I've been with this company for 10 years and I'm not sure why. I've had problems since day one. This company has charged me for services I never agreed to but because it was snuck somewhere into my contract they claim I have no recourse. Any time I've come into a situation where I've had to move they are not understanding and force me to continue to pay even though I cannot install a new system for some time. Recently I just contacted them because I was moving again but this time into a rental, where I cannot install a system, and they are trying to charge me an extra full month because I didn't give them a full 30 day notice. They are simply the most obtuse and inflexible company when it comes to working with their customer. ***Here's a tip, never ever go on auto pay with Safe Systems. Make them bill you monthly and never give them a credit card. There is a loophole in their contract. If you give them a credit card number then they have you locked in for a service contract that auto renews your service agreement. If you pay by check, once your service agreement is up you will then go on month-to-month. However, as I just learned, you have to give them 30 days notice to end service otherwise they will try to charge you for an extra month whether you use it or not. read more

Absolutely Horrible! My company has used Safe Systems for over 20 years and all support has ended. This company is the worst of the worst. We were sold a radio solution to replace our analog phone line of 11 years that the "service tech from Safe Sytems said was a better solution. Safe Systems had been monitoring Fire & Burglary for almost 21 years. They disconnected the burglary and stated we now only have a contract for fire. WTF? They mess up the install and blame us? Still down. Still not resolved. No phone number to talk to their "sales" guy. read more

Safe Systems was scheduled to come and fix my sprinkler today. I waited 6 weeks for an appointment. I wasn't given a specific time, just told "late morning/early afternoon". I called at noon today to confirm, and was told the person was in the neighborhood and would be there shortly. At 3:15 I called back, and they said my appointment was next week, which it wasn't. I said that didn't make sense, and they agreed to call me right back. When they didn't, I called them again. Now they claim a miscommunication, and said no one would come today. I objected, and they hung up on me when I asked them to send someone out by the end of the day. This company is a disorganized mess. Avoid them at all cost unless you have time to burn. read more

When we signed the Safe Systems long term contract we were given the impression they would cover surveillance and service on our fully functioning accurate existing alarm system. After we signed a long term contract, they now say they do not do service on our system. The service calls have to be scheduled long distance for someone form a different company to come 250 miles from out of town, even though we live in a thriving populated business area, at a minimum of $300 per service call. I don't mind buying a whole new system, I don't care for the deception used to get us to sign a long term contract that cannot service our fully functioning existing alarm system. read more

Incompetent & unresponsive. We moved to a new office and specified what we needed from them. They put in the wrong system (cardkey to unlock the door, but keycode to turn on the alarm). When we pointed this out, they suggested that we just don't turn on the alarm. We're still waiting for them to get the system working. We leave messages for them daily and never get a reply. We're about to have them pull out their system and get a system from a company that will install what is requested, and will respond to phone calls. Stay away from them. read more

I used Safe Systems for about 10 years for my residential alarm monitoring and for commercial fire alarm monitoring and they used to offer some of the best service in town. I feel like they were one of the most professional and reliable alarm companies in the metro area. When you call the central station you get people that have worked for the company for years and you start to recognize them. The central station staff understands very well how all of the systems work and you can rest assured that if your alarm goes off they will dispatch police/fire and contact you according to your instructions. I feel like with some other companies like ADT that you don't have this same level of reliability. The installation and service guys are also very knowledgeable and professional. However, over the years their service has gotten much worse. It is next to impossible to get a live person on the phone. Every time you call, they send you to voicemail - you never get a live person. Most recently it took them 24 hours to return my call - that's unacceptable. They also try to shove a long 3-year contract down your throat that automatically renews. I have a background in alarm systems so I feel like I had a higher than average expectations and Safe Systems almost always exceeded them. However, at this point, I would look elsewhere. read more

This company is the BIGGEST rip-off!!! I used them for years. I accidentally set my alarm off in October 2018 but received no call to check on the alarm. I called them later that day. I explained what had happened and after several minutes of checking, a senior manager from THEIR MONITORING team, came back and told me that they had not received a signal from my system since May of 2017, over a year and a half of NO SIGNAL. Had this been a real problem the police/fire department would not have been notified! She confirmed that I had paid for monitoring from May 2017 through October 2018 yet had not received their services since May of 2017. They sent someone out to my house to fix my system. After the system was fixed, and because my next year's monitoring was due, I call their billing department. I explained what their own monitoring company told me and asked for a credit from May of 2017 through October 2018. The woman was SOOOO RUDE to me and said the best they could do is give me 1 MONTH credit. I immediately cancelled my services with them. So not only did they screw me out of a year and half of monitoring, they NEVER gave me my 1 month credit and sent me a bill for that month. Always a problem with our system. Had to call month after month with issues that were not addressed properly. One time a technician left our door wide open and we came home thinking we had been robbed. Customer service is severely lacking. They lock you into a 36 months buried deep in the several page contract. read more

BEWARE!!! Initially I signed a 5 year contract. After 2 1/2 years, we decided that this company wasn't for us. I fulfilled my part of the contract for the 5 years. Shortly thereafter, we gave them a written notice telling them that we were cancelling our services. Here's the catch.... they need the written notice within 30 days of the expiring contract or else you are automatically contracted to another 5 years. We had to pay close to $5,000 dollars after several attempts to negotiate an exit. and get this....when we disconnected the alarm system (without telling them) it took over an hour for them to call to see if we were OK. Very disappointing customer service. Been customers of Safe System for many years but will be changing companies. We've been trying to get our camera's fixed and upgraded for 6 months. Talked to two sales people. Could not get a call back from either. Then escalated and spoke to two different managers. One manager said he "was still trying to figure to what happened." Very frustrated with the response of Safe Systems after 6 months of trying to get our camera's working and upgraded and many phone calls. Even Safe System's managers were not concerned that they had an upset customer. Be aware that once they sign you up the customer service is poor. Still waiting to get working camera's. read more

We tried to use this company to sign up for monitoring for our alarm system. First, they had to send someone out twice to our home to sign the contract. Then we were told they would have to come out a third time. This was starting to get a little ridiculous as we work and trying to schedule appointments was very difficult. Then we received a call from them indicating that they were canceling our contract. No reason was given. Terrible customer service. Only good thing was the sales representative who was friendly and responsive. Wish we could say the same of the company. read more

I have been doing business with Safe Systems for 7 years with one business and 3 years with another business. I pay my bill monthly on line. Unbeknownst to me I received a past due letter stating I owed $328 and it was in their collection department. I have never received a call or notice before this. I am having to go back and produce all my bank information showing payments. I was told it may have started back in October of 2016. Yes you heard it right 2016! Needless to say this has been a time consuming process and disturbing to receive a letter without prior notice of anything. I will be canceling my service with Safe Systems as soon as I can find another alarm company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SAFE SYSTEMS! read more

The key crds for access periodically stop working, the website is extremely outdates and slow and unresponsive, this company is not helpful and the so called "safety and security" is a joke. The service was more or less as presented. When things did not go well, we had to raise a big stink to get simple issues resolved. In the end, we did go with amuch larger national organization and have been 100% pleased with it. Safe Systems did not offer the live video link we were looking for. read more

I had service from 2008 - 2012, and I need service at a new house now and am researching options. My experience with them was good service-wise. The installation was expensive at almost $1000 for installation and there was a 3 year contract. Anytime I had a problem, they were great. However, I did run in to problems cancelling. Update: I just received a call from the manager regarding the review and my issue canceling back in 2012. As such, I increased back to 5 stars. The person who processed my cancellation (or didn't) is no longer in that role. The service itself was excellent. He's going to give me a quote for this new house and I don't know how it will compare with Xfinity, but if they can come close, I'd rather support the local company. read more

After selling our house and moving out of State, Safe Systems kept billing us after we cancelled service. Would send Invoices but would not return any of our voice mails so we could discuss the matter. Poor Business practices not to return customers phone calls and than just send the account to collections. I would even say unethical! would NOT recommend! read more

Our system malfunctioned while we were out of town and started sending false alarms. I directed Safe Systems to turn off their monitoring, but false alarms continued to occur and the police were call several more times before it was finally disabled, which resulted in fines from the city. Safe Systems has refused to take responsibility for their mistakes. I would not recommend using their service. It's been a disaster. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have had their service since 2007. I have payed my bill faithfully all of these years. I recently obtained security from my cable company and wanted to cancel with safe systems. They sent me this contract with the smallest print I have ever seen that said I auto renewed and if I cancelled, they would charge me a $535 cancellation fee. I guess there is no such thing as good will or good customer service anymore. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, AND I RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID THEM, TOO! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS! I signed a 3 year contract with Safe Systems to do a system takeover of a Honeywell system already in my house. Secondly, I foolishly agreed to allow their sales guy, David Noel to bring in some of their "team" for "training." Their "trainees" came in and nosed around my house and left after 5 minutes. If you have never been cased, that's what it looks like. I hope they understand I am not an easy mark. The install tech came out with two brand new keypads, that I was told would be put on the system since only 1 of the 2 installed were working. The tech "couldn't find" the wire to the non-working keypad, left the cables hanging out of the wall and didn't replace the second keypad that was (and still is) malfunctioning due to it's age. I'll spare you the horrors I found after opening the panel to investigate an upgrade to a newer system. In a response to an alarm at my home, the dispatcher couldn't be bothered to inform the responding officers that the homeowner was en-route, and I got to be treated as a burglary suspect in my own home. I don't blame the police for this, they had no way to be sure I wasn't a burglar. Lastly, in trying to resolve the issues with the company, I was put in to a perpetual loop of phone tag with their "customer service manager." Repeated calls to his "direct line" were simply dumped to voice mail. I left good times to call, but could not get a simple phone call returned in a timely manner. Needless to say I will be cancelling with Safe Systems at the earliest opportunity. Be advised they lock you into 3 years and if you do not cancel within 30 days they will stick you with another year contract, instead of going month to month, which is a sleazy practice. It looks like others that have tried to cancel and been stuck with outrageous fees. That speaks volumes about this company. Do yourself a favor and do your research and due diligence, there are much better options for system takeovers for MUCH less money and better service. I allowed my desire to support a local Colorado company and to quickly keep my family safe influence me rather than be smart about it and investigate. Not a mistake I will make again. read more

My partner and I switched from a landline phone system to cable package system. That decision impacted our home security system. SS tried a number of different ways to make it work and managed to switch our technology so that we are just as safe and duly monitored 24/7 even without the standard phone line. All along the SS team never gave up on our switch over. My partner and I are very impressed and I can fully and without hesitation recommend Safe System to other customers. read more

DO NOT SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THIS COMPANY!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!! I had the exact same experience at Mark K. did. After using them for 4 years I moved and decided to go with another company (alarm.com) that was less money and had a lot more features so I called to cancel. They socked me with a $866 cancellation fee. Deep inside the contact was clause that said if you didn't cancel within 30 days after the 3 year agreement they would automatically extend the 3 year contact. Of course the sales person never mentioned that. I'm ok with a 3 year agreement but what kind of unethical company would automatically put someone in another 3 year deal and charge them for stopping the service. read more
