arrival time, she hung up on me. If - IF - the correct windshield is finally installed at the rescheduled time, it will have been almost two months since the original contact. How they think this is appropriate customer service is beyond me. This is the best Safelite can do. WOW. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience here yesterday, and I'm telling everyone I know. On my way home from the office on 695 on Monday, I was turning off on 43 when an SUV kicked up a stone that hurtled directly into my windshield. A small chunk of glass was chipped out, and it immediately started to stellate. Of course it was past business hours at this point so I had to wait to make an appointment. I managed to get an appointment for the next afternoon at 2. I arrived early, but reception was happy to check me in and someone was even available to check out the damage right away. I didn't know if it could be repaired or had to be replaced, and I was happy to learn they could repair it, in roughly 30 minutes! Even better, my insurance covered the repair 100%! Yay! Everyone I came into contact with was super helpful, informative and courteous, from reception to the techs. I even overheard a tech that was distressed because they couldn't get a better deal for a repeat customer. It's awesome that this business cares so much about doing a good job and treating people fairly. My car turned out great, and the tech was really proud of how it turned out too. I had scheduled two weeks ago, for my windshield to be replaced. I immediately was sent a notification that the windshield would need to be ordered and because of the specific windshield I had, I would need to have it repaired on site to make sure everything was good. No problems there. The day before my appointment, a week later at this point, I get a call saying they would need to order my windshield and that I would need to reschedule my appointment for when it comes in. Keep in mind when I placed my original order I was already told this. I then asked if the order for the part was placed when I put in the request a week prior and I was told," Oh, I didn't see it until today." So I verified that my part was not ordered because they didn't look at the order until the day before it was to be completed. I was already annoyed because I have a very busy schedule and carved time out of my schedule for that maintenance and the Customer Service Rep speaking with me sounded annoyed that I was upset. Fast forward to today when I was notified that my part was in. I was told to click the link to schedule my appointment. I go to click the link only to realize that the price has increase $20+. When I called to inquire about the price increase I was told that when insurance covers the part a coupon is not applicable. However, when I booked my first appointment I had already had my insurance deductible included with the coupon and final price. They gave me to a customer service and while I was explaining exactly that she hung up on me. I see the majority of these reviews all have to do with Safelites customer service representatives under performing rather than the quality of work. I honestly wouldn't go here if my windshield didn't come in today honestly based off the customer service I've been given so far, and I haven't even walked into the establishment. 10/10 would highly not recommend. read more

My window was smashed out halloween night. Today is November 11th. I hD an appt yesterday which was anywhere from 8-5. I took the day off work. The tech showed up at 130 pm and told me my garage was too small. So I was told to meet at the shop at 430. Once at the shop the tech called me outside to tell me my regulator was broken. Isn't that something a window company should know if the window was bashed in and the pieces of glass were stuck every where?! That is unacceptable. I work every day and expected a company that solely does window repair to get the job done. The window was not fixed and the safelite customer service representative told me I had to open a claim with my insurance for damages! Lucky for me I have AAA and they are competent unlike safelite customer service. Aaa authorized the purchase of the regulator for repair. Who knows when that will come in! I will be waiting for them to contact me. But in the meanwhile I will be calling other companies to get it done sooner. I'm looking money everyday that my window is broken and safelite should be held accountable. They are so busy and understaffed they don't care about their customer issues. Well it was awful trying to get through to someone on the phone. Had to call as opposed to online due to questions needing to be ask that I couldn't ask online. Richard from Yellow Brick Rd. Rosedale did not inspect upon completion. He did not vacuum my car nor did he clean my windows. He failed to reattach my washer fluid hose under the cow screen and that was a huge nightmare trying to get back in touch with them to have that taken care of. You suck at your job Richard. I was scheduled for someone to come between 12-5 and was accidentally deleted off the schedule after waiting all day. Nice. In the end Matt from Memory Lane location in York, Pa come by my house personally on his way home from work that day and reattached my washer hoses and saved the day. I was able to pay online and the technician arrived at the moment he said he would! The work was done well and I was notified when the job was done. The technician carefully reviewed the measures I had to follow after the new windshield was installed. He even saved my residential parking permit decal from the old windshield and carefully covered the sticky side of my EZ pass so I could mount it with no issues. Covid safe! read more

I've dealt with Safelite for years and was happy for the most part besides them being very expensive. I took off work and Safelite cancelled my mobile service at the last minute and wanted to reschedule me for two weeks later, and the weather called for rain all week. I asked them to refund my money and I found a local service that replaced my windshield in 30 minutes for 50% less than Safelite charged me, so needless to say, Safelite has lost me forever. Big stone. Big ding. Tuesday roadtrip to DC was impacted by a stone attracted to my windshield. Nice big ding. Too big of a ding for a deductible-free repair. I called my auto insurance carrier who partners with Safelite for repair and replacement for just a $100 comprehensive deductible. They gave me a phone number and the appointment was set for Wednesday, at home, in the 12-5 window. The tech arrived at 12:40 and was done by 2. Great service. Repair was my front passenger window after it was smashed. I couldn't get an appointment until the following day, but they invited me to come in to wrap my window (for weather) free of charge. It took about 15 minutes ... and was pleasantly surprised when the technician also vacuumed all the glass that was in my car! When I came back for my appointment today, my car was ready in 50 minutes (faster than expected) and it looks great. They sanitized the car (per COVID) after working on it. This review is about customer service not work completed. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Made an appt on Wednesday to have windshield replaced on Saturday. Called twice before appt to discuss drop off. Dropped off my car on Friday. Received a call about an hour later saying that they did not order my windshield and it wouldn't be fixed until the following week. There were three opportunities for them to tell me directly that the windshield still needed to be ordered - specially when I dropped off the car. They also could of called to let me know my appointment needed to be rescheduled. Instead they wasted my time. This is unacceptable customer service. read more

I had an accident that caused my front windshield to have a nasty crack in it and knew from a prior windshield replacement that Safelite would be quick and easy. And it was! I made the appointment online, having to change it twice due to my wacky schedule. The Safelite van came to me and in about an hour, it was done! The technician was able to carefully remove my parking permit sticker and put it back onto the inside of the glass and he put my rear view mirror back. He was friendly and fast and patiently answered my many questions. It was about $100 to have it done, as per my insurance. read more

Went in there for a chip to my windshield. Didn't want it to get any bigger so I went within maybe 25-30 mins of it happening as a walk in customer. They welcomed me amazingly even when I wasn't familiar with the process. For only $75 they fixed it entirely saving me so much with not having to replace the entire windshield. Car was broken into on Friday morning. Made claim and scheduled at another location for Wednesday. Went to the Rosedale location on Saturday due to the other location being undermanned. They pulled up the schedule and told me they could get me done that day at 1pm. Took the car back, in an hour they were done and I was out the door. My car was broken into (they didn't even take anything, just made my feel disappointed in the world and have to pick glass out of my clothes that I left in my back seat. Annoying lol.) my insurance gave me Safelite as an option and I've only heard good things. It was covered by insurance which was awesome because I almost didn't report it, thinking my rates may just increase and it might just be cheaper to pay outright for. I made an appointment online, arrived, and my (rear passenger) window was replaced with identical tint in just over an hour. They also thoroughly cleaned out all of the remaining glass from my seats, door, and carpet. Exceeded my expectations, thankful they know how to do business well. I have never left a negative review. The experience was awful. I made an appointment a week ahead of time. Four days prior to my appointment I received a confirmation for a different time and a different location. I adjusted my schedule to accommodate the new time and place. The Sunday before my Monday appointment I received another email with an earlier time. I scrambled to make it work. When I arrived they said that they had my appointment for the later time. When I showed them the confirmation email they just shrugged and asked if I could leave the car for the day. I replied no and they asked if I would like to reschedule. I was scheduled service at the Safelite in Rosedale and when I arrived at the shop, I signed paperwork and waited approximately 30 minutes. A technician came into me and told me he could not replace my windshield because it was raining. So, it had been raining all day. No one had the common courtesy to call me and tell me to reschedule and let me sit there for 30 minutes until someone told me to reschedule. I rescheduled for the next day, the technician came to my house and told me the mirror had fallen off and could not be replaced for 24 hours and someone would be at my house the following day at 1:45PM. No one showed up. I called the store and they were closed. I left a voicemail and it is a week later and no one has returned my call. I called again today and was told no one was available to take my call and the customer service rep sent an email to the manager to call me. I still have not received a call. Whatever you do, do not go to this shop. Safelite is a horrible choice. read more

I scheduled an on-site windsheild repair at my house. The guy showed up a little late... no worries, very professional, and finished the job and left. As recommended, I didn't drive the car or touch it for many hours. When I got in the car and started driving, the rear view mirror fell off. This is where my complaint starts, I tried to call Safelite many different times and could not get anybody on the phone. I finally ended up getting a message that if I wanted anything done or needed customer support, I had to send an email because they're too busy and COVID was effecting their operations. As I can't drive my car with the rear view mirror dangling down by a wire, I had to drive to a Safelite store...very inconvenient... to try to get them to fix the problem, which they did. I don't think you, Safelite can continue to blame things on Covid, which you continue to do... you're obviously providing a service to your customers, taking their $$ and should be offering decent customer service post job completion... currently a fail! read more

I had a simple repair of a rear passenger window that was broken on my company truck due to a rock from a landscaper breaking it. Upon picking up the vehicle (on a cool day in April), I was not notified or made aware by any employee or technician of my window trim/weather strip being broken during the repair. It took me to roll my window down for the first time (during a warm day in May) to notice the broken part on the vehicle as well as scratched paint (from a tool that scratched the paint) which leaves me to to think it was not a trim tool. I'm pretty upset that nobody brought this to my attention because I wouldn't have felt the need to leave a review. Depending on the response because I did send an email because there aren't any representatives to speak to when I call, I may post another review (could be better I hope). read more

My pick up truck windshield got nicked from a rock popping up off the highway. As time went on, this nick quickly spread into a crack more than a foot long. I called my insurance company. I requested SafeLite AutoGlass in Rosedale because I have had great results in the past. My insurance agent immediately transferred my call and Mary at SafeLite took my information over the phone and set up the appointment that worked best for my schedule. She was very friendly and courteous. On the day of the appointment, I was available earlier than the scheduled appointment, went to their location and asked if they could do the work at that time. Without delay, they checked their schedule and was able to fit me in. My technician, Justin was very professional and accommodating. He did an efficient and excellent job. The work is satisfactory, but the cleanup is shoddy! I had a window replaced after a break-in, which they assured me would be done and all the glass cleaned up in about an hour. Sure enough, the call came in and it was completed in under an hour. Unfortunately, there was glass everywhere - the floor, the mats, the console, and the seats. I saw a bit of glitter on the vinyl inside by the frame and swiped my finger over it, only to find that it was (I should have known) extremely-finely shattered glass dust, which promptly cut my finger in several places. I brought it back in and asked them to take care of it, so they wiped the vinyl in that one spot and did a cursory vacuum - it was under 5 minutes. Of course, there was still glass everywhere, so I gave up, went home, and scheduled a detailing - which DID take care of it. When contacted about the poor clean-up, they made a big show about being customer-oriented, but ended up doing nothing more than saying they'd do better if I brought it back. No, thank you - the job was done right by a third-party, and a second chance is one too many. read more

This is the second time I've had to bring my car to the shop , the first time they ordered the wrong glass before i dropped it off they say 2 hours while my appointment was for 11 am .... then i left and they called back saying there was damage to the windshield they ordered my car wouldn't be ready until 4 , 5 hours to replace a windshield? I have work later hence the reason for having my appointment at 11 , do not recommend they don't consider your time! Never again shitty time management read more

All around terrible service and installation. I show up for my initial appointment only to be told they can't fix the crack because it goes to the edge of the glass. The website says they can repair cracks up to 6 inches, no mention of the location of the crack. Another appointment is scheduled for the following day. At first they refuse to replace the windshield because I put a bead of silicone along the cowl seal to correct a water leak. There was no mention of this being an issue the day prior at my initial appointment. The seal and silicone were removed, and they take the vehicle to replace the windshield. It was supposed to take 45 min to an hour, but ended up taking 5 hours. The installer broke part of my dash that houses all of the warning lights and offered no remedy or repair beyond free wiper blades. I will be contacting management to pay for the repair. read more

After a recent break-in at the light-rail station in Timonium, my insurance company put me in touch with Safelite to handle my window repair. Fortunately it was only a driver's side window, which, on first blush, was an easy enough fix. Safelite will come to your residence or place of business to do repairs, which is very convenient, although they do use the Comcast method of giving a four-hour appointment window. Mine happened to be 8-12 on a Monday morning, and it actually turned out better than I thought, with the technician, Kurt, showing up at my house promptly at 9:15. So far so good, I would get my car fixed and have most of a day of work left. And then we hit the set-back, and really the sole reason for this mediocre rating. Karl arrived to fix my driver's side window, but, for some reason, they had given him a passenger side window to replace. Having repeatedly informed the dispatcher of which window needed to be fixed, and having double-checked that I had not wandered into the UK by accident, this was a bit shocking. Kurt mentioned that his was the second time today, so it seems to be a running issue with dispatch. Having realized the problem, Kurt had to run back to their shop to fetch a new window, which added an extra hour to my waiting time. Upon his return, the repair was quick, professional, and clean, with very few bits of tempered glass left within the vehicle, and none larger than pea size. Overall a good service, if only their dispatchers could learn to differentiate left and right in car lingo... read more
