I received a few quotes with varying prices and couldn't decide, therefore I also did a Google search of reviews of the various places to help me make my decision of where to take my vehicle. GP, which is 45 mins away from my home, and an hour in traffic from my work, quoted me a flat rate with parts and labor included, which was $20 more than a shop in my neighborhood. The removal and install was fast, and the gentleman was very professional. My bill was actually $20 more than the flat rate quoted. Therefore, I ended up paying $40 more than I would have paid had I gone to a local shop, 1hour 45 mins driving, and a 1/4 tank of gas. Pricey lesson learned. However, I'm grateful that my windshield is fixed before winter. I recommend this location for folks who live in the area. It's clean with a comfortable waiting room. Also, if you're low in cash, make sure you know that "flat rate" doesn't mean the same to everyone. Use the Project tool to receive quotes, etc, but do extra homework and know exactly how much a service will cost you in exact pricing, considering your travel (gas) expenses, and time when comparing.

My story starts at Safelite, in Troy MI…read more I was there this morning for a 9:00AM appointment. One person waiting for her car (Ms. X). I was originally going to pick it up when finished, but decided to wait. At 9:30, another customer walks in and says she is early for her appointment. I watch as her call gets pulled into the service bay as mine is still in the spot I left it. Just before 10:00 someone comes to give Ms. X her keys and she leaves. At 10:00 another customer walks in and says they are right on time. I watch as their car goes into the service bay while my car is in the same spot. I see a couple of service people come to the desk and return to the service area. I go outside to take a call outside and see that there is an empty service bay and I decide it is time to get my keys and go. I went to the desk after some shuffling of papers looking for my keys on the desk the guy goes to the service area comes back and hands them to me. No apology, excuse or explanation. I say "thanks" and leave. I got home and started searching for a place for service. I called E & C Auto Glass and was quoted a price a lot lower than Safelite, and he could come out to my house in the afternoon. Marc came to my house and did the repair in an hour. He also charged a lot less. Repair looks like it was factory new. I will recommend E & C to anyone that needs to have a Autoglass repaired. Maybe it would have been different if Satellite came to my house to do the repair, but in the end, I am glad I did not pay ahead of time and I same a lot of money and supported a small business. Not to mention I have a Safelite story to share in a commercial if they want.

I mean the stores name literally has tire in the name. I stopped going to belle for a few years because of the service men and how they treat people but today i had no choice as i was stranded. My gf and i walked in and a guy with tattoos all down both of his arms had us wait a min and then asked what's wrong. I explained to him and he literally "broomed" us, for anyone who doesn't know that means they don't want to deal with you and make you leave in a nice way. He said they don't do plugs and they only patch and it will be "many hours" until we can be seen. He didn't even go outside and look at my jeep, he didn't even ask me anything about my jeep , nothing at all. All he did was lecture us on why plugs are bad. Since i felt totally disrespected and stranded but his willingness to help i asked him does he know of anywhere else i can go. POOR CUSTOMER CARE…read more Safelite - Clinton Township MI (James D. Store Manager) was unresponsive to 3 emails, and finally took my call due to our insurance company setting up a 3-way. The store manager did not hear my problem, due to damage of the latch-actuator from residual broken glass as would qualify this as poor workmanship. Our hatch / latch cavity should have been 100% clear/clean from broken glass as this clean-up was attempted by your Tech, but did not remove all broken glass with the tools on-site. Doing a complete job, would not have led to broken glass clogging the actuator, thus causing the unit to fail and an out of pocket expense of $900.00 https://www.safelite.com/national-lifetime-warranty
