Sat 0630 AM. Discovered door spring broken. Called and got live person answering service and left msg. Expected call back during 0930-1500 Sat business hours. At 0710 got call from service tech. "Be there in 30 mins, no weekend service charge". Arrived in 25 mins. Estimated job would take 45 mins. It took 40 mins. Finished at 0810. So, when wife wakes up I can happily tell her the 'story' over coffee. "Happy Wife, Happy Life" True professionals. So glad I had them install garage doors at both my homes in 2007. Questions? I'm late getting this review in, I feel obligated to get this submitted, because DoorMasters performed an excellent new garage door purchase and installation at a competitive price. They completed a complete upgrade of my worn-out contractor's special garage door. New belt-drive opener and hardware, and new powder-coated heavy gauge, insulated steel, carriage house-styled door. It is installed perfectly, I mean it is tight, level, no play at all, with a parallel reveal that I did not expect from a steel garage door. This may be odd to write a review about a business that only gave an estimate, but I am compelled to recommend this company. Let me start off by saying the reason I did not use them was not a price issue but rather the broken part was a proprietary piece that had to be fixed by the original installer. What influenced me to write this review was the honesty and professionalism displayed by the company representative. I will also state that after getting an estimate from another business, this company's price was terrific. Yes, I was part of the problem and no, I did not use profanity. I did get upset. There were three warning signs I chose to ignore. The first, Doormasters wanted 100% up from payment, not the 30% wanted by Precsion Door. Next the sales staff could not inform of the correct information I need from Sherman-Williams for the custom paint job. Third how little time and effort the technician spent measuring and surveying my garage. This door was going into a 50 year old building. Very little of the building is still plum, square and level. Yes, if one measures at the center of the door the 6'-6" door would work. But measuring at the sides the opening is just a little under 6'- 7". Raynor - supplier - door is one of the few supplies that offer a 6'-7" door and a choice of any color Sherman-Williams produces. As far as being back ordered I find that hard to accept. All Raynor doors are custom built, not pulled from stock. I spoke with the area manager for Raynor door. He informed me Raynor would not take a door order without the correct color codes. It took Doormasters 11 days to correct the order. That is most like the primary cause for delay. When the owner of Doormasters was at my home his comment was - and I paraphrase -"The door we ordered is the door you are getting, take it or leave it." It was only after I posted my comments on Yelp and at the BBB that Doormasters decided they wanted out of the contract. It was entirely Doormasters idea that they could not satisfy me. I would have been easily satisfied. First an apology for not informing me of the delay, starting on a new relationship by keeping me informed, DISCUSING with me what to do about the ¾" gap at the top edges of the door, then installing a Raynor door that they and I would be proud to own. Doormasters did send me a check. It is funny that businesses think they can use your money a month, renege on the agreement and not owe you any interest. read more

Called on Friday talked to James, our opener that doormaster installed in 1999 finally played out. We decided it was time to replace units on both doors. Elvis arrived on time on Monday morning, installed both units made sure all remotes were working on both cars, and then as they say Elvis left the building. We bought a new garage door in August of this year. Tom, the President, is great. Very friendly, professional, and not pushy like most salesmen. The day of the install, they gave us a 1-hour window for their arrival time, called ahead to say they were on their way, and arrived on time. They had told us that the install could take up to 6 hours, but they were finished within 3. The garage door looks wonderful! The only semi-frustrating thing about working with them is their reception setup for calling. If they don't answer, it forwards you to an answering service who takes down a message for them to call you back. It makes playing phone tag much more difficult than if there were an answering machine! Other than that, great service; I would highly recommend! read more

Doormasters has always been a proven performer for me. The staff and service technicians are very knowledgeable. When I decided I needed to upgrade a wood door for an insulated door, I had not clue what to do. I went to their showroom. The sales person there gave me the nuts and bolts of garage doors. One thing I learned is that a double insulated door is light years better when one that isn't. I didn't know but he showed me the difference. I'm so happy he did. I keep my car in the garage. Having the garage door insulted holds in the heat during the winter months. It also keeps the heat out during the summer. I could have cut corners as the door added up in price over the non insulted one. I'm forever thankful I did not do it. I listened to the professional. I got a great door. I have had them come out and check it. They have serviced it since I had it installed in 2004. They are still dependable, reliable and willing to assist me in any way. Very poor craftsmanship, this people leave chopped off 1/4round at the bottom of your doors, you literally have to watch them like a hawk and if you don't, they make your kid to sign the paper and next morning you'll. see the charge on your credit card. I'll see if I can post the horrible pictures of the "skilled job". They already messed up 2 locks (100 $ each) and the owner said "they were defective", the contract say "interior casing included" and when I approached the owner he still make the workers to install the old one that doesn't fit on the new door. They faked the contract after we signed, adding an "x" in the still door when we were expecting the fiberglass door. They don't like to be approached about their tacky job, calling it "she is picking at stuff" and send us eMail if we want them to complete the project, they want me out of my house!!! Unheard of!!! Big issues with the storm doors,: the metal is bent, very easy to brake in with just a screw driver. And all they want to do is cover it with the caulk. So, people, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!! Go with someone else. Can not wait to share it on Angie's List and Better Business Bureau to prevent people from going through all this. Big, BIG mistake!!! read more
