Two words: Great Experience! I called due to having a broken torsion spring and received a quick response through the phone. The rep was pleasant and I set up an appointment. Before this call, I had called around to two other businesses and Miller's was the most reasonable. They quoted me $150 ($60 for the spring and $90 for labor, including taxes). The next day the tech, Dan, showed up and was really friendly. Showed him the broken spring and he went straight to work. 30 minutes later and he was done. I was handed the invoice which was exactly $150 with no extra fees. If you want to pay with credit card you just have to call the office back. This experience was nice and easy. About a few hours later, the garage door was having problems closing. Called the office back and they said Dan would be out in about an hour. Dan came back, fiddled with the sensors, and it started working fine again. Weird cause I had fiddled with the same sensors but Dan had the magic touch I guess. By far, the best experience I've had with a garage door company. Two other companies came out to give me estimates. Company 1 said I needed a new door and with installation and a new opener it would be $750. Company 2 said they could repair the door, adjust the opener and the final cost would be $450. Miller door came out, said the door was fine, adjusted the door tracks, readjusted the opener, and the total bill was $256. Definitely use Miller and always get a second estimate! read more

Twelve years ago I purchased a new garage door from Millers. It has certainly passed the test of time and is still in fine condition just needing some maintenance. Recently the wife wondered if we could get an electric opener for the old door. I called Millers Sunday evening 10/8 and left a message. First thing Monday morning 10/9 I received a call which said Shawn was on his way. Shawn showed up as directed and quickly realized that 12 years ago, he had installed my door. Really impressed with this company! The torque master spring on our garage door broke and we had another company come out to fix it- we were told over the phone it would be few hundred to fix the system but when the guy showed up he told us it couldn't be fixed and it would cost $800 to convert the system. We don't know much about garage doors, but the price seemed way too high! So we called Miller's late Friday afternoon and they were out here by Monday morning, it was $280 to convert the system to the torsion spring (the same they quoted over the phone) vs the $800 the other company tried to charge! Miller's save us over $500!! It's nice working with an honest company that doesn't try to squeeze every last dollar out of you. The service guy was very friendly and helpful- I can't recommend them enough! We will be using Miller's for all our garage door needs! read more

This is most HONEST and RELIABLE garage door company in the Hampton Roads area! The cable on our 4 year old garage door jumped the spindle, bent one of the rails and was left 1/3 way open completely crooked. I spoke with another local company first (that had 1.7k 5 star google reviews) and got a weird feeling they would rip me off based on my phone conversation, and then looked at their reviews here on Yelp and my intuition was right on. I called Miller's and spoke with Brenda and could not be happier with them. I just used Miller's Overhead Door to replace a broken spring for our garage door. I would absolutely use again and highly recommend. They were the fourth company I contacted. Company #1 - Answered promptly, appointment available for next day, but quoted $465. Reduced to $405 when I said I would get back to them. Company #2 - Went to voicemail, no return call after 24 hours. Company #3 - Went to voicemail, return text next day after already made appointment with Miller's. Miller's answered promptly and politely, and said they had an appointment available the next day. They quoted a price of $265. I made appointment. They said they would call first thing in the morning to let me know what time their tech would arrive. I received a call at 815am to let me know that their tech would be out between 1230 and 230pm. I later received a call about 1245 to let me know that their tech was running late on an earlier job, and would arrive between 230 and 330pm. This in and of itself is impressive to me...too many contractors don't bother to communicate with their customers! The tech, Sean, arrived promptly at 230pm. He was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. He quickly completed the work, to include ensuring that the garage door opener was properly set. The charge was exactly as quoted. We had a great experience with Miller's overhead door this week!!! I had called around to get quotes on both pricing and warranty for parts and labor... The prices range from $120-$300... All that was wrong was a snapped spring on a one car garage door. We decided to go with Miller's because they quoted us $125 to replace both springs as well as offering a one year warranty on parts and a 30 day warranty on labor. I'm glad I didn't go off of reviews, because the existing one on here would have detoured me. I called Miller's on Tuesday afternoon, and we set an appointment for the following Thursday between noon and four. They were extremely kind and professional on the phone and gave me a completely transparent quote... Parts, labor, total with tax and everything. At around 2:15 PM today (Thursday) My door tech showed up and had the springs replaced, tracks greased, and our door back to working in less than 30 minutes. The price that I was quoted was exactly what we paid, tax and everything included. We had a choice to either write a check and give it to the tech, or call the office to process a credit card. We went with the latter option since we were charging it to our MasterCard. We will definitely recommend Miller's to our neighbors and friends if they ask... The only critique I would give is that the tech dress a bit more professionally... this did not affect his service, but he showed up in a half untucked T-shirt and baggy shorts... just took away from the quality image a little one bit, but not enough to affect my review. read more

Miller's was contracted to install two openers that I purchased from the Home Depot. The technician was prompt and very professional and he spotted that one of the garage doors needed bracing at the top and that the keypad that I had didn't work with the new openers I purchased. He braced the door and installed a used (looked new) keypad for no extra charge. The old openers had pretty new LED bulbs that I didn't need for the new system and he asked if he could have them because from time to time he runs across senior citizens that may need them and he will provide at no extra charge.
