I'm not happy with this Safelite location. Through my insurance, I was scheduled to take my car in for window replacement on Saturday, 4/4/26. I dropped off my ride and my keys at roughly 8:30a with the guarantee and expectation that this service would be completed by 5:00p. The tech who worked on my car, Benjamin, called me around 3:30p to confirm that my car would be ready. In turn, I made arrangements to be dropped off at the Safelite Greenbrier location to await completion and then drive home. I arrived a little past 4:30p. I checked in with the lady at the front desk and waited in the lobby. I waited past their posted closing time (5:00p) and didn't hear anything until Benjamin came to get me just before 6:00p. He gave me my keys, and while we were walking to my car he quietly said, "I have some bad news." Of course, a window switch broke while he was working on my car and he wasn't able to immediately repair it or replace it. I waited roughly 90 minutes on site, when I could've been at home, to receive a broken promise. Service wasn't completed as guaranteed and I lost personal time in their lobby awaiting an incomplete job. Benjamin stated he/they would have the replacement part sent in (he quoted a turnaround time of 3-4 days, then they will install that part free of charge (an appointment wouldn't be scheduled until the part arrived). That means I have to take more time out to either bring my car back in, or Safelite can come to me (this option wasn't available when the part finally arrived). Either way, I'm still driving around (with basically a hole in my car) for longer than I planned. To add insult to injury, I received a text on Monday (4/6/26) morning stating the service was completed. Since I was already leaving for work, I immediately drove to the Safelite Greenbrier to follow up & confirm they are actively working to resolve the matter. I spoke with a manager, Lucas, who assured me they will order the part & get me scheduled as soon as possible. He provided me his personal cell phone number in case I have further questions/issues. So this is a mess. Safelite, after nearly 2 weeks (and multiple visits to Safelite Greenbrier to follow up), finally finished servicing my car on Friday, 4/17. I'll give them points for knocking this second service out (I dropped off the whip at 7:30a, they were done by 9:00a), but I was essentially left with a hole in my car for nearly a half-month; the hole just taunting someone to break-in again. What's worse, I didn't actually receive an apology from Safelite Greenbrier. Apologies were given to me via Safelite's customer service line (and my insurer), but that's only because I called to complain. I shouldn't have to chase businesses to obtain status updates for an issue that was created via the business (Safelite Greenbrier admittedly stated they were at fault). For 2 weeks, I visited them, called Safelite corporate, and called my insurer just to stay in the loop and hopefully expedite this process. Instead, I felt ignored and placed at the back of the line. Hopefully my car won't suffer another shattered window so that I won't have to opt for Safelite in Greenbrier. Since my insurance works directly with them, in the future I'll use another location, despite the Safelite Greenbrier's close proximity to my office. JV read more

I got a quick appointment which was nice and didn't wait long to get my car back. I thought everything was great till noticed none of my car desires were working properly. I understand might need recalibration so made another appointment which I can't get for over a week. 2 days later the whole plastic casing around my mirror fell off while driving. Now just exposed wires and parts hanging. My auto wipers do not work neither do the other sensors. Try calling for sooner appointment and nobody can answer. Like they do not care. Just driving around with a car with wires out. Feels hot to touch so hopefully won't start on fire or something. We pay all this money for labor. More than the actual glass cost just to get a mediocre job. Definitely don't go to this location. read more

I was trying to call to see what was going on but could only get the 1-800 people who had no idea either and eventually disconnected me. Had resin injection on my windshield 2021 Ford F150 no protective mat was used to deflect any Resin from getting on my truck. I have it all on video via RING. Was told it was tree sap and I must park under trees........ Seriously. Wendall Smith turned me away at the facility in Greenbrier/Chesapeake. Regardless, I now have to make a insurance claim on the entire ordeal. What a mess. I've used Safelite for years and on many other vehicles. What a shame. read more

I don't know why this location has a bad reputation. I got a crack in my windshield back in November of 2024 and I procrastinated in getting it fixed. Fast forward to May 2025 and I finally got it fixed. My windshield was covered by my insurance and I had to physically go to their shop to get the recalibration of the cameras and other technologies in the vehicle. My appointment was scheduled for 8AM and I dropped off a couple minutes early. The front desk greeted me right away and had the paperwork ready once my vehicle arrived. I was told about 2-3 hours for it to be fixed. Luckily this area has a bunch of places, so we decided to go get breakfast. About 1 hour and 30 minutes later, I received a phone call and text saying my car will be done in 15 minutes. When I arrived back at the store my vehicle was ready to go and was given my keys without a hassle. So far the windshield is holding up and the service was quick. If I ever get a crack in my windshield again, I will come back. read more

I took my 2021 Honda Ridgeline pickup to the Safelite AutoGlass shop, located at 1545 Crossways Blvd in Chesapeake, on December 10th, at approximately 5:45 pm, to have the front windshield replaced due to a cracked windshield, which was in view of the driver. My service appointment was actually scheduled for the next day, on the 11th, at 8:30 am. I was notified by a tech the day of the scheduled appointment at about 2:00 PM, after having my vehicle all day, that they were unable to fix my windshield because of a code that appeared. The tech further described the problem as the code displayed had something to do with my braking system, and in order to replace my windshield, I, as the customer, would have to take the vehicle somewhere and get my brakes repaired before the windshield could be fixed by them. I explained to the tech that I was not pleased with the service report given, and I assured him that I didn't believe there was anything wrong with my braking system as they were saying. I picked up my vehicle the same day, because they said they were unable to replace the windshield, and took it directly to the Honda dealership to have the codes examined. The Honda techs/mechanics were unable to find anything wrong with the vehicle or any related existing codes. I further reported this incident to my insurance company, and Safelite stated that the reason for not being able to repair/replace the windshield was due to the vehicle's existing "sunshaded" front windshield, which was a totally different reason given by the manager when I spoke to him. I would NOT recommend that ANYONE attempt to have their vehicle repaired at this or ANY OTHER "SAFELITEAUTOGLASS" FACILITY. AFTER MARKET GLASS: Don't let anyone full you into thanking aftermarket glass is the same as OEM (Original Manufactured). Aftermarket is a softer glass that is three times quicker to break or chip. Truck back sliding glass is normally a smaller sliding center glass with the center upper and lower trim center trim being thicker / wider. Motors on the center glass being slower and weekend. Be careful and pay the difference, glass is the strength between the roof and a vehicle body. read more

The tech told me he would call the shop and let me know when to expect the correct window to be in stock. This review is focussed on the Chesapeake VA office although some of the grief was caused or amplified by the larger Safelite organization. They waited until the end of the day to tell me they were overbooked, so I lost a whole day waiting for them. Then we rescheduled to the next day, which was also wasted when I dialed in to check on the whereabouts of the tech and discovered I had been rescheduled to Wednesday of the following week WITHOUT TELLING ME OR ASKING IF IT WOULD BE OKAY. I don't understand why Travelers thinks Safelite is worthwhile. I and my family have been loyal Travelers customers for home and auto insurance for over 70 years, and this incident has me wondering about that relationship. The experience was so bad I wouldn't trust a Safelite employee to lead me out of a restroom. If it were possible to offer up zero stars I'd do it. Travelers, are you listening? And don't bother with Safelite's USELESS phone menu. There's a special place in purgatory for whoever designed and implemented that monstrosity. NEVER USE SAFELITE!!!! On Saturday morning I got a chip on the driver's side of the windshield while driving down 64. I immediately thought of Safelite and I was able to get an appointment "between 1-6". This appointment was arranged at 1130am, and I had to prepay $173.46, which I did. At 327pm I called Safelite to get status, and I was told that I was Daniel's last appointment so should be around 5pm. At 410pm Safelite called me and said that Daniel went home for the day, so they needed to reschedule. I was speaking to the Asst Manager and stressed I had to get this fixed today as the vehicle was being driven out of town on Sunday and I knew with the change of temperatures, the chip could become a large crack, so instead of paying $173.46 for a chip repair, I would have to pay more for a windshield replacement. I even offered to drive to them; no such luck. I questioned how their employee could just decide to quit for the day while I was still waiting. The best the Asst Manager could do was to wish me a good rest of my weekend. She said she would credit my card, but of course it won't be dropped from my bank for 5-7 days. I immediately turned to google to find someone. I called Budget Auto Glass in Norfolk at 417pm, and the gentleman on the phone was super nice, but they closed at 2pm, and he had no one to help me. He told me to call Jody's Windshield Repair. BTW, his price would have been $75. I called Jody's Windshield Repair at 420pm, and Jody answered the phone. Jody said they closed at 3pm. I told her my story and she could hear the desperation in my voice. It was her birthday weekend, and her kids and grandkids were in town to celebrate, but she told me to come to her and she would help me. NEVER USE SAFELITE - they don't care about the Customer, and they are over-priced! Kudos to Budget for giving me a lifeline - to call Jody's BZ to Jody and her husband!!!! Brought my car here to get my windshield replaced. The booking process was extremely easy online, I was able to get in the next day but I chose a couple days out due to prior engagements. The text notices are super convenient. I dropped off at 930 and they called me at 1130 to tell me it was done! It was a super quick and clean job. The people were nice and everything was super easy. I just wish I knew it was going to be so quick and I wouldn't have spent the money on the Uber back and forth. Would definitely come here again but hopefully won't have to anytime soon. read more

He showed up with a second tech and they were literally done within a 1/2 hour of arrival. They did a great job and gave me a slight discount for the after appointment timeframe. The two techs were actually down from New Jersey helping field calls for our local location. They were professional and did a great job for how their schedule played out that day. After a break in, I was able to secure a replacement for my front driver side window and windshield. My appointment was for 9:30am, and I got in early. They were very nice and welcoming. My was finished just around 10:45am, well within the 2-3 hour time estimate. The amount was a little less than my insurance's deductible. All in all, great and fast service. read more

The only positive is the very calm receptionist. I came in for a 0930 appointment and it's now 1630 and I'm still getting the run around. This is the only business I've been to that quotes you a time for an appointment and then doesn't look at your car until 4 hours later. Why even schedule an appointment? Brought my car in 5/22/24 to have a small star repaired. Technician did not bring car into the shop and try to make the repair while the glass was hot from the sun. Windshield cracked and Safelite is not responsible. They offered to replace with their aftermarket glass. I requested OEM but was told it was discontinued for a 2013 Lexus convertible. I was also told if they could even get the glass I would have to pay the difference. I went through my insurance company USAA and had OEM glass installed the following Tuesday by Coastal Glass in Chesapeake. They said they contacted the Lexus dealership and they had the glass in stock. there was no additional charge for the OEM glass, just paid the deductible. I strongly recommend do not use Safelite. read more

Be careful if you use this company. I have two cracks in my windshield and the app stated they could be repair. Keith came out to repair them and he did. The only trouble is AFTER he repaired them, he told me that since one of the crack was in the driver line of sight then probably the windshield would not pass inspection. He told me after he repaired the crack and I have to pay for the repair, not before. I would have just got a new windshield. He also told me, not to worry if it got turn down on the inspection, I would have a year to get it fix. Now I know this was a lie. What a way to do business. Update: since the owner of the business contact me and say the company guarantee that if the windshield does not pass inspection then the cost of the crack repairs would count toward the total cost of a new windshield. Beware of what you order !! I ordered a replacement windshield for a Jeep wrangler. I received a generic windshield that was not the same. There response was they did what they were supposed to do. So be sure to be versed in their language. OEM. I didnt pay for it so I didn't get it ! It was not even offered. I had an excellent experience with Safelite! I got connected with them through my insurance when I had a crack in my windshield larger than a dollar bill. Safelite quoted me with a price lower than my deductible, so I opted to work with them directly. I had the option to have them meet me wherever I needed for a fee, or to go to them--I did the latter. They had availability the following day (I called at 6pm, so same day wasn't even an option) but I chose an 8am appointment the day after that. I was checked in immediately. There is a waiting area with a TV, toys for kids, one desk with a comfy office chair next to an outlet (I was so excited about this!), a Keurig with coffee and tea, complimentary snacks/water, vending machines, and free WiFi. Almost exactly an hour later, one of the staff came out to let me know my replacement was finished. I was able to check out with him right where I was sitting. I was incredibly satisfied with my experience here! Every staff member was beyond friendly and the quality and speed of the service itself was completely painless. Highly recommend! read more

The technician was negligent in communicating potential risks and turned a dime-size crack into a crack large enough to have to replace my entire windshield and tint, costing me more money than initially anticipated. Just had anew windshield put in. Great job. Quick...less than 2 hours and they even remounted all stickers and my EZ pass. Warranty and 1800 number for any issue makes this a go-to franchise. The staff was friendly, had the store open before posted time and started work as soon as I handed them keys. The free drinks, snack and coffee are nothing but bonus. The ease in the whole process from booking the appointment to the actual repair was surprisingly enjoyable. Well as enjoyable as getting a chipped windshield can be. I selected the option where the technician came to meet me. I was not able to meet the technician while he did the repair, but he was great about communicating the whole process from when he was on his way, arrived, and completed the repair. He also made sure to manage expectations since it was a repair not a replace. Now I will admit it is a little pricey. But the convince is what you pay for, it has been 2 weeks since the repair and the chip is not nearly as noticeable. read more

After 4 visits and many lies our windshield was still not calibrated after a replacement. We had to take it to the dealership. The dealership said they messed it up so badly that it took 2 visits to resolve the damage done by safelite. We had to pay double. They are not equipped to handle newer model vehicles. We made the appointment and brought in the car. They ordered an after market piece of glass which did not have safety features. We had to come back for calibration, and it could not be calibrated because of the after market glass. OEM windshield had to be ordered. When it came in it was installed and they couldn't calibrate again. They told us that it was because of the weather. The weather was perfect. We had to come back. When we came back, they told us that they couldn't calibrate it because of traffic and they couldn't got the car up to the proper speed on the interstate. It was the end of day and the place was closing. They had not given the previous excuse but demanded payment so they could close their registers. Then the windshield had not been calibrated and they said they needed the car back first thing in the morning. This was not doable and they argued with us. Finally we set an appointment for Monday. We took the car to the dealership who told us that they had damaged the windshield and car and after 2 appointments fixed it. They told us that Safelite did not have the proper equipment to calibrate the windshield where all the safety features of the car are located. Don't go to Safelite. read more

On top of that she delayed my service as retaliation for speaking to Asst Manager. Dropped off car at 0815 with appointment and it's 445pm and the windshield was just removed.
