DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! What you are reading is true. Very shady practices. They are crooks. Very hard to cancel services and the service is crappy. They will give you the impression that you have to renew or service will be canceled when they intentionally mislead you to "roll over" your contract. CROOKS! read more

My system has issues almost every year, yet when I call for a service appointment, I have to take time off from work and wait for a service technician that NEVER shows up. I get multiple excuses and promises, yet your company never comes through. Most recently, I have been paying for months for a service that is not even connected to the central dispatcher. This was confirmed by your office via a test. Also, we have been getting multiple readings of low battery throughout the house and notices that a door is open when the batteries have all been changed and all the doors are shut and locked. Moreover, the every time I had issues with getting a service technician out here, I was promised three months free service and I never received the credit. This time, one of your "Senior Account Managers" said he could give me three months free service and an upgraded box, but only if I extend my contract for three years!! Why the heck would I extend a contract with a company that has yet to give me satisfactory service or provide the service that I am paying for!! On top of all that, because your service technician failed to show up during the scheduled date and time, my service has not been repaired and someone broke into my home! Of course the alarm did not reach your central dispatcher because something is wrong with your system, therefore the police were not notified! Why would I continue to pay for a service that is supposed to protect my home and family that completely failed? I do not want any upgrades with strings, I do not want any free service with strings, I want a great company that is loyal to the customers that it is supposed to protect and that obviously is NOT Safe Home Security. I have notified the Better Business Bureau of your lack of service and poor business practices. I want to cancel this service IMMEDIATELY with NO cancellation fees as your company has repeated failed me and failed to provide me with the services I have been paying for faithfully every month. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company!! They are liars and have the worst customer service. I had combination door locks that did not work. I got the runaround regarding repairs until it was time for renewal. I was promised new locks to renew. After I signed, it took 7 months of constantly calling to get my new locks installed. Then I was improperly charged $354 for the locks. Everyone I talk to agrees that I shouldn't of been charged, but it's been over 3 weeks and I have yet to receive a refund. I've been calling daily and everyone assures me my refund is coming or they'll call me back with the status of the refund. Neither have happened. I don't get called back nor have I received a refund. They're a bunch of liars! DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!! read more

UPDATE: After 3mths, BBB closed my complaint. I was able to get my auto pay deleted, receive invoices (which I'm charged $2-3 for). Now, due to Corona, I can only afford necessities. I was just told they could lower bill by $2 if I extend contract. I'm being charged $10 for late fees. Who else can I talk to? I'm on a fixed early retirement income & can't afford $1,000 to end my contract. read more

This company should loose their license and the owner belongs in jail. Attorney General Maura Healey is suing residential security provider Safe Home Security in Middletown, Connecticut and chief executive David Roman. Her complaint accuses the company of automatically renewing contracts even when customers tried to cancel, charging for services that were never provided, charged unlawful late fees and interest and harassing consumers. Safe Home Security created the fake contract over the phone with my husband for five years. The representative Justin Lavoie emailed the contract for reviewing, I never signed it. Dominque Bernacchi on the phone stated that I faked my husband's signature and he needs to file a police report against me! From the beginning they pretended to be a different company we had our alarm with (SecurityOne). Albert Zeloya came to our door to inform us that Security One changed their name to SHS. He gave us the booklet of Security One, he crossed the name with a pen and wrote his info on it, along with the new name of the company (SHS) and the phone number 800-833-3211 ext. 2. When the alarm stoped working we asked few times to fix it but they were not able to do it, blaming it on our new phone system. When I called Security One for help I was informed that it was a scam, they never changed their name, SHS stole our informations. We have a small child and we didn't want to risk any longer to live without the working alarm. We installed the new system with ADT. We called SHS many times to ask to cancel the contract we never signed but they refused to do so. Now they are damaging my husband's Excellent credit score. We have submitted the claim with the BBB and Attorney General. read more

I signed up for this service after hearing a radio advertisement on my favorite station ...I called - the sale went well with the assurance I CAN TRANSFER MY SERVICE AND THAT I CAN CANCEL AT ANYTIME WITHOUT A PROBLEM ,the salesman obviously lied to get the sale seeing those were my 2 BIGGEST CONCERNS.... I used the service happily at the residence I signed up for with ease and let things go as normal .... then we decide to move a year later , I called to transfer my service like promised at the time of my sale , the rep simply said im bound by a contract I cant get out of... and cant move my service or terminate the account ... the people that rented the place we moved out of still to this day are using the service in my name on my dime (credit) and have never bothered otherwise to fix the issue on their end , im sure they just use it as much as possible without knowing the passcodes etc ,but enjoying the chimes of windows and doors for added security , whatever they are doing its on my account .... heres the really funny part , I get a call from this company every day and I explain my story every time , giving them the option to provide me with moving my service to my current address or terminating the account so the other party isn't using it either , neither option is provided so I tell the guy to just put it on my credit and send me to a real collections firm .... its really sad that id rather have shittier credit and deal with even more collection calls than ever give them another $ today I decided to call them and give them my ultimatum once again ... what do I hear on option #6? to TRANSFER OR CANCEL service ..... wtf !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? read more

I have had Safe Home Security (SHS) for approximately 18 months. I have 18 months left on my contract and I can not wait until I can get rid of this company. The first 15 months were fine. Never had to call them and deal with their customer service so I didn't notice the problem with them. In July of this year we began planning for a move. I called SHS and I talked with Bill Stewart extension 1176 (Claims to be a Manager). I inquired about moving my service and the costs associated with it. He told me that there is a $199 fee to move. I asked what it was for and he stated it was an administrative fee and it covered the uninstall and the reinstall. I asked him if I could save money by doing it myself and he said, you can do it by yourself but the fee will still be charged. He also told me my contract would have to be renewed for another 36 months on top of what I have remaining. I ended the phone conversation and told him I would get back with them. Approximately 1 week later, I called again and I talked with someone that goes by KK, extension 1185. This gentleman was exceptional and did not lie to me. He told me the $199 was a $99 uninstall fee and a $99 reinstall fee. He further stated there was no admin fee. KK also said that I would not have to extend my contract. I would just have to sign a new contract for the remaining months on the current contract. (Make this guy the Manager). I signed the new contract and requested the uninstall appointment. 2 -5 days later, Bill Stewart called me back and wanted to schedule the appointment. He was taking too long due to our move rapidly approaching, so I requested to uninstall myself. He told me the alarm was shut down and I was able to do it. In the mean time he was supposed to schedule the reinstall at the new location and get back with me. I requested 2 September. Approximately 5 September rolled around and I still haven't heard from anyone. I called the customer service number and the lady I talked with told me that Bill had it scheduled but never called me so we missed the appointment. I requested it be rescheduled. I also requested a manager over Bill call me so we can talk about all of these issues. After discussing everything with her. I felt as though she would take care of it, but I was wrong. Finally, approximately 1 week later, Bill called again and said he was scheduling my reinstall. I heard back from him eventually with a date and time about 1 week later. That date and time rolled around and no one showed up, but they did charge my account for the Instal ($99). Again I called Safe Home Security Customer Service and requested they refund the money or set up an appointment that they could ensure. Today, it is October 15 and I still don't have a refund or an install completed. I have tried to request to speak with someone higher up and no one will help. This has been the worst service and organization I have ever dealt with. If someone from the leadership at the corporate office could reach out, I would greatly appreciate it. To make a long story short, I did not do a thorough background check on this company when first buying the service. This is a mistake I will not make again. I am totally pissed at the customer service I have received during the last two weeks. The lies were over whelming. They sell a service where there is no support services. This is something that resembles false promises, because at the time you purchase the services, I was told that there was services and I could call and get a service person to come to my home and make the necessary repairs. My suggestion to anyone planning on purchasing an alarm service with this company, read the reviews and believe nothing that you hear from the phone techs. Run in the opposite direction. I called ADT and ask about an upgrade to our system and panel and that a young man that came to our door and stated he was with ADT. I called ADT to checked (Technical Department) their records and there was no one was scheduled to come to our home to upgrade the security system. This was probably a sub-contractor that saw our yard sign (ADT) and came with story. ADT does no send out door-to-door sales people. This has been the biggest mistake of my life getting hooked up with this company! Had a sales rep. come to my door. First mistake was letting him in for what he said was to " check my system to see if it was needing updated",yeah right! I thought I was dealing with the same company until he said that I needed to talk with his boss and while I was doing this he was setting me up with a whole new contract with his company! Told they would payoff my old contract from the other company which to this day still hasn't been done! All I get are excuses and the run around from a lot of people in their company! The service seems to be working for now but I dread the day I have to have service! I feel so foolish for falling for this scam of a company! Long story short. If your contract is up/if you sell your home/if you are military and move due to military orders and your new duty station does not allow monitored alarm systems make 1000% they actually cancel your account and don't continue charging and force you to call several times and send several emails before they actually do anything. read more

They bill you on a 60 days cycle instead of the quarterly 90 days cycle and then report to the credit bureau that you are 30 days late causing your credit score to go down nearly 100 points and you then have to file a dispute to have the false negative report removed from you record because SHS refuses to do even listen when you are trying to explain the facts. read more

SHS has falsified documents and misrepresented themselves on calls. When requesting evidence to mitigate this they fail to supply them. Shady practices and its no surprise they have been slapped with huge settlements against them. read more

In reference to my prior comment on the terrible customer service, Bret S., business owner and Jevaun P., Director of Service, in a YELP reply to me, suggest that I should call them or make an email complaint to resolve the issue. Well, I have made nine calls to SHS since June, one to the complaint # listed ( which is no different than calling the main number) to get this resolved. I also sent an email to to the address they listed, seven days before their YELP suggestion with no response. I never heard of this company until it was time to cancel my contract. Back 2017 I signed up with a different company but I guess they sold my contract and never said anything. Anyway when I tried to cancel on 26 Oct, 2021 I was told that I couldn't do it over the phone and I had to request it via email which is weird but ok I do it. I had to write a review to get a response to let me know my contract was canceled. Fast forward to today I get an email saying that this company has reported this to a debt collection agency. At no time has someone tried to reach out, when I talked to the lady today she said that they sent letters to my old address. Well clearly I didn't get it because I don't own the house anymore. I asked why was I reported and was told that I needed to buy my contract out since I signed a five year contract.. nope I have never done that and I never even signed a contract with this company. The lady then told me that I have to stick with my current contract ok cool because my current contract that was signed back in 2019 states that after 19 months anything afterwards is month to Month. Well 19 months ended back in February of this year. This was report to the credit bureau which sucks because I'm trying to buy a house. This is their fault 100% and they are no help with trying to fix the situation at all. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. This company is a complete fraud from the materials to their customer service. My contract is up in 5 months and I have been sending letters to cancel and they refuse to acknowledge receiving the letters. In addition they delay notifying the police as I have had my alarm go off multiple times and it's been at least 15 mins before the police were notified. Most of the alarms were because their equipment was faulty and triggered silent alarms. BE AWARE!! Stay away from this unscrupulous company! This company is a completely fraudulent institution that continues to bill even after service was cancelled more than a year ago and the contract was with the PREVIOUS owner, not me. Angela at ext 1795 and "manager" Cinque are now trying to extort money from my widowed mother and asking her to resign up for service for a property she neither owns nor lives at. These two associates were combative and rude and telling me I should pay a $600 bill even though their own system says they stopped receiving a signal over a year ago/ and I wrote them several times in the last two years to stop service and stop sending bills for the previous owner to my address. When they couldn't get me to pay they tracked down my mother and demanded payment. These tactics are unconscionable to extort a widow. Do Not use this company, they are predatory. Four days after they harassed me on the phone (today 8/24/2021) they sent a technician to "reinstall" alarm equipment to MY house. This is total harassment and I will be calling the police if they attempt to enter my property again. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. I have never and will never sign a contract or use their service. Do NOT support these people and their bullying tactics. Showing up at my house!?! Really? This is beyond harassment. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! BUYER BEWARE!! Horrible. I switched from Monotronics to Safehome. Worst decision ever! I contacted their 'service' number to explore cancelling my account. Turns out that I'm stuck this contract - from which there is no exit--unless I pay $1,488 (for the remaining years left on my contract). So basically, I'm stuck in this contract until June 2022. The customer service department couldn't even tell me what - if anything - they are "monitoring." I called because my smoke detector was going off for 10 minutes and I didn't receive any kind of call like I did when I was with Monitronics. They tell me they don't monitor the smoke detectors and don't monitor the carbon monoxide detectors. The customer service rep couldn't even tell me if they monitor the windows or doors. What the Haiti am I paying for? I was going to have someone come out this Saturday to address the many issues I have with this "alarm" system. But, once they sent me the agreement via email, I found out if I add that service I have to extend my contract for 3 years. No way will I ever do that, so I'm on the phone right now to cancel the appt. "Safehome" my foot! They are not very responsive once you have signed the contract. They keep trying to extend your contract using many reasons/ excuses, especially if you have to transfer your equipment. Be careful when you sign the initial contact. They verbally told me a 3 yr contract but then snuck in a 5 yr term which I did not notice until after signing. The actual system works great but service and support is very poor. You have to wait forever on the phone to speak to your account manager or you have to wait hours for them to Maybe call you back. Then you have to wait days to months for service. Choose another system if you have the option in your area. read more

Very poor customer service. They hire outside installers ("Dealers") then disavow anything the installers do or say you. They will lock you in to long-term contracts (which they automatically renew when you allow them to "update" your equipment; even when the installer tells you that the equipment update will not change the terms of your original contract). And they charge you 90% of your remaining payments to cancel your service. (Even though the installer tells you, as they did with us, that there is no cancellation fee if you move.) I'm guessing that, if you die, they will demand their cancellation fee from your estate. Stay clear of this company! read more
