I really wanted to do business with Pella because their Norfolk location on Robin Hood Road is…read moreright around the corner from my home. Unfortunately, my experience before I could even purchase a new front door was extremely disappointing. I called on August 17 and scheduled an appointment for Thursday, August 20 at 5:00 p.m. We originally discussed Wednesday, but I was specifically told Wednesday was booked and Thursday was wide open. We arranged to leave work early and waited at home from about 4:45 until 6:00. No one showed up, called, or texted. I left a voicemail that evening and called again the next morning. When they couldn't find the appointment, I was actually asked whether I was sure I had scheduled it with Pella. I asked to speak with a manager. Later, a woman who identified herself as a project manager joined the conversation and said they had checked their schedules and couldn't find my appointment. What bothered me most wasn't even the scheduling mistake. Mistakes happen. It was how it was handled afterward. There was no real apology, no "let's see how we can fix this," and no effort to reschedule or earn my business. When I finally said I wasn't sure I wanted to do business with a company that couldn't keep track of its appointments, the project manager basically responded, "Well, you have a good day then," and ended the conversation. I expected Pella to say, "Something obviously went wrong. We're sorry. What can we do to make this right?" Instead, I felt dismissed. I was ready to spend money on a new front door and deliberately wanted to use a company in my neighborhood. After this experience, I'll be looking elsewhere. Very disappointing customer service from a company I expected much more from.

More importantly, Mike did me a true solid. The door had a thinnish wooden brace across the middle that was splintering, with which I was completely unconcerned. Now, the screen door is not only freshly screened but also it's sturdier than when I brought it in. Good job!

From start to finish, their team was professional, detail-oriented, and truly brought our vision to life (check out the before pictures, proposal and the final products). Our new pool and hot tub are absolutely AMAZING, and the outdoor kitchen is the perfect addition for enjoying the space with friends and family. We loved the tiered gardens and backyard so much, we asked them to do the entire driveway. The stone paver deck, walkway, and driveway tie everything together beautifully and create such a functional outdoor space. We are beyond impressed with the craftsmanship, and the entire experience was smooth and stress-free. The team at Solid Structures cares about quality and customer satisfaction - every time I reach out, Jason is always there to help us understand the inner-workings of the pool and any required maintenance. unprofessional, rude, poor quality and little response of when it would be completed . sloooooooow…read moreprogress- taking over 8 months to build one great room addition and screened porch with no additional plumbing or ac work. The home owner will have to be the accountant with several phone calls from Glen, the GC, asking how much $ is left every few weeks- wanting the final draw BEFORE completion of work. Did not accurately draw up the discussed vaulted ceiling so paid extra $ due to incorrect blueprints; the "maintenance free" screened porch had numerous pine knot stains over every wall come through within 1 month of completion...which is ongoing maintenence! The interior windows were incorrectly installed in the wrong color causing delay for correct custom windows to arrive. Interior doors installed without door frames as well as drywall finish look hideous. Home owner had to fix door knobs. They promised a final cleaning which did not happen. GC referred to the home owners' wife as a b**** to other subcontractors. Communication so poor GC requested subcontractors to discuss matters with us, the home owners, as to smooth out tensions. Many of these subcontractors were wonderful, respectful and professional and clearly not connected to SkyBrynnes business tactics. Abruptly GC's wife "took over" in her words through email correspondence with a lecture on how "we as customers are to behave going forward." We noted at initial introductions of future construction plans in the home; so there was great potential of this company acquiring future work of a laundry room addition; a full bathroom and office space addition and 2 bathroom remodels. We have built 2 homes, hired many different contractors that we gave returning business for large jobs in 5 different homes and have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism.

Gaps, no flashing at the chimney, shingles that didn't reach the gutter, etc. I contacted Skye-Brynn about their 10 year warranty on proper installation and asked them to take a look at the roof to verify that they may have been responsible for the leaking. To my knowledge, they never even went and looked at the roof. Just stoped communicating with me. I ended up having to pay someone to repair the damage (due to improper installation) 2 weeks later because I couldn't get anyone from Skye-Brynn to talk to me. Beware. They did a poor installation job and then refused to stand by their work when their poor installation resulted in a leaky roof.
