I could never get past the automated phone service and actually speak to a person about my issues.

When trusting your medical issues with professionals, you expect them to verify information before working on you. Like DOB and name. This ensures that everything matches to limit harm. I have the same expectations when it comes to working on my vehicles. Safelite this morning failed to verify information and has destroyed my trust in them. When anyone schedules service you give them your VIN so they can order correct parts and verify the correct vehicle on service. This morning when the tech was scheduled to be here, I had not heard anything. I proceeded outside and did not see the van. I pulled out my phone to see if I had a missed call and noticed I missed two text messages. The first message was that the tech was getting started and the second was a pre-authorization receipt. I proceeded to call the local shop and asked if this was an error. They seemed confused and quiet. They stated they would call the tech and check in. A few moments later the tech called asking me to step outside as he needed to speak with me. I asked him if he was next to my car. He stated he was, and I informed him that he was not at my car. He then stated that he thinks he is working on the wrong car. The local shop then called me and asked how I would like to handle this. I stated to cancel the appointment due to the tech did not even verify the VIN correctly. I was told that the tech did verify the VIN. I challenged that was not possible as the VIN of my vehicle matched the receipt and I was next to my car. They stated back "Well he checked it." I asked if they believed that I was lying and they got upset. I was then asked if I wanted them to come down and work on my vehicle, which I declined as their tech could not even complete a VIN check. Needless to say, this is unprofessional and very dangerous. I stated several times about the vehicle they are working on was wrong. They were working on someone's car without permission. These statements were dismissed by Safelite in 2 of the phone calls. So, buyers beware and remember the importance of verifying information and the person being selected to work on your vehicle. read more

We were vacationing at the Dells. On our way through Chicago, a car next to is threw a rock the size of a baseball at us. It hit the windshield right on the rear view mirror. The mirror broke off the glass and we were sprayed with glass. This place called us within the hour and we had an appointment the next day. They were prompt and speedy. So much good to say here- first of all, the fact that the company comes out to do this was great. Secondly, they contacted my insurance company and set up my claim ($0 deductible). Thirdly my mechanic, George called me first thing in the morning to arrange the exact time, and he came when he said he would. George was a hard-worker yet personable and let me bug him with various questions about my windshield as he worked. He made sure everything was done correctly and left the car cleaner than what I handed over to him! Again, he was a forthright, positive, energized, and helpful person on the job, and took the time to do a great job and also make a good connection, which gave me a good impression of this company as a result. We came in because of a shattered door window. Everything went great! The appointment was set up online through our insurance provider. We dropped off the car with the service staff quickly with no problem. We left for lunch while the car was being worked on, and were surprised when we got a call less than half and hour later that the job was already done! My windshield was cracked while driving on the interstate and I scheduled an appointment for just a couple hours later the same day. I was very impressed with the mobile site and being able to be seen the same day at the location I wanted. Unfortunately, I had to get a replacement instead of a repair, but I was able to get an appointment the next day. The first technician gave me a discount right away based on what I saw quoted on the mobile site and he was extremely nice. The second technician the next day was just as nice - he called once my windshield was replaced to let me know exactly how long I had to wait to pick up my car. He even moved my state park sticker to the new windshield, which I would have completely forgotten. I was a little late to pick up my car, and he waited after the store was closed to let me come get it! Overall, I had an amazing experience. Scheduled and paid online, opted to bring my car into the shop, but was happy to see that they will come to you to replace glass at a reasonable price. Scheduling online and paying in advance was seamless. The guy in the shop was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I needed a windshield for my car soon to be for sale. I checked the Safelite website, and in less than 10 minutes I was already scheduled for replacement on the second day. I opted to have the technician come to me which cost a reasonable extra fee (about $25 to have them travel round-trip from Baraboo to Portage - not bad!). My tech was very friendly, and seemed very experienced and knowledgeable about the car he was working on. Total work time took about and hour and a half, and I am very pleased with the results.
