So we recently sold our beloved home in Brownsburg and relocated to New Pal which took NUMEROUS trips on 465 ...(last one is today) on one trip my Jeep Gladiator windshield got broken by a dump truck hauling gravel .. The professional that came out to replace my windshield was prompt , friendly and knowledgeable. DO NOT GO HERE! Called to make sure can get pilkington windshield and they confirmed numerous times they can and ordered it. I was not going to go to Safelite if they couldn't get this brand of windshield. On day of appointment confirmed they had the pilkington windshield at location. When checked in also confirmed. Well, when we got our car no word from the place they didn't have pilkington they just put in Fuyao with no mention of it. And not only that but the quality of their calibration was poor as my front collision detection doesn't work and there was adhesive all over my paint of my car! They do not have good quality service at all. They also charged me for windshield wipers they didn't replace. I complained to my insurance company and safelite and after calling numerous times over the week I finally got a manager to call me. He told me sorry we can't get pilkington...a bit too late to tell me that. But he said good news "I was told that pilkington makes fuyao windshields" so you are good. This is a complete lie! Also he was telling me for my troubles he would give me another pair of windshield wipers. Ridiculous. The pilkington glass is available but they choose to not install as it is more expensive and doesn't bring them new business like fuyao which will have issues much sooner. They charged my insurance 1400 for a cheap windshield and poor quality install. This is insane as I just bought my son a pilkington windshield for his car installed with calibration in CA for 600 out of pocket. I will never ever go to Safelit again and will be reporting them to state AG and BBB unless they fix this issue and do what they said they were going to do. read more

Quick but Expensive. They came out next day, but it was about $500. The guy the sent was kinda new. Took him a few hours to get the old glass out and ther was lots of broken glass on the dash, in the vents, and on the seat. He cleaned most of it, but I had to vacuum after he left to get the rest. Nothing special about the glass. No sensors or anything. Just a plain glass windshield. Next time I had a broken windshield I found several companies who quoted me about $250. I don't plan to use Safelite again. Great ads, but low value and poor service. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Went third party through my insurance to repair a small chip. Tech came out and within 20 minutes said he was done. Now there's a 8 inch crack down my windshield. Safelight has it in fine print that you accept any risk of them breaking it further, so now I'm out a $500 deductible for a new windshield. Tech should've explained the risk before "repairing" and Safelight should make you sign to accept the risk. Do not trust and will never use again. read more

I went in for a windshield replacement. The online scheduling service requires the VIN number of the vehicle, but somehow the wrong windshield was ordered for the car. They used the windshield available, but left me without a rearview mirror for two weeks. In addition, the driver side windshield wiper was set too high and was coming off of the windshield. I went back and they were able to fix that quickly. I went back for the new windshield. That went well this time, but my dashcam did not work anymore. I found that it was a blown fuse so I'm not sure what happened, but the coincidence made me question the handling of the dashcam during the windshield removal. Finally, they installed the dashcam and it is significantly pointed to the right so I had to re-center it. Overall, the windshield was replaced successfully, the calibration went well, and the staff was wonderful for both trips. I recommend that you verify these things (dashcam, wipers, etc.) before leaving the facility so that you don't have to make additional trips back or create more work for yourself. I would still recommend them because the actual windshield replacement and calibration went well. read more

Mobile service is unreliable. I scheduled the appointment two weeks ago. They canceled my appointment at my apartment this morning a half hour after the tech was supposed to be there, by text. They gave the option to reschedule, but I had taken the day off from work specificically to get this done. They didn't care at all. I can't get another day off now for around 90 days. They don't care. I just told them to refund the money I paid in advance and I will definitely not recommend them. read more

I need my windshield replaced, the insurance said to call satellite I did they cancelled my first appointment then offered me an appointment a week and a half later. I was upset at the poor service. So I called and informed them of the situation They said the could squeeze me in today. Cut to today They called and said they tried contacting me but I didn't answer so he just went on with his day. THIS IS A LIE THEY NEVER CALLED I AM SITTING HERE WAITING ON THEM TO COME. I have my phone in my hand. THERE WAS ZERO ACTIVITY ON MY PHONE. PLUS WHY WOULD THE MAKE NO ATTEMPT TO RING THE DOORBELL OR KNOCK ON THE DOOR? Before leaving since I have confirmed the appointment they have texted me repeatedly to confirm things. Scheduled online last Wednesday for Saturday appointment between 8-12. Confirmed on the phone Friday for Saturday morning. Then got a notice for a reschedule for Saturday 12-5. Didnt show. No call. Nothing. I put a clear sealant on t keep it from getting worse. Then three days later, a guy shows up randomly to fix my windshield. I had him take a look at it, but he said since I'd already done something to it, he wouldn't touch it. Then I got a survey asking me about my experience and they wanted to know my race, my sex my age and whether or not I was Hispanic. I have truly never had such a horrible experience with a company. Save yourself the frustration and go to literally any other glass company in the city. Anyone would be better. ANYONE. This is the most unprofessional and clueless management I have ever attempted to work with. The technicians were very friendly and were as helpful as they could be in the situation, but the management is truly awful. A technician came to my house and had the wrong windshield (totally fine) so they rescheduled for the next week. A different technician then showed up with the same wrong windshield. He told me his manager would be in touch in the coming days to reschedule - it has since been two and a half weeks and I have yet to hear from anyone. Attempting to call their customer service line hardly ever resulted in reaching a human being - by the time I finally got a hold of the manager of the branch there was no attempt to explain what had happened, where the windshield they supposedly ordered for me was, or apology for the month of run-arounds. My wife's car was broken into 6-7 weeks ago, so we called Safelite as we've used them before. Here we are 6 weeks later and we've had 5 install appointments where the tech either didn't have all the parts or had the wrong sized window. In the time it's taken Safelite to (still unsuccessfully) replace the broken window, the car was broken into again. All of the techs have been very nice and apologetic, but considering this is an auto glass repair company and they have been unable to complete my order in under a month and a half, I can't recommend them. read more

Had a chip. Called and they came out to repair. Repair wasnt great, but did look better. I should have just told them it isnt going to work and pay full amount considering it wasnt chip was still noticable and not fully repaired. Well....two weeks later and the chip was exactly like it was originally. I called to see about anyone coming out, they immediately just quoted me $980 for new windshield- said nothing else could be done and no way to issue a refund. Guy was there for 10 minutes. I set my appointment of prior. as a truck driver that's an owner operator, you lose money when your not driving. but I had no choice but to park for the day. The technician lied in their notes. He said he Showed up and nobody was here. which is a lie because there is someone at the desk 24/7. The two technicians name were Andy and Allen. I've called multiple times. And the call service told me the store would call me back within 10 min, which was also a lie. Never got the call. This has gotten to be the worse service of any company I ever had. They could have at the very least told me they are gonna be late or can't make it. But to lie and said you came and nobody was here? That is really fucked up. Completely professional. The customer waiting area is comfortable and clean. My drive to the shop was 15 minutes each way. The wait before my car was looked at was 25 minutes, and the repair was 20 minutes. 1 hour 15 minutes total was better than I expected. The work is very good. A little bit of the crack is still visible, but it was a very large crack, so I am ok with it. The only thing I would change is getting started on the vehicle at the appointed time. read more

Had two cracks in my windshield from a rock strike. Needed to go to Safelite shop because I park in gated garage. I didn't have time to leave my car for later pickup. The staff at Safelite was unbelievably accommodating and replaced my windshield in less than two hours. They did a great job. I also overheard a conversation where another customer did not yet have the approval of his insurance company. Again, the staff at Safelite was very accommodating and really helped him out. "Part didn't arrive" "Part damaged" Third time it was fixed, but you would think there would have been compensation for two wasted trips and the time. Was directed to the "operator" while trying to get my windshield replaced on my work vehicle. After about 2-4 mins of questions about the vehicle, we moved on the scheduling. Apparently it was too hard for the lady to work with me on the scheduling part as she hung up on me. I tried explaining multiple times that we travel and was trying to find a close location to meet me on site to assist with replacement especially since I was on a deadline and the vehicle was being transferred out of state. I wasn't able to go to the shop as I have kids and I can't take them in my work vehicle. That's not their problem at all but in the end it was the rudeness of the employee and the ultimate hang up that irritated me. Not a professional in anyway. Oh where do I begin?! It's going on three weeks and it's still not done correctly. The first time someone came out to repair my back window, he left so much glass in (all over) and ON (the roof and trunk) my car, it was insane. He told me when he got there that he didn't have the proper equipment to vacuum the glass and that since my car was black, there would be lots of scratches when he finished..Well there are several scratches on my car and he also broke the clips on an inner panel of vehicle and I've yet to receive a replacement. There's been 3 different people come out for one job and it's still not right. I haven't received any sort of refund or phone call following up and I'm beyond livid.. Now there's also "fog like" marks in the back window (I'm assuming looks like air is getting in.) and glass in my speakers. I will be contacting the better business bureau tomorrow. I made the mistake of thinking this was a reputable company because I've heard of the name...I do not recommend this company to anyone, so unprofessional. read more

Writing a review for the Shadeland Ave location. I had an appointment for yesterday, Tuesday May 1st at 3pm at the Shadeland Ave location in Indianapolis, IN. I initially called my insurance company when my vehicle was vandalized and was directed through Nationwide to a Safelite "operator" who took my information down improperly so when I showed up for my appointment they let me know that the wrong window had been ordered and they would have to order another one and I then scheduled to have them meet me at a (my) location the next day to get the window installed. The girl who initially took my information through me contacting my insurance company was so confusing im guessing she confused herself on which window I needed and only seemed interested in reading information to me off a piece of paper like a robot. After rescheduling for the next day to have my window put in after already taking off work to visit the Shadeland location, I left Safelite with the person behind the desk saying only that someone would contact me the next day, nothing else. When the tech showed up to location the next day he informed me that the price of the window went from a price I pre-paid the previous day of $147.00 to now almost $350. No one ever mentioned a price change previously. Not only that but the tech mentioned today on Wednesday that he didn't even know how a window could only cost $147 and that most of them were much more expensive. I had to turn down the transaction because of the new price but as well as because I felt swindled. This is no way to do business and I will make a report to BBB and have no problem contacting my Attorney General on this matter if need be. The Shadeland location is obviously pulling some kind of scam involved with insurance and not a legitimate place to do business with. I am also contacting Nationwide to try to influence them to not do business with Safelite anymore. read more

When I called to schedule an appointment for my broken glass on Sunday, I was originally offered a next day appointment. I could not make that so I was offered a Thursday morning mobile appointment between 8-noon. No one showed up and no one called. I finally called at 12:30 and after being on hold for a long period of time I was told that my glass did not come in. I guess it's a good thing I didn't take off work for the Monday appointment. I asked why no one called me and the woman on the phone agreed that someone should have but offered no apology. She said that her manager would call me, which that person did conveniently while I was still on the phone. They said my glass should be in tonight and rescheduled me for Friday morning. They removed the cost of the mobile visit fee from my bill. She said I would be first on the list, so they should be here at 8:30am. On Friday morning at 8:15am I hadn't received a phone call or the confirmation email, so I called the office and asked if the technician was coming out. I was told that yes, I had an appointment scheduled and he should call me shortly. I asked her to check and see if my glass was in. She came back on the line and told me it was not. I told her that I was upset that no one was going to call and tell me that just like yesterday. She told me that it was coming "all the way from Nebraska". I told her I could have driven there and back by now and that I was very upset. She said they would call me when it came in. On Monday, I called the office to see if it was in and spoke to Bridget. She was extremely professional and actually apologized for the issues. Bridget called me back and let me know the glass was in and scheduled me for the next day. Dealing with Bridget made this whole ordeal better, then my technician came out. He seemed a little put out when I asked him to please make sure that he vacuumed the seat as it had gotten the most amount of glass shards on it. He did comply with the request. I was really disappointed to see that he did not remove any of the adhesive left behind from the tape around my window. After being taped for over a week, because I kept being promised they would come, even painters tape left some adhesive. I would have thought adhesive removal was part of the service considering the price. I won't be using Safelite again and I won't be recommending them to anyone else. read more

I had a dump truck pop up a rock and chip my windshield right at the bottom of my line of view. I went to their Shadeland Indy location after signing up for an appointment online and they educated me on how chip repairs work unfortunately I could not get a simple repair.(however if I had and it continued to crack they said they would take the cost of the repair off of my install later). As this car is a work vehicle I considered a replacement a better option. They scheduled for someone to come to my house on a Saturday to replace the window, and because I set up my initial appointment online they had all my information which made it easy to schedule another appointment at my home. 2 Saturdays later, 2 guys in 2 vans showed up and replaced the window. They were very professional and answered all my questions. They called in the morning to let me know they would be there later that afternoon, and again when they were about 15 minutes away. I would use them again, everyone I encountered was friendly, professional and very good at explaining the process along the way. read more

Very unsatisfying, do not use Safelite. Horrible work n customer service is worse, I took off work two days in a row n They still never showed up to fix what they didnt do right the first time. Pathetic! They replaced rear glass in my mustang, I swept out broken glass n parked in a heated garage n they showed up 4 hours late. Rear seal never adhered itself to glass, they said it would take seal after awhile, now 2feet of my seal flaps in the wind. Outside panel is loose n whistles n shakes while driving. They must have broke tabs off n didn't want to fix it. By the way, it's now been a week......and they still haven't showed up to fix their mistakes. Scratched paint, broken body panels, 2feet of seal is flapping in the wind, the worst experience I've ever had!!! You dnt want to ever deal with their customer service, two days off work waiting for them to show n They still give me the runaround. After their two failed attempts to show up I had to go back to work, they scheduled me another appointment 4 days away. I'm getting a lawyer. Period........ When you pay someone to do a job n you have to take legal action, it's pretty bad. read more
