Have had repairs done through them in the past and have always been satisfied. This was the first time The Pros: I was able to get an appointment for a repair within 1/2 days (chip occurred on a Sunday during which they were closed, got an appt for tuesday). I did opt in this time to drive my vehicle to them instead of using their mobile service as appointments for that were further out. When I arrived, I was early yet they served me immediately, coming out and evaluating. They gave me the typical quick spiel about how they will try their best to repair (it was a sizable chip and crack so very fair), it will potentially still be visible, there is a chance it may crack, all that. I did appreciate that they did not push that they will have to replace or anything, just said they'll try their best and we can go from there, which in my opinion was incredibly fair. The staff was kind and efficient, and the interior waiting area was nice with coffee and water though it was not needed as they were done quite quickly. Pricing was also very transparent, what I saw when I signed up was what I was charged. The Cons: This is the part I am a tad conflicted about. I understand my chip was large, and I understand it was likely to show after. However, I feel as if the repair was not done with much care or finesse, which may be just due to an individual tech, and at the end of the day it is fixed, functional, and supposedly has a warranty in case it cracks I can take it back. But the surface is rough, I am not certain what the process is but I feel as if they didn't polish or scrape properly before letting it fully cure. And then there is also a divot in there. I asked the staff member about these when he handed my keys back and he just said something about how one of the tools sometimes moves when it is curing which makes sense. It made sense and I was able to understand in the moment as I have watched them do it during teh mobile service and seen the tool I think likely was set too low or something, and then also seen that they usually use something like a razor to scrape it smooth before it sets 100%. This just left a very slight sour taste, nothing against the staff, they were all kind, just feel that in the past the techs that came out took more care and perhaps these ones did not. I may be wrong though, and it may just be all that was possible due to the size of the crack. read more

Update September 21, 2026. It cost over $300 just to get it fixed. All that needed to be done was for the windshield wipers to have the home position reset. When I asked about getting it looked at at the dealership, they immediately asked if we had a windshield replaced by Safelite recently, apparently this is a common issue. My driver's side window was smashed in requiring a complete replacement. My insurance for some reason likes safelite, I assume they get the lowest price from them. I wasn't going to hit my deductible so I opted to pay out of pocket rather than file a claim. I still went with safelite since that's who insurance recommended. I now regret the decision and I'm looking for a new provider (for the window and possibly insurance). First, it's been a week and a half since the incident and today was the earliest appointment available. Earlier this week safelite called me saying there were earlier appointments available if I'd like one. I jumped at the opportunity only to be told they were mistaken. No earlier appointments were available. Annoying, but not the end of the world. After that, I was contacted multiple times to confirm my appointment, which I did. Today, two hours before my appointment window, I receive a call saying the glass had not yet arrived from the dealership and we may need to reschedule. I informed them this was a huge problem because I have to drive 8-9 hours tomorrow through a snowstorm, either doing so without a window or having to rent a car, adding additional cost. They then called back with less than two hours left in the appointment window to let me know not only did they not have the glass, but the dealership parts department wasn't even open today (it's a Saturday). How they didn't account for that when scheduling, I don't know. It's not like replacing and repairing windows IS THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS!!! I called the safelite business office to voice my frustration. They offered no solutions, no apologies, nothing. They very clearly do not care about customer satisfaction. Needless to say they lost my business. So my recommendation to you is save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. read more

Made an appointment for later morning. I arrived on time and waited in their customer area while they repaired my windshield. Caleb serviced my vehicle and he was friendly & informative after my repair was completed. The repair seemed to be good (will update if there's issues, but I'm grateful they seem to have a pretty good warranty program). I liked that lobby & bathroom were really nice & clean - and that they had water/snacks in the lobby area in case you get hungry during the wait. Deducted one star for two reasons: very high price and the fact that the website doesn't advise the customer to plan on an approximate 2-hour wait if you need to wait at the store. read more

My wife and I and my parents have been using Safelite AutoGlass for our windshield repairs since at least the 90s, both in North Carolina and in Georgia. I've always liked the convenience of Safelite coming to you and I think they've generally done a good job with repairs to our various windshields over the years. That was no exception when it came to our experience at this Safelite location in Apex, NC. While driving between Chapel Hill and Fayetteville, something hit my wife's windshield and left about a half-centimeter chip. Due to our work schedules, we needed a Saturday appointment. The Durham Safelite is closer to us (about a 10-minute drive), but they didn't have any availability so we went with this Apex Safelite (about a 30-minute drive) instead. At the time of writing this review, the only other Safelite locations in the Triangle are in Raleigh (two locations). We had a 1pm appointment, were given an approximate service time of 45 minutes, and were done and on our way by 2pm. Fast. The cost for the repair broke down as follows: Labor: $159.99 Supplies: $7.99 Rain defense: $44.99 AAA member discount: -$16.00 Tax: $14.28 Total: $211.25 This compares to $170.55 from our last service at Safelite about three years ago. Back then, labor was $139.99, rain defense was $34.99, and an online discount my wife found was $15.00. Only the supplies cost was the same ($7.99). The price increases weren't surprising given high inflation in recent years. In addition to the fast turnaround time, service was great. Safelite emailed, texted, *and* called my wife to confirm the appointment. The staff was very nice at this location. The waiting room had complimentary water, coffee, and snacks like granola bars and Cheez-It crackers. read more

Buyer beware, this company is horrible. Simple crack repair i.e. using epoxy to fill in crack. I waited 2 weeks for the technician, during that time crack go longer, but still repairable. Technician arrives and refused to do the repair, then complained to me that I did not let him know the crack go longer. Is that how this company trains their employees? Technician could not explain why the crack could not be done, just referred back to the policy. Wasted 2 weeks. Poor customer service and ridiculous policy. My experience at the apex location was amazing and i have no complaints. However, when i tried to utilize the home service before going in to the shop, i waited at home all day and did not get contacted at all. Do not use!!! I had my window replaced in july. The guy had no clue what he was doing drained my battery, broke a piece by my shifter and then left telling me everything was good to go. I got in my car and my radio, my camera screen and all weren't working. Had to take to chevy and get them to fix everything. Im still waiting for them to replace the one part broken. Never in my life... I dropped my car off last night for an 8am appointment today. I was told the service would take about three hours, and I'd be kept informed via text with updates and pick-up instructions. As of 1pm today, nothing but crickets. Their phone number takes you to an AI bot loop with no possibility of speaking with a human being. The national number allows you to get to a human being, but after 30 minutes on hold, even they can't reach anyone at the shop-- AT THEIR OWN COMPANY. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

Terrible Experience with Safelite Repair (this deserves NO STARS) I recently had a scheduled appointment at the Apex Safelite AutoGlass location on 2203 Energy Dr., Apex, NC 27502, to repair two small cracks in my windshield. As a long-term customer of Safelite, I didn't think much when they asked me to sign a waiver stating, "In some cases, the attempt to repair a windshield can result in the chip or crack becoming larger, and we are not responsible for such damage." Upon arrival, I was informed that there were 10 other customers booked at the same time due to a system glitch. Despite this, they assured me that my repair would be completed in 30 minutes. I ended up waiting for almost 2 hours. When I finally received my keys at 1:50 pm, I paid for the two small cracks they were supposed to fix. To my dismay, I found that the less-than-a-penny-sized crack on the driver side had grown to a foot and a half long, and the second small crack on the passenger side hadn't been fixed at all, despite being charged for it. When I reported this, the receptionist pointed out the waiver I had signed and claimed they were not responsible. I requested to speak to a manager. A technician inspected my car and mentioned that the resin should not have been set in the sun, which caused the crack to expand. Another technician then refused to take responsibility for the damage, said that I a technician must have come out to explain what had happened when clearly NO one came to even explain to me what they did and that they had damaged my windshield to a point that it would need to be replaced. Finally, the manager explained that due to frequent customer complaints about similar issues, they had to include the waiver. He offered to refund my money but refused to cover the $1000 windshield replacement. He said they do a lot of these types of repairs but don't keep track of how many cars they actually crack the windows to inform customers upfront the risk of them doing such a repair. Hence it is the consumer who ends up paying the price. Very Very disappointing!! This experience was extremely disappointing. Safelite charged me for a repair they didn't complete and caused further damage to my windshield, leaving me with a costly replacement. I urge others to be cautious and consider this before trusting Safelite with their repairs. The employees and manager are not trustworthy at this location! STAY AWAY! read more

Well the car was dirty, they didn't replace my clips under the hood when they removed the plastic cover, also broke 4 clips that help down rubber to seal the hood. Left the plastic cover sticking out and shut the hood on it caused paint chip. Well simple vacuum and wipe down the frame of the doors they stepped all over. The car was washed and cleaned right before it went for windshield replacement. Not going here ever again. Not much pride in there work. read more

If there were a zero, I would give it 0. I had a chip in the window, so I called my insurance and had it scheduled to be repaired. The man showed up and seemed disinterested and couldn't care less and began to work. He went through his paces and said I'm through and left. They handed me a pink sheet of paper that said PERFECT SERVICE 10. The chip was not repaired fully, and I called the number listed. I was Quickly Told That there was nothing they could do. Once they worked on it, there was nothing they could do. They thought they had told me that. This was only structural, and they did not guarantee how it looked. I want the company to know I'm really frustrated with their service and tell other customers they should NOT go here. My cousin and I sat here for over 4 hours waiting for a window replacement that was booked 2 weeks ago. There bathroom was out of service and no other place in the whole parking structure had a bathroom. We didn't get dropped off here because they said it would be a hour. Once we got here and then had to wait that's when they said 2-3 hours so we were stranded. After walking on the side of the highway to get a long breakfast and bathroom They didn't even start on the car till 11:30. After patiently waiting over 3 and a half hours past the expected time they didn't even say sorry for the wait. I'm really mad and that was a big waste of time. read more

Safelite's response to further repair needs doesn't exist. Once the glass is installed, it's a consumer's nightmare to have Safelite follow through with any issues regarding that repair. The following is my last correspondence with the Better Business Bureau: Better Business Bureau: I accept the business's response to resolve this complaint with reservations. The initial response to acknowledge and remedy my complaint by the local management (Joseph Spadoni and Melissa Mallard) was nonexistent. The response to my four calls to the 800 Customer Care telephone line were exercises in futility. The only reasons Safelite responded to my complaint were this letter to the Better Business Bureau and my negative response to Safelite's request to share this experience in a customer review. Replaced the windshield in our van in 2017 which came with a "lifetime" warranty. Recently developed a leak during all the recent rainstorms. My wife found the receipt so I called them. AWFUL... never go here... the worst communication. Never the person to spend time writing reviews but don't want anyone to have to deal with them. Made an appointment through insurance and when I booked my appointment 2 weeks in advance they said it would take about and hour. When I arrived at my appointment at 9am they said two to three hours so we waited instead of going home. We look out on the floor at 11:30 and they did not even start working on the windshield replacement. Then at 12:30 I finally went and asked and they said about 10-15 minutes, so 30 minutes goes by and a tech comes out and says we don't have the software to calibrate it will be another 45 minutes. When the appointment has been booked for 2 weeks so why not have the right parts. This was super frustrating and was there for over 5 hours with no working bathrooms. My insurance made appointment 6 days prior to me arriving with the car for windshield replacement. Told replacement would take 2-3 hours. Got a call 30 minutes after drop off that they did not have windshield molding and would have to go to dealer to get it. Said it would be ready at 1:00. At 3:00 they called and said part was not delivered and car would have to be left over night to be worked on next day. Then received a call the manager went to dealer and got molding, at 4:15 come get car it's ready. 4 days later, wipers not working properly in a storm and have to return to shop to sit and wait for adjustment because one wiper wasn't even touching the glass and the other wiper was scraping the car windshield molding. I scheduled my appointment a week in advance at the apex location because I had a bad experience at the other location in Raleigh. I was stuck in traffic which caused me to be about 30 minutes late. They were very accommodating when I spoke with a gentlemen on the phone - I advised him i had a bad experience at the other location and this is how the second time i've tried to get it fixed. He advised me that I can drop it off and they will fit it in today at some point. I arrive at 9 am (my appointment was at 8:30) I checked in, gave them my keys and confirmed with the receptionist if I should uber home because of the wait. He said it'll be about 4 hours until I can pick it back up so to just uber if i'm willing to do so. I paid $25 one way for an uber and they take my car to the back while i'm waiting to be picked up. Fast forward 3 hours and 30 minutes later, I received a phone call from a women stating that the window never came and that they cannot fix my window and the next available appointment is May 20th. At this point i've gone without a window for 2 weeks, attempted to get it fixed at two safelite locations and am disappointed once again. I didn't they an apology, any resolution other than the fact that the delivery driver "dropped the ball". So I am now still without a window, out of $50 because of my two way uber rides to come back to a car with no window. When picking up my car, once again didn't apologize or offer any resolution other than appointment over a week away. I called a local shop called AutoGlassNow that has an appointment for me tomorrow and is half of the price of what I was quoted at safelite. The lack of organization and customer service is very disturbing and I will not be returning or recommending anyone to any safelite location. I have a few questions that the women who called me couldn't give me a full answer to 1) How was my original appointment at 8:30 and no one realized that the part was not in stock? 2) Why did it take almost 4 hours of having the vehicle to realize it wasn't in stock? 3) Who is going to reimburse me for my waste of time and uber rides? read more
